PLANNING FOR THE WINTER BALL

QUINN'S POV)

I may have hugged her a little longer than planned but Blay and I needed contact. It's been so long since she last hugged us. So Blay and I cherish every hug we get until her shift and I can have her as mine. I watched as she ran away and met up with Cole. He always makes sure she is well protected while at school. At home, I don't have to worry about her because I am there to make sure she is taken care of along with her dad. I walked into the school and headed straight for mom's office. As I passed by some pack members, they would bow their heads in respect.

When I got to the office, mom was waiting for me so we could start. When I opened the door, mom had the biggest grin on her face.

"Good morning mom, how are you this morning?" I walked up and gave her a hug and a kiss

"Good morning my son. I am doing well. I heard that you have had a good morning too." She says, giggling.

"It's been amazing. I got to spend time with Kari. But I might be down a Beta if Lucian doesn't stop tormenting me."

"Now, Quinn, you and I both know that Asher and Sierra would not like that."

"Why not they have Damian so he can have it?"

Mom burst out laughing at me and this whole situation. It's been a long 4 years waiting for my beautiful mate to become 18. But I wouldn't change a thing. In these last 4 years, I have had the pleasure of getting to know my angel.

"So, mom, where should we start planning the ball s***h birthday party?"

"Let me get school started and Sierra and I will meet you in the conference room by the gym."

Before I say anything to mom, I make sure I get to the door first "Yes Luna." I laugh as I close her door just in time for a stapler to hit the door. I then made my way to the conference room when I got hit with cotton candy and roses hit my nose. I followed her scent to homeroom class. She was sitting next to Cole.

I smiled at myself and started for the conference room again. When I got there, mom and Sierra weren't there yet. I walked into the room and there were samples everywhere. So now we all need to choose a theme and I had the perfect one in mind. I sat at the table and waited for mom and Sierra.

"Okay, Blay, what have you been hiding about our mate?"

"Our beautiful mate will be shifting today or tonight. This has been going on for about a week and a half now. I can sense her wolf getting stronger and she is ready to meet her mate."

"Wait what? Why didn't you tell me about this when it started?"

"Because at first, I thought it was just because I wanted my mate and I was getting anxious."

Before I could respond to Blay, Sierra and mom walked into the room. I hid my concern for Kari and smiled at them both.

"Good morning Quinn. How are you this morning?"

"I'm doing well, Sierra. How are you?"

"I am good. Now let's get to planning. We need a theme. Now your mom and I have a theme in mind, but I want to see how well you know Lycans little wolf."

My smile grew even bigger the moment I found out that she was my mate. I have taken any chance I could get to know her, whether through her or her family.

"I think she has a Masquerade Ball."

Sierra's eyes lit up when I said that she jumped up and hugged me. She will love it. I don't care what her dad or brothers think, but you have my blessing."

"Thank you Sierra, I promise I will always love and protect her with my dying breath."

"Alright, son, now what color theme should we have?"

"Hmmm I'm not sure mom, what do you and Sierra think? Why are we doing this here and not in your office?"

"Well, because they are having meetings there all day and, normally on Mondays, Kari and Cole join me for lunch. As for the color, what do you think, Sierra?"

"What do you think of silver and aqua blue?"

"I see. I love the color theme Sierra. I wanted to ask you something. Is it OK if I take Kari out to lunch today? I will have her home in time for dinner."

"Sure, but you have to ask her dad first."

"Okay, I'll just mind linking him and..."

"Oh no. You have to ask him in person, without Kari or me, to keep Lycan at bay. Just remember, Quinn, choose your words carefully when it comes to his Little Wolf."

I gulped at what she said. Beta Asher is a calm and quiet man until you either talk badly about Kari or Sierra. You had better pray to the Goddess that you can get as far from this pack as possible.

"Oh and Quinn, I will start thinking about your words now. Asher will be here in about 10 minutes to start training."

We'm going to need your help with this one. We both know what happened when Cole and Damian played that prank on her and made her cry. Both Asher and Lycan went for blood and Damian is his son. It took you, me, dad, Sven Sierra, and Ashina to stop him."

"Oh no, Quinn, you are on your own this time. I have spent the last 4 years not only getting to know our mate, but I have also been working on building his trust in us. Now it's your turn." Blay cut our connection.

"Yes, ma'am, I will link him to meet me in mom's office."

"Good luck Quinn."

Mom and Sierra walked out of the office to have an early lunch together. Mom and dad have been friends with Asher since they were all kids. Beta Asher met Sierra when he and dad were visiting Sierra's pack. But that is a story for another time.

"Beta Asher, can I ask you something from my mom's office please?"
