XXV chapter

AFTER A WHILE

AT THIRD PERSON'S POW:

All of them started slowly waking up. Adam groaned slightly and the first thing that hit him was a disgusting smell. It was really strong. It was like a smell that could bring some dead people back.

-What is that?-Simon groaned.

-I think we are in the sewers.-One of the guards said.

-Where are we?-Another guard asked.

-I have no idea.-Adam said.

Adam then heard slight Caroline's groan and saw how she slowly started waking up.

-Mhm.-Caroline groaned slightly while waking up.

-You are awake.-Adam said and got closer to Caroline.

-Where are we?-Catherine asked.

-Damn, my head hurts.-Dom groaned.

Adam slowly sat back down on the ground. It seems that he got the worst hit on the head among all of them.

AT THE SAME TIME

AT ADAM'S POW:

I started to feel a bit strange and then I saw how Caroline got closer to me.

-What is wrong?-Caroline asked.

-I feel a bit weird.-I said. -What happened?

-I think you hit your head too hard since you felt down at first. I think we are in the sewers.-Dom said.

I nodded and got up. We kept walking and, apparently, this road is part of the road towards the old mine.

-I know this place.-I said.

-What do you know?-One of the guards asked.

-Our father loved telling us about our ancestors. He once told me that after a wall mine was used when the war was over.-I said.

-Why did our dad tell you that?-Dom asked.

-I think it's time for another clue.-Caroline said.

I nodded and started reading our fourth clue.

You found four

And you must find another two.

First you have found, on top of the town.

The last ones you will find under the town.

Fifth clue you will find

In the city's old mine

She hides secrets for a time

Also, guards made traps too.

For a clue, you look where

You see light in the dark

Don't go in a maze type ways

Or your end will come some these days.

--

-It seems that our next clue is somewhere here.-One of the guards said.

-I think that words light in the dark and traps could cause us problems.-Another guard said.

I nodded and kept walking. This road underground seems to be pretty nice and easy to walk around. We kept talking and then I saw a wall that was clearly blocking our road.

-I think that we should go there.-I said.

-I think the same.-Dom said.

-It's the only possible road that I can see at this moment.-Catherine said.

-Let's go.-Caroline said.

I nodded and we turned to a pretty nearby road that seemed to be a bit more broken. Since we are in a hurry, I do not think that we have got another option than using that road. We keep walking and then I see two different roads. I now understand what the note meant by a maze part. If you do not know where to go, it's pretty creepy to walk inside of this place. I do not like it at all. I know that is the only way to get there, but I still don't like walking here for some reason.

-Where are we supposed to go?-Dom asked.

-I do not know.-I said and sighed.

-I think that our father would be useful here.-Dom said.

-I think that someone has been watching us since we reached that sculpture. I think that we should be more careful. -Simon said.

-So how we still haven't seen that person?-Dom asked.

-I think that person might follow us from behind. We should lower our lights down and then we should still go in that direction.-I said.

-I think that is a good idea.-Caroline said.

I nod and then all of us do that. I see how one of the guards starts walking in front of us and then I see how Simon almost trips and falls on the ground.

-What is wrong?-I asked.

-I see a human skeleton.-Simon said with a clearly scared tone.

-I think that this body has been here for a long time.-One of the guards said.

-It is strange that nobody found him here.-Dom said.

As soon as Dom said that, I started hearing voices close to us.

-That body was left here for a reason.-A voice said.

-Thanks for the information. Come out holding your hands high.-One of the guards said.

-Let down g*n. I am less dangerous than you think.-A voice said.

I see how guards that ad then I start hearing steps. I wonder why that voice sounds so familiar to me. It's like I heard it before. When a man walks closer to us, I am finally able to recognize him.

-Father?!-I asked in a surprised tone.

-What are you doing here?-Dom asked.

-How do you even know that we were here?-Caroline asked.

If our dad recognized us so easily, Mia's work was not as good as she said she was.

-Since you have reached the town center. I can tell that your outs are looking really good, but for me it's easy to tell that you two are my kids.-Father said.

-Why did you come here?-Catherine asked.

-I do not care if you come here to take us home. We are not going until we get what we want.-Dom said.

I nodded and took Caroline's hand softly. I am not going to give up so easily.

-I told you that my father could be useful.-I said and laughed a bit.

-What do you mean?-One of the guards asked.

-He can take us out of the traps that are placed here.-I said.

-I think you are right. He can do it since he came unnoticed.

-Adam is right. I know all of the traps around here.-Father said.

-You mentioned traps. What do you know about them?-One of the guards asks.

-I do know them. I am Aiden.-Father said.

-Where here are so many of them all over the place?-One of the guards asked.

-It is because of these roads that most of the town is. Traps are controlled by town security and they mostly use Tony on special training times. I think it has been a long time since they were used.-Aiden said.

-Why haven't you told us about that?-Dom asked.

-It is a town secret and both of you were children at that moment.-Father said.-My job is one of the town leaders, so obviously I must know this stuff.-Dad said.

-It is some good information.-Dad said.

-I agree. I think it's time for us to look for a fifth one.-Dom said.

-You are right.-Simon said.

-Do you may know where there could be light in a dark thing?-Caroline asked.

-I think that I know, but I am sure that there could be some traps, so we must be careful.-Dad said.

-I know that but I do not care.-I said.-We do not have a lot of time.

-It seems that we also have to make sure about those traps where Simon somehow managed to scratch his leg.-One of the guards said.

- I am sorry about it.-Simon said and sighed.

-It's alright, but you have to be more careful.-Dom said.

-I know and I understand that now.-Simon said and nodded.

All of us started walking since it was a good idea to follow our father. After all, he does know where he is going. I hope that we are going to reach that spot in time. I know that we met our father, but it would be an bad thing if someone else was following us.
