Mitch - Pack Traditions

1017 Words
“Stupid b***h” were the only words to come out of his mouth, he couldn't think of anything else to say as he lay a little sore on the forest floor. His eyes had turned to a caramel brown as the blackness had drifted away.  Mitch's wolf spoke inside his head, his wolf was given the name of Dash. “She was different I have not come across anyone like her before, she was like us but different, She was like a cocktail you don't truly know what's in it” Mitch rolled his eyes he didn't care much for Dash's behavior " I have never tasted a cocktail it isn't our type of drink, so I wouldn't know. Now if you have finished just grabbing people” Dash went silent to the back of Mitch's mind.  He didn't expect that type of power or reaction from the female whatever she was, but not knowing made him curious. He pushed himself up from the floor, brushed the dirt off his shorts and run his hand through his hair composing himself. He was glad no one else was around to see him get beat by a girl. He considered going back home, but he didn't want to be at home right now with the other pack leaders there. It was to busy but thankfully training had been cancelled. He started walking in the direction to which the female had come, he would follow her scent for a while try to see where she came from. He didn't run it wasn't worth his strength as her scent was already drifting away, she had moved so fast everything about this female was different. He came to the human town it was late there wasn't many people around a few humans drunk from the alcohol they had consumed that evening. A few people waved at Mitch and whistled it wasn't very often you see a guy in just his shorts. He nodded in return following the scent as much he could but the different scents throughout the town made it near enough impossible.  He stopped near the border of town there were more houses out here, living in a pack could be really overwhelming at times, but he couldn't imagine thousands of people living together and getting along nicely. He had wondered what it would be like to live the human way, but they had to learn the wolf was healing, fighting, wars, and mates. There had been a time when the Alpha had considered letting a few of the younger wolves attend a normal human high school but that idea was quickly squashed as the issues with the rogues, and vampires started to pick up.  Her scent was now gone, but he knew his curiosity would get the better of him, he would try to find her again. He considered going to one of the night clubs he attended regularly but even he knew it was to risky going alone. He thought of the last time he had attended with some wolves of the pack around his age, they had drawn a lot of attention to themselves naturally with their muscular frames the females liked that. Not all attention, however was wanted, the children of the night the vampires had also been around the humans taking advantage of their intoxication.  They had been dancing having fun but then one of the betas sons spotted one a female, they had just started to smell her, but she was hard to miss with her flawless appearance with porcelain pale skin and fiery red hair. She was dancing with a human female grinding against one another. Her red eyes met with the wolves a smirk passed her lips as she whispered to her dance partner who nodded. They headed towards the exit. He was thankful that night that they had all been together, and she was on her own and had chosen to leave. To the humans she may have looked like a beautiful woman just pale but had been graced with elegance to the wolf eye it was an enemy dirty, blood sucking vermin. A hatred between vampires and wolves had existed for many generations, it was tradition that this hatred by passed on. One vampire on their own in a crowed place wasn't a problem as they wouldn't cause a scene but to be outnumbered wasn't a wise idea. He started to walk to back towards his pack territory he knew he was close as he could smell the sun flowers, it was the familiar scent of home. He got back to the pack house this was wear the Alpha liked with his betas and their family, it was a large building with four floors. As he was now eighteen and a training wolf he got his own room, however he did have to share it with this brother. Jackson who was his twin.  “Where the hell did you get off to? I had to tell the Alpha you were sick. I'm sure he knew I wasn't telling the truth I could feel him looking into my soul with them dark eyes” Jackson stood in the doorway of their room, Mitch had not even had to open the door before Jackson had pulled it open. He was rambling as usual, they were totally different. Jackson was the thinker and worrier, and Mitch was the more relaxed, brave warrior. Mitch walked past his brother and sat down on the bed.  "I went out, it was just to busy all this talk about war, mates, rogues , vampires and duties were just pissing me off. I had to get out of the constant mind links. So how was it? Was the meetings with all those big wolf men just thrilling for you". Mitch wriggled his eyebrows teasing his brother with the last remark.  “Everyone was looking at me Mitch it wasn't funny. They expected you to be there as one of the Betas sons your expected to attend. We are the next generation as the Alpha has no children."
