I've ways loved to read. Call it cliché or boring or whatever you will but its not my fault the worlds in pages are worth living more than the world I was born into. Its not my fault the only place love survives is in between the pages of a novel. But it is my fault for loving him.

Even when I knew I'd have to say goodbye, I loved him. I loved him with every bit of my heart, every fibre of my being, with every breath my lung took and with every tear I shed because he didn't love me back.

Prologue
As Ava stared at the pair kissing pain blossomed in her chest. He wasn't hers, Drystan Gage made it abundantly clear he didn't desire being hers. Yet as the frail arms of the pink haired girl went around his neck the image became so unbearable to look at that she averted her gaze. She knew no one could ever find out what happened during the school break. No one could ever know what happened between them. She knew exactly what she was getting herself into when she agreed to his terms. Ava knew once the break ended that he would revert to his old f**k boy ways but she couldn't help but feel absolutely shattered. Did he truly feel nothing for her in their time together? She inhaled deeply, trying to blink back tears. She couldn't watch this any longer. Her heart couldn't bare it. So she let the sea of people around swallow her up. Ava allowed people to shove infront of her and shield her eyes from the scene she'd desperately tried to prepare herself for seeing. Evidently she failed. She turned on her heels and all but ran to the bathroom. Thankfully the halls were empty, everyone was outside, watching Drystan and Toianna suck faces. She choked back sobs as she threw herself into a bathroom stall. And Ava allowed herself to weep. She cried until her throat was raw, until her eyes were dry and red, until she couldnt anymore. She wouldn't allow herself to cry over him again. Never ever again. She was still extremely jittery, her hands shook and her heart was racing, it was like after shock. It was only when she'd walked out of the stall and noticed her blurry reflection in the mirror did Ava realise she still hadn't found her glasses. Thank God she didn't find them, the sight of the boy she loved kissing another girl would have been harder to watch. She leant against the bathroom countertop, leaning in close to see her reflection. Her eyes were bloodshot and puffy and her nose was red. She knew she would regret not going to classes, but she couldn't exactly go when she wouldn't be able to do much work without being able to see properly. So she did something she knew she would regret even more than skipping classes. She called Sebastian Florence. The only person who knew what happened between her and Drystan during the break. Partially because he found Ava sobbing infront of her sister's grave after their first fight, and partially because the oversized oompah loompha took extreme pleasure in sticking his nose in other people's business (Not like anyone could stop him when his family was as rich as sultans). Sebastian was drunk off his ass and also visiting lost loved ones when he stumbled across her. He reaked of liquor and his reputation at Willows Creak Academy had her jumping out of her skin. Ava was hopelessly afraid of him, his tall muscular stature alone was enough to make anyone piss their pants. But with all the rumours she'd heard of his viscous acts of cruelty amongst the socilaties of the world she honest to God nearly passed out. But even in his drunken haze, he took pity on her. He sat with her, to her surprise holding her, until she stopped crying. Of course they pretended it didn't happen. Until their paths aligned again. In the form of a Charity Ball. Her quiet bookworm self was already reluctant to attend an event where there would be dozens of people constantly judging her, her night reached its c****x when Drystan arrived, with a leggy redhead on his arm. Right after he'd....ended their 'agreement'. She briskly left the ballroom and cried against a tree outside the Florence's Estate. She wasn't alone for long because the host's son joined her. And again he just sat with her, not touching her this time because he was in a sober state of mind. "Do you want me to hit him for you?" He offered once her cries turned into sniffles. Ava giggled, and in that moment most of her fear for Sebastian disappeared. She fished her phone out of her pocket and dialed him. "Where do you want me to meet you, Anna?" His deep voice ring out over the phone. He'd seen it too. "Could you meet me by your car in the parking lot?" She heard some shuffling before he awnsered, "Five minutes." Ava ended the call left the bathroom. Walking down that halls almost at the doors of the school when someone calls out to her. "Going to f**k your boy toy again, Love?" She froze. He couldn't possibly be serious? Drystan couldn't possibly be trying to make her feel bad for something she hadn't even done. Then Ava felt him. His hand lazily on her waist and his lips against her neck. With one harsh pull her back was against his front and his arms wrapped around her like winding ivy. "Well I suppose it's for the best. I could never love you. Maybe he can?" His mocking voice was the last thing she heard before the edges of the room blurred and she slipped into darkness. When she woke up Sebastian was sitting in a chair next to her hospital bed with a black eye, refusing to tell her how he got it. Instead he lectured her about what she's been doing to herself. Apparently she passed out from stress, exhaustion and lack of nutrition. Ava couldn't really bring herself to care though. She'd met the person she knew she would love forever at the young age of eighteen and he didn't want her.
