CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR

Just then his phone rang, and it was Aza, “Have you found her?” He asked, “no but right now I’m in our city and I just found a portal” Aza replied, “portal in our city? How?” Elias asked, “I really don’t know but you have to check it out yourself” Aza said ending the call

“Demons never use portal to travel, this is new” he said to himself and took off running to the city. On getting there, he met Dinia and Aza in front of a hazy mist just in front of them and It rotated in a circular direction, “Now there is one question to ask” Dinia said looking at the two men, “is this an exit portal or an entry portal?” she asked the question

“I really don’t know for you guys, but I am really scared to find out if it is either of the two” Aza said, “what do we know about portals? We never used them when we were demons” Elias said. “Actually we do” Dinia replied and this shocked Elias and made him ask “how?”

You know for two months, I buried myself in books, so I read all kinds of books and if I can remember, humans call the event of disappearing and appearing, teleportation and to teleport, you need a portal which can not be seen with ordinary eyes except it is an artificial portal” Dinia explained.

“But we do not see ours, we just go anywhere we want to go” Aza protested, “we do not pay attention to it, after all we were never human and thus we had it right from the beginning. So we never knew what we were doing was teleportation and we were using portals which were visible to us but we did not take into recognition.” Dinia replied, “and I am sure most of the demons if not all of them do not know about this, except the demon of witchcraft, Lilith”

“Oh my God!” exclaimed Elias when he heard this name. She wasn’t an inhabitant of hell but came around often. He was scared of her, she was one powerful demon second to Lucifer and only a few demons knew about her. “Why did you shout?” Aza asked. He clearly hadn’t heard this name before now and thus doesn’t know about Lilith.

“Do you know Lilith?” Dinia asked, “I do… oh my God! I do” Elias said as he sat down at the wayside, “how do you know her? Is she a demon?” Aza asked and Dinia replied, “Yes and I said it, the demon of witchcraft. That is why her human servants can teleport”. Aza still did not understand what Dinia was saying so he went closer to Elias and asked, “how did you know her? I know there is a demon responsible for witchcraft on earth but I don’t know who. I never met him or her in person in hell. I was even made to believe Lucifer was in charge of that area”

Elias looked at him and said slowly, “Aza, there are things in hell such as hierarchy which you do not know of. Lilith’s powers is second to Lucifer and she is the only demon that do not reside in hell. Even Lucifer with all his glory is enthroned in hell and sometimes hindered by the changing tides of hell’s gate but she…” he shakes his head, before continuing, “she isn’t and that is why you do not know her. She comes and goes at anytime she seems fit”.

“She?” Aza asked, “Lilith is a female?”, “Yes” Elias replied, “and I am dreadful of her” he added. This statement hit Aza and Dinia at their heart, “we are finished” Aza said sadly, “Elias is scared of her, what then can we do?” he lamented. “Let us figure this out quickly” Dinia said, “we cannot give up now” she added, “look the portal is still open so we have to decide right now if we would get in or let it close and Rowland finds out about his missing daughter”.

“Dinia don’t you get it? Lilith opened this portal in invitation. If she is the one with Rebecca, then it is finished. She is more mean than the devil, more evil” Elias said . “We do not know what awaits us when we get in, it could be a trap we never can tell” he lamented. “Do not faint now Elias, we can do this together” Dinia encouraged him

“What I do not understand is if she is more evil and mean than the devil why then is she not the devil?” Aza asked. Elias looked at him with a sad countenance and answered, “she was human before she became evil. She became corrupted by Lucifer after we fell. She talked to us, I, Reckon, Medussa and Natial and because of our association with us, she got some powers. I don’t know how but all I know is that she became so powerful on earth that God had to come down himself to look her in abyss. Then he created Eve”

All these Elias explained was an eye opener to Aza and Dinia, they could not believe they were ignorant of all of this and it was kept secret to them. Dinia could not take this exposure as it was hard on her, she staggered before saying stuttering, “so… is… this… is… this… a fight… against Lilith?” Elias nodded his head in affirmation

Aza on his part trembled in fear, he sat down by the wayside and all he thought was the realm of the dead he was in. “This is more dangerous than the last time and I do not want to go back there” he lamented in his heart.

“Time is ticking and it is obvious this is an entry portal and we are needed. Rowland would soon be back and we have to get Rebecca before he shows up”. Elias said looking at his friends, “Let’s go greet Lilith. Raphael warned us but we were careless, now we have to face the consequences” he said as he approached the portal.

“What are you doing Elias?” Dinia asked, “I’m entering first, we have to get her back” he answered moving closer and closer to the portal then slowly he allowed himself enter the rotating portal.

Dinia walked towards the portal and stopping just at the mouth of it, she turned back and said to her lover, Aza, “We need to get her back” and just then she entered. Aza stood up, looked around, bit his lips and ran into the portal.
