Chapter 22

CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

“I just feel bad dragging you guys into this, if it wasn’t for me you would have still been in hell and not live this miserable human” Elias said. “It’s not your fault Elias, we both followed you and we were prepared for anything” Dinia replied. Elias looked sadly at her and smiled, “You should not have joined us”, “well I did and now I’m here so you should stop feeling guilty and concentrate on your health” She answered tapping him on his chest softly.

Meanwhile, in the hospital's hallway, Aza paced around scratching his head at intervals. He turned to himself inaudibly, “Elias please be fine. This human body is really weak, it can’t withstand high pressure. This means I have to be careful and take good care of it”.

“Aza?” Dinia called, this made him turn around, “how is he doing?” He asked running to her, “Well he's fine, he woke up a few minutes ago but he requested not to call you” she answered. “But why?” he asked feeling concerned, “he needed you to process your thoughts but right now, he wants to see you” she replied and he ran to the room.

“Elias” Aza spoke as he entered the room. Elias smiled on seeing him and said, “my good friend”. “How are you doing?” Aza asked, “I think I’m fine. Little pains here and there, but I’m okay” Elias replied, “Dinia went to see the doctor. I believe he has some medications for me” he added laughing. “Can you believe it, I’m g to take medications? My first day as an ordinary human was spent in the hospital?” he laughed again.

A few hours later, the three had left the hospital after Elias was discharged. On getting home, Elias was laid slowly on the sofa, “you need to take enough rest,” Dinia said, “doctor's advice” she added. Elias smiled as he looked around, “so you mean I'll just do nothing?” he asked, “anything you need, we are here to help” Aza answered as he looked at Dinia sadly. “What about the company?” Elias asked and Aza answered again, “Worry about your health. For now, Rowland will help manage it.” 

With this, Elias closed his eyes and slept off. “Being human is hard” Dinia complained, “We’ll get used to it” Aza answered as he put his hand over Dinia's shoulder, “let's take a stroll, shall we? he asked and Dinia nodded in affirmative as they stepped out of the house.

“Where should we go to?” Dinia asked, “I’m not so sure. You know when I was a demon I used to whoosh over every place in this town and no one would see me but now I don’t have an idea” Aza answered looking around. “Can you imagine these people had no idea for a second that they were almost annihilated but were saved. Look at them loving their normal lives” Aza said and Dinia nodded in agreement.

In Elias house, Elias was in the kitchen, on an apron, and beside the cooker. “The people who told me I should get some rest and if I needed anything they would help are out there enjoying themselves”, he scoffs “the human unreliability Is already getting on them”. He shakes his head, “I’m so hungry. It’s like I hhaven’t eaten for days now”.

Rowland reflected on everything that has happened and how he was made by God to witness everything. “I don’t understand why I had to experience all of this and not be able to tell the story or have a witness to testify that it was not just a cooked up story but true”, “my Rose,” he said out loud as tears formed in his eyes, “I wish you were here, I wish you were here,” he said as he sobbed.

“Daddy?” Rebecca called out as she pulled on his trousers, “why are you crying?” she asked, “nothing honey, daddy just misses someone” he replied her smiling sadly. “Who is she, Daddy?” she asked, “She was supposed to be your new mom but she died” he replied as he lifted her, “so sorry daddy” she replied cleaning his eyes with her palms, “Thank you baby” he replied her smiling.

IN HELL

Lucifer sat on his throne in deep thoughts. The highlight of the day still flashed across his memory, “it is one thing to be defeated by the Father of light but to be defeated by an ordinary demon is very insulting and disgraceful. I must regain my honor. I must do something” he said to himself. “But he has the strength of the angels. I’m no match for him” he added, placing his hands on his chin.

Just then, a demon ran to him, “lord Lucifer” he called as he bowed one knee to the ground, “what is it?” Lucifer asked, “I bring words from earth my lord” he replied. “Any word from earth should be tabled to Reckon, he would deal with it but for now, I am busy” Lucifer replied, “if it was not of utmost importance, I won't come to you my lord” the demon insisted. “What is it about?” Lucifer asked feeling irritated, “it’s about Elias.” he replied, “my dear servant, Elias is long cone and we can not do anything about it. There’s not room for suggestions. It’s all over. Please go to Reckon” Lucifer said waving his right hand.

The demon bowed his head and left. “Everyone is just irritated by the present situation. What am I saying? I shouldn’t be on this throne. Well I’m glad that was not a fight for dominance” he said smiling.

 “What!” Reckon shouted as he heard what the demon told him, “why didn’t you got to him straight away when you heard about this?” he asked, “I did but he referred me to you” the demon replied. “He needs to hear this, just follow me” Reckon said as the two left for Lucifer.

“My lord you need to hear this” Reckon said as they were at the throne area. “Talk to me” Lucifer requested, “Elias, Aza and Dinia are without powers. They are just mere humans” the demon said.
