Mitch - Cover up

Mitch was up at the first sign of sun, in truth he wasn't sure if he had slept at all. He had spent most of his night with Jackson and Lilly, she was amazing he wasn't sure if it were because she was different but there was just something captivating about her. He knew they were not mates, Dash would have sensed it if they were, but Mitch hadn't found his mate yet and right now he hoped he never would.

He got dressed into a black shirt and jeans after getting a shower, it felt strange his whole body being covered in clothes he felt restricted. He was heading into the human world, and they wore clothes, the Alpha had granted them permission to take one of the packs cars as there would be more than just the twins attending. Joining them was Cami and Archy, they were also children of the betas Cami was training to be a tracker she was smart and strong, she also knew she was beautiful she knew how to get what she wanted. Mitch had dated her for a little while when he first turned, but it hadn't worked out as she was always looking for something else. Archy was a cool guy pretty chilled, but he was built well, he would be next in line for Alpha out of the ranking kids if it wasn't for Mitch who was just that little older. As of course the Alpha didn't have any children after his mate was killed by vampires while she was pregnant. It was a sad time.

The drive to the university would have been perfect if they could have picked Lilly up to however, the car was full, and they didn't want anyone to know. Not yet but no doubt they would soon find out as well Lilly smelt different to the humans this day would be very interesting. To everyone else in the car their mission was to mingle with the humans and learn as well as keep a look out for anything strange rogues other packs. This university fell just outside the pack territory, but they were the only pack around for a couple of miles.

They all got out of the car all eyes were on them on campus, to be fair to the humans they hadn't truly been exposed to the well-built forms of the wolfs but now there was four of them. They agreed to meet back at the end of the day, Cami went in the direction of the football field where the human boys were warming up. Archy chose to head to the food court as he had skipped breakfast and wolves were constantly hungry. Now they were along Jackson spoke to Mitch in a hushed tone.

“This is going to be like a big game of hide-and-seek, until we know more she can't meet the others. So just keep her occupied, and I will meet you at lunch. I'm going to head to the library”

Jackson didn't really give Mitch time to respond as he walked away in the direction he hoped was the library. Mitch walked into the main campus his nose telling him she was here. He just hoped the others would be to distracted to pin point her scent, it was strange it smelt like there's but it was strange it was sweet alluring but sickening sweet.

“I'm sure you could grow to love it” Dash declared in Mitches head. He pushed his wolf down he didn't need distractions today. He made his way to the lecture hall following her scent as he walked in it took him only a few moments to spot her. He couldn't deny he was happy to see her again. However, he inwardly growled there wasn't a seat free next to her as she was flanked by human females on her right and left. The room was full of talking about the weekend and the excitement of tonight's party.

He sat at the back of the room as the lecture started on something he didn't care too much about. His eyes scanned the room bored, there were just humans here. A smirk came across his lips as he thought of some entertaining ideas. He mind linked Lilly as she was close enough.

“Morning beautiful, How do you listen to this his voice is so boring?" He watched as Lilly stiffened slightly trying to suppress a jump as she tried casually to look around her. She finally made eye contact with him, he couldn't help but notice the smirk that formed on her lips.

“Good morning to you to handsome, if you actually listen you might learn something that's why your here after all isn't it?"

A smile crept over his lips at her response he was only being cheeky calling her beautiful but maybe they had escalated to a flirty banter. He wasn't going to stop as she was stunning and interesting, and it was far better than listening to this lecturer go on about his book fetish.

"Heyyyy...” he spoke loudly into her head.

“What” she snapped back

“What are you doing?"

“Trying to listen”

“Oh ok... what's her name?"

“Who?"

“The pretty human to your left”

He watched as Lilly looked to the left a little. She didn't sound impressed.

“Izzy.... why?"

He chuckled to himself, was she feeling jealous. “ no no just wondered I might speak to her later” it then went silent she didn't respond, she must not have been amused with his playing.

The lecture after what seemed like forever finally finished, Mitch made his way out of the lecture theater. He walked slowly hoping Lilly would catch up, and she did her scent filled his nose, it still burned a little it was pleasant. Mitch was confident he had no reason not to be, there wolves had played together it had been sweet. As she came closer and walked next to him, he placed his arm around her shoulder, and he caught her raising her eyebrow. He could feel Dash was very happy with how close they were, Mitch still played it cool. He would need to try to avoid the others around campus he had to make some quick turns, he told Lilly why, and he received a smirk, she made a comment about feeling like a hidden treasure.

There was only two lectures that morning thankfully, Mitch had been sitting next to Lilly however she was distracted by him she had spent most of the lecture playing stroking his hand. Maybe she felt their closeness to not that he minded it made the boring lecture far more interesting. They had agreed to meet Jackson in the library, however,, as they approached Jackson's voice filled their head.

“Abort turn around Cami is in here painting her nails” Mitch could hear that Jackson was frustrated. “She just asked me have I found my mate yet” Mitch chuckled and shook his head as they quickly turned back around, oh how wrong Cami was.

They walked outside Lilly had picked a large tree on campus to sit under. They had discussed mind linking, how wolves in proximity could mind link, but they had to think of the specific person. If they were a part of a pack they could all mind link and the boundary for that was wider. Lilly wouldn't be able to mind link other members of the pack until she met them. She had brought up a good question she had contacted Jackson without meeting him. May be a mistake?

The plan was going well, they had kept an eye around campus nothing strange had happened. They avoided Cami and Archy, and they had done some learning for the day.

The day had gone well that was until the smell of Archy filled his nose, they were heading straight towards him, he could see him with a few of the human girls he considered turning around. It was too late they had been spotted. Archy excused himself and made the way through the group of girls, and Mitch watched as Archy walked over his eyes swirling between black and green. He was fighting with his wolf, but he wasn't sure why he felt Lilly tense next to him. Mitch tried to think on his feet he couldn't read if Archy was attracted or furious he couldn't read his face.

Archy got right next to Lilly, and he was a little taller then her, Mitch watched as he took in a big breath of air he knew, he was taking in her scent. Mitch frowned waiting to see how this would play out, Lilly kept her cool looking Archy in the eye an amused expression on her face.

“What are you?" Archy was taking in deep breaths of her scent. Mitch wondered if he looked as stupid when he first met her.

Lilly's voice was cold in response " Please take a step back” It was as if cold water had been thrown over Archy he jumped back. Now this was interesting why did Archy listen to her.

Lilly grabbed Mitches hand and was about to walk past with him, she then stopped as Archy grabbed her arm.

“I asked what you are?" Archy was frowning his eyes black his wolf had taken over. Mitch then stepped in a growl passed his lips loud enough for a few of the humans to stop and stare but their nature told them to quickly get away.

“Mine” was the next words to come out of Mitch's mouth. However, it wasn't Mitch it was Dash as Mitch's eyes were black his canines exposed.

Lilly looked confused and shock crossed Archys face, it took him a moment, but he did let go of Lilly's arm after a few moments.

“Mates?" A smile finally came across Archys face, he held up his hands in surrender. “Well congratulations man I didn't know” he patted Mitch on the back.

Dash didn't say anything more to Archy for a moment, but he mind linked Lilly.

“ Do not show him Dark Eyes please, just play along.”

A shout for joy came from behind them, Mitch turned to see Cami coming towards them clapping her hand a smile across her face. Jackson was coming up behind you a worried look coming over his face.

“I believe you have found your mate?" Jackson smiled a little and fist pumped his brother, he was trying to look convincing.

“Congratulations”

Cami collided with Mitch " I'm so happy for you Mitch” Lilly coughed a little an Cami quickly moved away a pink flush coming over her cheeks.

There was awkward talk between them all Mitch could tell Cami could smell Lilly, but they were polite and didn't say much more.

It was then time for the pack to go home, and Dash had drawn attention away from Lilly's smell by declaring he had a new mate, but now he had to deal with consequences of that. When leaving Mitch and Jackson said by to Lilly he hard the others talking to each other about what pack she was from or was she a rogue. Wolves were known for being possessive and rough with each other so . the group were not surprised when Mitch pulled Lilly close to his chest a smirk over his lips. Only he could see Lilly's reaction, and she frowned a little.

“Don't even think -" she spoke into his head, but her words stopped as he kissed her. Her lips felt soft and warm an to his surprised he felt her kiss, him back. This thrilled Dash was he deepened the kiss putting his hands at the back of her neck a small growl mumbled in his chest. They then broke apart slightly breathless a blush coming across Lillys cheeks. Mitches brown eyes had at some point turned black as Dash had control he wasn't going to miss this opportunity it seemed like Dark Eyes had the same idea as she looked back at him with golden eyes. Shit

He looked over Lilly's shoulder and the group had turned around not wanting to watch the steamy goodbye.

The ride home was mostly silent but Mitch knew the news wouldn't stay quiet for long.
