CHAPTER 7 - DOTED BY MY MOTHER

Sebastian was anxiously waiting for a response from his mom for his sudden change of plans, in fact he had his head down the entire time while he mention to his mom the reason for his request, afraid that she might react wrongly and aggressively. But what he did not know was his mother was smiling from ear to ear when she heard her son mention about Theresa and that she was the main reason for his sudden change of heart.

In fact Daisy dotted on Theresa so much ever since they were kids and had secretly hoped that the 2 teens would end up together someday, so when Sebastian mentioned about Theresa just now, she could not be any happier in fact she is very elated and excited.

“Of course son! So you finally texted her?” Mrs. Smith questioned as she squinted her eyes teasingly to her son.

“Oh! I am so proud of you! You two look so good together. And she is very kind and caring towards you too. You both is indeed a perfect pair!” Mrs. Smith added as she pinched Sebastian’s cheeks while expressing her happiness.

Sebastian then crossed his brows in dissatisfaction and embarrassment as he answered back his mom in a hurry. “Mom! We are just friends! You are over thinking again!”

But Mrs. Smith only gave her son a sarcastic smile as she squinted her eyes. “Friends? Right- Of course. But for now.” She answered as she giggled in excitement.

Sebastian did not answer back and instead shook his head in dismay with his mom’s teasing.

“Don’t worry, you can tell mom anything about her. I like her too. I very much like her for you” Mrs. Smith added as she smiled but Sebastian did not answer anymore and hurriedly left her instead.

After his mom teased him non-stop, Sebastian then hurriedly left his room and hid himself in his study.

Other than his dad, Sebastian had his own study and a mini library inside it. He often bury and busy his self with reading books and studying to deliberately forget about his troubles and worries in school. He finds his study his safe place at home, but ever since he got acquainted with Theresa, Sebastian barely stays hidden there instead he slowly learned the things that Theresa likes and enjoy to do, through her social media account.

Though her account is private to a few friends and family members only, Sebastian is one of the few given full access of it as well. So in his spare time he browses through it and slowly learn about Theresa and Sebastian was very keen to all the details, just like how he knew about Theresa’s favorite dessert.

As he sat down on the couch in front of his desk, he then took out his phone and re-read Theresa’s last message to him.

He smiled reading the message and felt warm deep down in his heart.

“I’ll wait for you then.” Sebastian typed and quickly pressed send.

Days then went by quickly for Sebastian as well.

Every time Theresa would sent out messages to him he would immediately get back to her. In fact he was patiently waiting for her messages and cute random photos Theresa sends him. He was somehow getting used to it and in fact very happy about it.

On one sunny day, Sebastian was awaken by a message he never expected to receive soon.

“Hey Sebastian! Will be going home tomorrow, which is tonight there. Was supposed to tell you earlier but I just received the confirmation a few hours ago.”

Reading the message, Sebastian immediately sat up from his bed. Wore his glasses and re-read the message, as if trying to make sure he read it right.

After a few more re-reads, it then got to his senses that it was real and that he was not dreaming. He silently had a 1 jump for joy.

“Finally! I will be seeing her again personally.” Sebastian thought happily to himself.

“That’s great news! Thank you for telling me.” Sebastian typed and press send. But before the message was fully sent another message came in.

“I told my mom I wanted to drop by your house, I want to see uncle and auntie as well. I hope that is okay.”

“She’s is coming over? Wait, I am the one who should pay her a visit. But- oh well I’ll just visit her in their house a few days after so basically, more chances of seeing her then.” Sebastian thought happily before he sent a reply to Theresa.

“Sure, of course. I will tell mom. And as a thank you for saving me, I’ll cook lunch for you.”

But just after he press send Sebastian immediately regret what he told Theresa, since he was no way a good cook. Though he tried learning the pass few days but it was never near to perfection.

Just as he was about to take back what he just texted Theresa, another message came in that made him more determine.

“Really?? I can’t wait! I will be expecting it then. Thanks Sebastian.”

“Damn it! Me and my excitement!” Sebastian thought to himself as he sighed deeply.

The 2 exchange few more messages, until he told Theresa to rest already and prepare for her flight tomorrow in which she obliged.

As soon as they finished texting, Sebastian hurriedly got down and went directly to the kitchen in search for the Chef. For the entire day, he busied his self, learning and planning what to cook for Theresa the next day.

Evening came and Sebastian was still at the kitchen. But this time he was already preparing the ingredients he will be needing tomorrow. He personally prepared everything in order for it to be fully made by him.

Despite Sebastian and his brother being born with a golden spoon, Mrs. Smith made sure that her son’s are capable of doing chores on their own. And of all the chores, cooking was the thing that Sebastian hated the most, while Wyatt his younger brother was like a wizard in the kitchen.

While Sebastian was busy slicing and dicing the vegetables, not far from him was her mother standing and quietly observing him. He knew very well how Sebastian hated the kitchen, so seeing him inside their and cooking made her heart very happy. What she does not know was the reason why he was doing it.

“So, are you all set and ready for college? It seems you have been learning how to cook? Did you forget you will also have your own cook there?” Mrs. Smith spoke as he moved closer to Sebastian and sat on the high stool across him.

Sebastian looked up at his mom and smiled. “I know mom.”

“Then why the sudden change of heart then?” Mrs. Smith asked as he leaned his elbows on the counter top and looked closely on what her son was doing, which made her very impress that in a short span of time Sebastian was able to learn how to slice, dice and mince almost perfectly.

“I want to cook for Theresa.” Sebastian answered casually as his mom covered her mouth in shock upon hearing her son’s calm and blunt response.

“As in Theresa Wilson?” Mrs. Smith asked as she softly giggled.

Sebastian did not answer and just nodded while smiling.

“You seem to dote on her a lot, for learning something you hate. And- I very much like it.”

“Thank you mom. She is coming over tomorrow, I told her I will cook lunch for her.” Sebastian answered calmly.

But before her mom can response, his phone beeped.

Sebastian then wiped his hands with the kitchen towel and took his phone as he read the message.

“Sebastian, we finally boarded the plane already. See you tomorrow!"

Reading the message Sebastian can’t help but smile wide and her mom immediately knew who it was.

“Is it Theresa?” His mom asked.

“Yes, and she has finally boarded the plane mom. I will finally meet her again.” Sebastian answered his mom truthfully and happily.

Seeing her son’s reaction and initiative towards Theresa, Mrs. Smith can’t be more happier. That finally her son is slowly coming out of the invisible shell he has made.
