Chapter 45

CHAPTER FORTY-FIVE

The portal brought them to a tunnel, with containers containing fire for light hanging on its walls. The path it lead was a long one and there was no view of the other end. “Where are we?” Aza asked as the three looked around, “We’ll find out soon” Elias replied taking a step forward and the rest followed suit.

“You know we should be grateful the portal did not split us apart and take us to different places” Dinia pointed out, “what? Do portals do that?” Elias asked, “Oh yeah but it depends on the pattern of their designs” Dinia explained as they made their way to the other end of the tunnel

“We should prepare for anything” Elias advised, “keep your guard up”. Just then there was a shaking below them like an earthquake, “where the hell are we?” Aza yelled. An evil feminine laughter was heard from the other part of this tunnel, “poor Aza” the voice said, “you have to hurry if you want to leave here alive”.

“That’s Lilith” Elias said, “we have to hurry” and with that they ran towards the end of the tunnel. While running Aza noticed they were not at super speed, he said, “Elias we are running normally”, just then the other two noticed that and looked at themselves. “We are not on earth” said Elias and this added a spice of fear in them

Aza stopped and said, “I can’t do this anymore, how are we going to fight her without our powers”, the other two stopped with Elias looking behind, “Aza we need to move”, “move? Elias do you notice how slow we are running and we do not seem to the end of this God forsaken tunnel” he swore. “We have to keep moving, Lilith never jokes” Elias replied

“I’m not going anywhere. It is useless” Aza said. Dinia walked over to him and begged, “please baby, I do not want to loose you. I cannot think of living this life without you or going through what I went through last time. Just please let’s keep moving”. Aza looked at her and discovered she was crying, he hugged her so tight, “look at me” he said and she did, then he said, “let’s move”.

With that statement, the three moved with even more determination than they did before. “We can do this, we can beat her” Aza said as they ran. He held Dinia’s hand as he ran, “you are not going to loose me, neither am I” he said to himself as he ran.

Just then they got to a wall. It was the end of the tunnel, “what?” Elias asked unbelievable, he touched the wall, “is this a dead end?” he asked. Aza laughed frustrated, “this is a joke” he said while laughing. Dinia went closer to the wall and felt it, “this can’t be a wall” she said, “this is might be a sort of illusion, to make us stop in between our tracks”.

“Illusion?” Elias asked, “this is as solid as ever, can’t you feel it?”, “in as much as it feels real doesn’t mean it is, that’s what illusions make you believe. You have to trust me” Dinia explained. Aza who has been holding her hand ever since, lifted it to his lips and kissed it, “I believe you” he said to her.

Elias looked at them and then faced the wall, “Lilith is a mistress in witchcraft and illusion is one thing witches do. Dinia must be right” he said to himself. “It’s all in the mind, we can pass through this wall. All we have to do is to run through it” he said out loud.

And with this, the trio took few steps backward and with their eyes closed they ran towards the wall.

Opening their eyes, they found themselves in an open space, “what the hell is this place” Elias asked. “That wall was a portal and it led us here” Dinia explained, “we are being played by Lilith, we are playing her game” Aza said looking around.

Just then a mist was seen and a feminine figure stood in the midst, “that’s Lilith” Elias said as they waited for the mist to clear up. “Hello Elias” Lilith said walking out of the mist.

She was beautiful with a nice figure, her smile could make any man desire her. “long time no see Elias” she said. “it is good to see you again”, “I can’t say of the same thing Lilith” Elias replied her. “I know he must have told you a lot about me already but he didn’t tell you one thing” Lilith said to Aza and Dinia who stood and listened.

“What is that?” Aza asked, “he was in love with me” Lilith replied him. “Oh my God!” Aza and Dinia exclaimed, “oh yes, but the love was one sided and because I was too high in rank for him, he couldn’t win my love” she explained. “Well that is in the past so right now we are here together as one big family” Lilith said.

“We are no big family Lilith, we came to take back what you took from us” Elias said, “took from you? I did not take anything from you Elias” Lilith replied, “you are a liar just like Lucifer” Aza said angrily. “Oh! This one has a lot of nerves unlike you Elias” Lilith mocked, “Okay, I took her but it was because I wanted to meet the people who took down hell and check for myself what is so special about you guys” Lilith said, “and once I test tour strengths, you get back the child, as simple as that” she added.
