Chapter 2

Soon enough the car came to a stop in front of a beautiful building. It looked like it was built centuries ago. Grey stone walls and 15th century architecture, but the plants around the building looked spectacular. The greens of the plants intertwined perfectly with the grey stone. As I opened the car door, a woman came from the behind of the building. — Elenor? — Yes. That’s me. — Hello. It’s a pleasure to have you hear. I am Fiona, the leader of the coven. — Nice to meet you Fiona. The pleasure is all mine. This place looks beautiful. I can’t wait to see the whole place. — We will have a tour for you after we talk, if that’s alright. — Yes of course. — Great. Follow me this way. Fiona led me the way she came and I found ourselves in a magical garden. We walked to a gazebo, where tea was already served. We sat there, and no one was around. We were having some small talk, when suddenly Fiona made a sound barrier.  — What is this for? — I wanted to discuss something with you, Elenor, that no one should know. — I am all ears. — First of all, I know who you truly are, your highness. I think my face was so shocked, that it didn’t even move. When my shock subsided, she spoke again. — I know who you are, because I know your parents, and as heads of the council, they had to disclose information regarding their relationship and their offsprings.  — So, how long have you known? — Since the day you were born. — And you know about my powers? — I do. I know that you are a very powerful witch, and I can feel your grandmother’s magical energy radiating from you. — You knew my grandmother? — I know I don’t look it, but I am 578 years old.  My face was in complete shock again. Witches don’t usually live that long. Up to 200 for the most part. She continued. — I never met my mate, but over the years, my age started showing a bit.  She looked to be about 35 years old, and I knew that she was older, but I never thought that much older.  — I am sorry for my shocked expression, I just haven’t heard of any witches living that long and not finding their mates. I don’t think I have heard of anyone living and not finding their mate for that long. — Don't worry, your highness. Things like this happen. Sometimes, we are destined to do other significant things before we meet our mates and live the happily ever after it is supposed to be. And you are turning 121 soon, correct? — yes, in August. And that is why I am here. I didn’t know how to bring this up, but as you already know who I am, it is better if I get right to business. You probably know of my parents idea to unite the supernatural world into one with me as the head. — I do actually. That was something we discussed together.  — Well, I spent the last 99 years traveling the world, I visited nearly every pack, every witch coven, and vampire house there is. I wanted to get acquainted with the people. I also made a name for myself in the human world with my billions of dollars worth companies. And while in human world, I also met roughs and loners, supernatural beings without a home. — Yes, I have been following your whereabouts very precisely. — If you have done that, do you also know about Moonlight? — I am afraid I haven’t heard of that. What is that? — Well, Moonlight isn’t a thing. It’s a place. The new so called capital for all supernatural beings. As you know, my companies have made a fortune, but what you don’t know, is how I used that fortune. I bought a huge pice of land from the US government and built a whole city. The place will be ready before my parents announce my existence. And I wanted you to know about it. The place will always be welcome to you and the members of this coven. — Thank you your highness.  — Please stop calling me that. Eleanor is just fine. — Of course, Eleanor. — Now, that we have discussed everything, maybe it’s time for the tour you promised? — Of course. Right this way. We got up and walked around the compound. The place is amazing. The residents are amazing. I just love it here. As we get closer to a building the feeling I was having earlier grows even bigger, so I stop right in front of it. — And that is our orphanage. We usually don’t have many kids here, but recently the number of kids in here grew. — Can we go inside? — Of course. We walk inside and I see a woman trying to comfort a crying baby. I suddenly feel the urge to comfort that baby myself, so I walk up to her and ask. — Can I try? — Of course. She says and hands me the baby. A few seconds later, as if feeling the touch of a different person, she opens her beautiful dark brown eyes and looks right into mine. She stops crying and smiles at me. I smile back and I feel a bond is made between us. A parental bond. After looking at me for a few minutes, she closes her eyes and goes to sleep. I look up to see Fiona and that other young woman looking at me with loving eyes. I don’t know what happened exactly, so I ask Fiona. — You made a bond with this beautiful baby girl. A maternal bond. She sees you as her mother. — What happened to her biological parents? — Her father was a werewolf that died before she was born. Her mother was a member of my coven. She was really sweet, but she was young. After the death of her mate, she lived only for the baby, but when the baby was born, she was sure that her baby would get a new family, and she was finally able to reconcile with her beloved mate.  I was about to ask if they knew whether she is a wolf or a witch, when I felt it, her aura. It’s different. She is a hybrid. Like me.  — Did you know that she is a hybrid? I said looking at my new baby. As I didn’t get any response, I looked up and saw shocked faces looking back at me. — What? — How did you know? — Know what? — What she is? It’s so early. — Don’t you feel her aura? It is unique, just like mine. — I am afraid we don’t have the ability, Eleanor. — No worries. I feel that, and that is enough. But what is going to happen now? — Well, you want her, right? — Of course I do. I already have the bond with her. She is now my baby girl and I am never letting her go. — Great. Then we will make adoption papers ready, and as soon as you sign you can leave with her. — perfect.  I followed Fiona to her office which was in the first building that I saw when I arrived to the compound, she got all of the papers ready, I signed them, and after giving me a copy she said. — I am really happy that you were the one chosen to be this girl’d mother. You will make an amazing one. — Thank you, Fiona — Can I ask you something. — Of course. — Have you decided what you are going to name her? — Actually, yes. Her name is Elizabeth Rebecca Andrea Lancaster. After the three most important women in my life. My mom, grandmother, and my aunt, who was the one who raised me to keep me in hiding.  — The name is beautiful, and the meaning of it, even more. I smiled at her. — I think it’s time for us to leave. — of course. Have a safe trip back, Eleanor and Elizabeth.  — Thank you. We got out of the building and Andreas was already waiting for me at the front. As he saw the baby in my hands his face was pure shock. I said my last goodbyes to Fiona and joined Andreas by the car. — Who. Who is this. — Andreas, meet Lizzie. My daughter. — Wh… wha? — I just adopted her. It’s a very long story. One I will tell you on the ride back. And that is what I did. I told him everything that happened in the compound up to the point when I left with my new baby in my arms. Fiona told me she is only 6 days old. She is so tiny and perfect and she is mine. On our way back to the hotel, I checked in with Kevin and Anastasia, who were done with the meeting in human world, and I asked them to meet me in the hotel. I also called the hotel manager and gave her a list of items to buy before my return. The list included a few clothe options for a baby girl, diapers, baby wipes, formula, a carseat and a few other necessities.
