FLASHBACK:
“What do you mean she is missing? She left for Nation A yesterday to see her dad. So basically she is not here in Country S but in Nation A.” Sebastian asked Rupert in shock.
“I know, I know, I was the one who told you, remember? But Cindy called earlier that her mom has been asking for her help to locate Theresa. She seemed to have ran away and she turned off her tracker and she won’t answer calls and messages.” Rupert answered.
Sebastian was already in his last year of college while Theresa was in 3rd.
Ever since Sebastian reached 3rd year, he had suddenly somehow distanced himself from Theresa after his dad gave him the reality check.
So the 2 have not been talking to each other like the way they used to lately and it broke Theresa’s heart for Sebastian did not gave her any reason. It seemed like yesterday they were fine and the next day they were not.
“Sebastian, why not try calling or texting her. She always answers your call.” Rupert suggested.
“I haven’t called her for over a year now.” Sebastian paused as he sighed. “Book the private plane, I am going back to Nation A today.”
“But your Thesis defends is tomorrow already.”
“That can wait this is more important than that.” Sebastian left as he went back to his apartment to prepare to leave.
----------------------------------------
At Nation A, when Sebastian arrived he directly went to the William’s mansion as he was greeted by Mr. & Mrs. Wilson.
“Uncle, Auntie. How can I help? What happen?” Sebastian asked worriedly.
“Well, we told Theresa about your Uncle’s condition. And it did not sit well with her.” Mrs. Wilson answered as she broke down in tears.
Few years back, Mr. Wilson found out he has cancer at the early stage. He took the treatment and miraculously survived it all without telling Theresa anything. But a few months back, they found out it came back and has become very aggressive the reason why they decided to tell Theresa.
“Sebastian, Theresa is not like that at all. I know my daughter. She- she’s just upset and maybe wanted to think things through. But- but we don’t know where.” Mr. Wilson answered as he felt weak and fell down on the chair. “You are close to her next to Cindy, maybe she had called you or maybe you know where she is.”
“Honestly speaking uncle and auntie, I don’t know as well. But I will look for her, we will find her. Please don’t worry and calm down it would be bad for you uncle.” Sebastian answered as he tried to assure them.
Soon Sebastian hurriedly left as Mrs. Wilson ran after him.
“Sebastian, Theresa trusts you. Please if you find her and if he throws a fit at you please- please stay by her side. I know she will talk to you.” Mrs. Wilson spoke as he gave Sebastian an embrace.
“I will auntie, I will.”
What everyone does not know is that Sebastian have been avoiding Theresa and have been suppressing his feelings for her, for reasons he find hard to ponder and understand. But most of all he was afraid to hurt her.
“Where are you Theresa? Where can I find you.” Sebastian thought as he drove off the Wilson's Mansion.
As Sebastian was driving somehow he was brought by his thoughts to the only place he could think of and that is at the hills.
Theresa always go there when she is sad, angry, disappointed or just wanted to be alone. It was on a mountain hill near the city. Sebastian had never been there, in fact no one actually knows where it is even her assistant and bodyguards does not know where it is. But at one point, Theresa was able to describe the place to Sebastian, and somehow Sebastian was able to find it based on her description.
As he arrived at the place, Sebastian then looked around, when suddenly he noticed at the far end of the hill just a few meters away from the cliff, a figure sitting peacefully at the bench. At just one glance Sebastian knew it was Theresa.
As he neared her, his heart slowly broke at the sight of her all curled up and quietly sobbing.
He then stooped down in front of her and spoke.
“Theresa?”
Theresa who was sobbing for almost a day, suddenly heard a familiar voice called her name. She knew who it was but since he have been avoiding her, Theresa ignored the thought.
Hearing no answer, Sebastian called her name again as he held her hand. “Theresa?”
Realizing that it was real, Theresa then slowly uncurled herself and stooping in front of her was the man he has been meaning to call and talk to.
“Se-Sebastian?” Theresa spoke as she threw herself on Sebastian’s chest and sobbed.
“Hush now, and calm down okay? Everything is going to be fine. Just- just calm down.” Sebastian spoke as he tried to coax her.
Theresa cried for a few more minutes as Sebastian let it be, while he slowly caressed her back. Sebastian felt the hurt and pain Theresa was going through and it pained him because he knew all about her dad’s illness and yet he still chose to neglect and avoid her. But Sebastian only thought that it was best and better for them.
“This is just this time Sebastian, once Theresa is fine we will be doing what we are supposed to do.” Sebastian thought to himself as he reminded himself what is the main purpose they have.
Soon Theresa started to calm down and slowly broke off from the embrace.
“I- I’m sorry I stained your shirt.”
“Don’t worry about it. Your mom told me. Are you okay? Is that why you are here?”
Theresa did not answer and only nodded.
“Theresa, they are all worried about you.”
“Are you?” Theresa asked as she glanced at Sebastian.
“That’s why I came back, to find you.”
“How- how did you find this place?” Theresa asked curiously.
“Well, you described it to me once and this place perfectly fits the description.” Sebastian answered but Theresa did not say anything and instead kept quiet only.
“Theresa?”
“I can’t Sebastian. I can’t leave without dad. Why did they have to hide such thing to me? Why?” Theresa suddenly spoke as she broke down in tears.
Sebastian held her hand tight and looked to her eyes. “Because they can’t stand seeing you hurt, just like this. They just wanted to protect you. I know it’s hard, but you can’t be like that all the time. Your mom is there, your friends a lot of people is there for you. Your dad needs you, you have to be strong for him too.”
“I know it hurts and it hurts like hell, but getting mad at them right now will not help it at all.” Sebastian added as There3sa started to calm down as well.
“Can we stay here a bit more? Just after sundown please.” Theresa answered as Sebastian nodded in agreement.
On the way home Theresa was very quiet as she looked at the city lights pass by one by one.
“Thank you Sebastian. Thank you for coming, it means a lot to me.” Theresa spoke softly, as Sebastian held her hand for the last time.
Soon Theresa fell into a slumber just before they arrived at the Mansion.
The moment they arrived, Theresa’s parents were patiently waiting for them by the lobby.
Sebastian then slowly lifted her from the front seat and carried Theresa to her room.
He then slowly laid her down as she tuck her to bed.
He knelt in front of her and slowly whispered. “Everything is going to be fine, I will be here for you and I will protect you. But this time I will do it from a far so I won’t hurt you. I’m sorry Theresa, I hope you will understand someday.” Sebastian paused as a tear fell from his eyes. “Goodnight my Theresa.” Sebastian added as he planted a soft kiss on her forehead and immediately headed out of her room.
