CHAPTER 8 - SHE IS MINE

Sebastian’s POV: Wedding day

Early the next day, it was already a few hours before the big event and the next thing Sebastian realized was that he was already on the resort island getting dressed and ready for his wedding.

As he was still lost in his thoughts, A sudden knock was heard on the other side of the door bringing him back to his senses.

He looked through the peep hole and took a deep sigh and as soon as Sebastian opened the door, Rupert was standing with a champagne in his hand and a big grin on his face.

Rupert stone is known to be the personal assistant of Sebastian, but off work and on regular basis, he becomes the playful best friend of Sebastian, one of the few who knows him well and stayed by him.

“Great you are also here! Come in!” Sebastian spoke as he took the champagne from Rupert’s hand and walk ahead. “I need this!” he added.

“Hey what’s with the long face? You are getting married to the love of your life and yet you are all grumpy and mean!” Rupert teasingly answered.

“I don’t even know why I came, and how I ended up here. I told you already, ahead of everyone else, I don’t want to marry her and I have long buried that feelings I once had.” Sebastian answered as he chugged on the champagne straight from the bottle.

Rupert raised a brow at Sebastian and mocked him. “Yeah right buried but not thrown and forgotten. You know, feelings don’t easily disappear bro. Especially the ones you have for her”

Hearing Rupert’s answer Sebastian gave him a deadly stare as Rupert immediately laughed faintly.

“Come one bro! what’s the worst that your fragile self can possibly do to her? I mean Theresa only had eyes on you. Imagine, despites Wyatt perseverance-“

But before he could finish his sentence Sebastian roared back angrily at him.

“Don’t you dare mention his name together with Theresa! He does not deserve her at all!” Sebastian sneered

“Geez! Calm down will you?! Look bro, what is stopping you? Your fear of ending up like your dad? That you will only burden her more and end up hurting her more along the way? Come on Sebastian, you better think clearly because in my point of view, you will not only be hurting her but also yourself. Besides, haven’t you hurt her enough before for treating her badly and unfairly, yet she is still here and willing to marry you. You are indeed one hell lucky guy!” Rupert answered frankly and honestly.

“Anyway, on a brighter note. I heard she looks very stunning today.” Rupert teased as he throw soft punches at Sebastian’s chest.

Sebastian did not answer but only sneered at Rupert’s craziness and glared at him angrily. Sebastian had a habit of being over protective of Theresa in secret, he does not want anyone to say wrongly or awful about her, much more if someone will look at her with lust. And Rupert being his assistant was witness to it all.

Sebastian then moved towards the balcony of his room, away from Rupert.

“Oh Theresa, why did you ever came into my life?” Sebastian thought as he looked far away. “My Theresa.” He mumbled softly.

After a couple of hours, Sebastian was finally called by the planner to come out and greet their guests and also to familiar himself in the Chapel, since he has not attended any rehearsals.

Just as he and Rupert arrived in the hotel lobby, he was greeted by someone he does not want to see.

“I am truly amazed of how catatonic you are towards Theresa and yet you have the guts to show up here and marry that same woman.” Wyatt suddenly spoke with a sarcastic tone, making Liam stop in his step. “You don’t deserve her, every inch of her.” Wyatt added, as he put on a serious face.

Wyatt is the less known younger brother of Sebastian. He was known to be the black sheep of the Smith family. He spend most of his time, playing around, drinking with friends and his pure addiction to car racing. He is known to be the new generation millionaire bad boy, and every girls are drooling over him. But despite that fact, his eyes and heart only belongs to one.

Rupert who stood close by heard every single word Wyatt said and he knew very well and argument was coming. So he excused his self and headed ahead to the chapel.

“And you think so highly of yourself eh? Do you really think you deserve her better than I do? Remember, she does not want you. She only sees you as a brother. ” Sebastian answered back angrily and the fact hit Wyatt like a knife.

It was a fact and known to everyone that Wyatt was in love with Theresa, but no matter what he did, Theresa only had her heart for to the person who have been deliberately rejecting her, Sebastian.

Hearing no answer from Wyatt Sebastian was about to leave but Wyatt suddenly spoke.

“But I love her and I can make her the happiest person on earth. But you can’t, can you?” Wyatt answered as he smiled sarcastically, he knew this time he had hit his brother’s pride and he was loving it.

Sebastian had enough and stepped back and grabbed Wyatt by his collar as he leaned closer to him and angrily spoke.

“Don’t you dare come near her or I will rip you into pieces. A few hours from now, she will be my wife and no one. I mean no one should dare interfere! She is mine!” Sebastian said as he let go of Wyatt.

Wyatt fixed his self and only laughed. “Try me brother. It’s actually better you both get married soon so Theresa will know the real you and I am sure sooner or later she will realize her mistakes and I will be able to have her heart.” Wyatt answered as he smug at Sebastian and left while waving goodbye at him.

Sebastian was then left pissed and annoyed. He knew very well it was a true possibility and he knew what Wyatt said was true, but he can’t let Theresa be with Wyatt. In fact not anyone else.

He then took a few deep breaths to calm his mind and regain his composure. “I will figure something out after all this.” Sebastian thought as he tried to re-convince his self into marrying Theresa.

Just outside the chapel, Rupert was anxiously waiting for Sebastian and had somehow told Mrs. Smith about the encounter of Wyatt and Sebastian.

Just as Sebastian was nearing the Chapel, Mrs. Smith immediately saw him and ran towards him.

“Son, what happen? Where is your brother?” Mrs. Smith asked worriedly.

“Why don’t you ask your other son when he comes.” Sebastian answered coldly as he walked pass his mother.

But his mother was not liking the attitude Sebastian showed.

“Sebastian Smith, answer your mother properly! Even if you are an adult I am still your mother!” Mrs. Smith answered as she retaliated.

Sebastian stopped from his steps and tried to calm his self down as he turned around and face his mother.

“I’m sorry mom.” Sebastian answered and paused. “I am fine. Now, can I be excused? I believe they are waiting for me already.” Sebastian added as he bowed his head and left. He knew very well that if he stayed and explain everything to his mom, he would only enrage his self more.

Mrs. Smith did not want to have a heated argument with her son as well, especially now that there are guests waiting for them and that today is his wedding. He knew it was about Wyatt’s cocky attitude again, so she did not dare scold and reprimand Sebastian anymore and instead followed Sebastian from behind.

Just before the ceremony started, Rupert stood close by Sebastian being his best man.

As he was busy fixing and getting his-self prepared by the planners to walk down first, Sebastian suddenly leaned towards him and spoke.

“Have you arranged everything I asked you to do? Is it all set and ready?”

“Of course! She will truly be a princess today I assure you that and the song, has been all set.” Rupert answered proudly but suddenly remembered something. “Geez! I thought you don’t want to marry her? Then why are you worrying and making sure those things are in place?! You are weird bro! Are you bipolar??” Rupert added teasingly.

But Sebastian gave him a deadly glare as Rupert swallowed hard at the sight of Sebastian about to throw a punch at him. “Do you want to get killed here today?!”

“Chill bro! I was just asking.” Rupert answered laughing as he faced the altar again.

Though Sebastian have not been actively participating with the preparations of the wedding, but he have been secretly checking on its progress.

Ever since, he have always remembered every detail that Theresa wanted and have told her when they 1st talked about if one day she will get married, so he asked the team to secretly incorporate it all.

He knew it's not going to be happy marriage for them, in fact he already see's and accepts the fact that Theresa might divorce him someday, the reason why he does not want the wedding, so the least he wanted to to was to make her happy and fulfill the dreams she always had in her ever since they were teens.

Soon the ceremony finally started as each one of them walked down the short aisle of the well decorated chapel. It was like a garden incorporated perfectly inside the said chapel.

As soon as the doors of the chapel was closed, Sebastian took a deep breath and felt his heart beat fast as the instrumental part of the song "The Only One" was played acoustically.

The moment the lyrics was sang the doors slowly opened and stood in front was Theresa, in her off-white tulle queen anne neckline ball gown wedding dress with light pink rhinestones as she paired it with light pink and white Swarovski crystals headband crown.

The sight of her almost made Sebastian fell to his knees in surrender to her, to hide his true feelings he tried his best to control his emotions and maintained his cold and straight facial expression in front of everyone.

But what everyone did not know was that he was silently adoring the woman that was slowly walking towards him.

"Truly a princess, worthy to be a princess indeed. Why can't I just love you and be happy with you?" Sebastian sighed and thought to himself. "I'm sorry." He added as a tear welled up in his eyes.
