“Atlas!” I bolted upright, my eyes narrowing at the spot where the cliff should be. The surface beneath me was softer and I wall glared back at me. “Julia! You shouldn’t be sitting upright now!” My neck snapped in the direction of the voice and relief washed over me as I saw Greta. “Wha— where is Atlas?” “He’s outside. Alive and giving security a lecture for the seventh time today?” “But…” Nothing made sense. “You blacked out and uh, I forcefully got you guys discharged from the hospital. I couldn’t risk another mishap.” “Wait. I…” I trailed off, “I saved Atlas? We… we made it out alive?” “Well, you had a dislocated arm and he bled out like a hose, but he’s fine.” A soft burst of laughter escaped my lips and I threw my legs over the bed. “Julia, wait. Where are you going?!”
