Sophia POV
As I walked along the beach, I found friendship in the stranger I met, Chris. We talked about our lives, our favorite books although Chris wasn't too interested in books, and the places we had traveled. Chris was empathetic to my pain and listened attentively as I told him about the loss of her pack.
"You must really love this man, all you talk about is him and no one else why would you be so dependent on one man" Chris said.
"I can feel your pain, Sophia," Chris added, "it must be very hard to lose a close community like that."
I nodded, tears welling up in my eyes. "I just feel so alone now, like I don't belong anywhere."
"You belong with yourself," Chris said, "and with the people who truly care about you. You are not defined by the groups you belong to, but by who you are as a person."
I smiled weakly. "You're right. I have to find my own way to belong somewhere."
"Exactly," Chris said, placing a reassuring hand on My shoulder. "The pack was an important part of your life, but it doesn't define you. You're still the same strong, brave person you were before."
I stared at Chris with gratitude. "Thank you, Chris, you have no idea how much your words mean to me."
Chris smiled warmly. "Anytime, Sophia. I'm here for you."
We exchanged numbers and promised to keep in touch.
I felt a sense of connection and hopefulness I hadn't felt in a while. I knew that I had made a friend in Chris and that I would be okay, no matter where life led me.
Chris, however, was persistent with me . He couldn't resist being drawn to me which was confusing to me. I always thought I was worthless, I tried to avoid him and he soon started to appear in the same places where I would be. I found him hard to resist, and I also felt herself wanting him more and more.
As our paths continued to intertwine, Chris and I couldn't deny the growing connection between us. Our encounters became more frequent, filled with lingering glances, accidental touches, and subtle flirtations. Both Chris and I found ourselves gravitating towards each other, unable to resist the magnetic pull that seemed to grow stronger with each passing day.
I was at the coffee shop, working on My laptop, when I noticed Chris walk in. I tried to pretend that I didn't see him, but he quickly made his way to the table next to mine.
"Hey, Sophia," Chris said, flashing me a smile. "Mind if I join you?"
I hesitated for a moment but eventually nodded her head. Chris took a seat in the chair next to mine, and we both went back to our work. However, I found it hard to concentrate with Chris so close by. I couldn't help but feel drawn to him.
"So, what are you working on?" Chris asked, breaking the silence.
"Just some writing," I replied, trying to mask My nervousness.
Chris leaned over and peered at my laptop screen. "Looks interesting. What's it about?"
I blushed. "It's just a hobby, really. I've always enjoyed writing."
Chris nodded, looking impressed. "That's cool. I've always admired people who can write. It takes a lot of talent."
I smiled, feeling flattered by his words. We continued talking, and before I knew it, several hours had passed. We decided to take a break and grab some lunch together.
As we walked to the restaurant, I felt myself growing more and more attracted to Chris. I couldn't deny the chemistry between us. It was like we were meant to be together.
Over lunch, we talked about our interests, hobbies, and dreams. I learned that Chris was an artist and had a passion for painting. He showed me some photos of his artwork, and I was blown away by how talented he was.
"I'm not as good as you," I said, feeling a little envious. I continued to stare at him trying to hide the blushes he had within due to, whenever I stared at him, I couldn't help but wonder if he was aware of the fact that he could share his secret about being a werewolf with me.
Chris shook his head. "Nonsense. Your writing is amazing. We should collaborate sometime. You write the story, and I'll paint the characters."
I felt a rush of excitement. It was like all my dreams were coming true. I had never felt so alive.
After lunch, we went for a walk in the park. We talked about everything and nothing, enjoying each other's company. As we strolled along the path, I couldn't help but feel like this was where I belonged - by Chris's side.
As we reached the end of the trail, Chris turned to her, a serious look on his face. "Sophia, I know we just met, but I can't ignore the connection between us."
My heart skipped a beat. I knew exactly what he was talking about. But I was scared of Risking that much for a new found feeling I had in me for Chris, he was so mysterious about everything and made me contemplate, but I wasn't ready to spend the rest of my day regretting my decision .
"I feel it too," I said, blushing. I can't deprive myself of the life I deserve just for a past mistake.
Chris took my hand in his, and I felt like I had come home.
Chris decided to take one on a stroll around the woods close to the coffee shop.
"Would it be safe?". I was a bit frightened.
"You are a werewolf and I also know you are aware of the fact that I am also a werewolf". He said, smiling at me, I stopped working, shocked at his revelation, so he was trying to hide it from me and what could he possibly want from me.
I felt my heart racing as Chris took my hand in his. We decided to walk down to the wood instead of entering any transport due to the fact that it was closer, Chris continued to take me deeper into the wood which made me very uncomfortable.
Suddenly, I heard a growl coming from the nearby woods. My heart sank, and I knew that the danger was imminent.
"What was that?" I asked, looking around anxiously.
Chris raised his head, his eyes glowing. "We need to go. Now!."
