CHAPTER FORTY-THREE

“What is the degree of danger are we to expect?” Elias asked, “expect anything Elias, expecting anything” Raphael replied, “but do not worry the powers given to you are of greater degree than last time” he assured.

“The degree of the power is not enough assurance of our safety” Aza said, “you are witness to that”. “That was an unplanned and avoidable event which you all know” Raphael replied and all eyes feasted on Rowland who bowed his head. Raphael smiled before continuing, “this time there would be no loss”.

“This is not assuring enough but what can we do?” Elias said, “so tell us what this danger is all about? Is it about Lucifer?” he asked. “Now that is the right question to ask seeing” Raphael said.

From that day, the trio was aware of their environment, they left home early and came back early. Rowland was always in the company of his friends, scared of staying alone for a long time. He was more scared for his daughter and because of this, he made her begin staying with Dinia. “There is more safe” he said to himself.

At Delta I.T, Elias walked around, supervising his workers when his phone rang, it was Dinia. “Dinia you know I’m at work and do not have time” he said after picking up the call, “I know but this is urgent… Rebecca is nowhere to be found”.

This statement hit Elias like a rock, his eyes located Rowland who was attending to a few clients in his office and he walked into his office with his phone still on his ear, “how did this happen? You are suppose to keep an eye on her, that is why Rowland brought her to us, to you”

“I’m scared Elias, I didn’t know how it happened, all I can say is I got my eyes off her for a few seconds and she was no where to be found” Dinia explained almost crying as she was sobbing hardly. “Where are you now?” Elias asked

“I and Aza we searched all over and we haven’t found her” she said not answering the question, “you know what? Send me your present location, I am coming” Elias said and ended the call.

Few minutes later, Elias was with Aza and Dinia. Aza looked confused and Dinia sobbed. “We need to find her before Rowland is back from work” Elias instructed, “we have tried finding her, we have searched everywhere but we can’t just find her. It’s like she disappeared into thin air” Aza replied. “Do not tell me that or I get angry with you. A young human girl kept at your custody and you loose her? What do you think would happen when Rowland hears this? Or what do you think would happen to her if we do not find her? This could be the beginning of the danger we were warned about” Elias said

“Where have you both searched?” he asked and the couple gave him a list of every place in the city they had gone. On looking at the list of places, it was a truth they had searched the city. Elias couldn’t imagine Rebecca being missing and nothing could be done to find her.

“Since we have searched everywhere in this city, there is one more option” he said after thinking for a few minutes. “and what could be that?” Aza asked, “We are going to search close by cities” he answered. “Ah! That is a lot of work and area to cover, how are we going to do it before Rowland comes back?” Dinia asked. “We have time on our hands. Yes we cannot stop time but we can slow down time by moving fast” Elias explained.

“We have speed and yes super Sonic speed which when we use, we can search an entire city in 20 minutes. And we have…” he checked the time on his wrist watch before continuing, “we have 2 hours before Rowland returns from work”.

“Okay, so where do we start from?” Aza asked. “There are 3 cities around this one we are in, we are going to split up to find her, searching each city three times, taking turns.” Elias explained. “In each 20 minutes we are to assemble her to take turns and when any of us gets a hint or finds a location, use the cellphone and call the rest of us okay?” he instructed.

“Okay!” the couple responded and in 5 seconds, they zoomed off to neighboring cities in search for Rebecca.

Meanwhile at work, Rowland couldn’t find Elias, “where did he go? He needs to sign this document” he said to himself. “Mr. Kim, did you see Mr. Elias?” he asked on getting to the vice president’s office, “he was supervising the work being done over there, is he not still there?” Mr. Kim asked, “He isn’t and I have searched everywhere possible” Rowland replied.

“Give him a call then” Mr. Kim suggested, “I have but he is not answering” Rowland replied leaving the office. “I just hope everything is okay?” he asked himself, dialing Elias’s phone again.

“Rowland has noticed my absence” Elias said as he was speed running around one of the close cities, “if I don’t pick up, he would sense something wrong and may leave the office and that is no good for us” he said, stopping in between his tracks to answer his call.

“Hello Row” he said after picking up, “Where are you Elias? I have been searching and calling you.” Rowland asked from the other side of the phone, “well I went out to get a few things out of town” Elias lied. “A few things in the middle of a busy day? Common Elias you know how today is at the office, we have clients trooping in on an hourly basis and you said it yourself, we need to close 95% of the deals today” Rowland said

“Yes I know but I had to step out a little, trust me this is also important and I was busy that was why I couldn’t pick up. Hey! I forgot to mention, I got another client for the company where I am right now and he is willing to partner with us, isn’t that great?” Elias asked. “Well, whatever you are doing should be done fast, you have a document that needs your signature”

“Let Mr. Kim sign it for me, I’ll be back soon” Elias said ending the call to prevent more questions. He exhaled, “God please help us” he prayed before zooming off.
