CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

After they must have had dinner, Elias complemented, “This meal was not just eye appealing but was so delicious. If not I am filled, I would have eaten more”, “who cooked?” he asked cleaning his mouth with a towel on the table. “I did” Dinia answered blushing hard, “wow!” was all Elias said.

“When did you learn how to cook?” Raphael asked dropping the towel he used to clean his mouth. “Youtube” she replied standing up to clear the plates on the table. “This is nice”, Rowland said, “it has really been long since I ate such delicious food” he added.

After she was done with dishes, she met the men at the living room commenting on a movie they just watched, “You know nothing Jon Snow” Aza spoke, “and He showed her he knew everything” Aza added laughing. “I knew it from the beginning of this episode that he would sleep with her” Elias said, “who didn’t know? From the way they were together on their journey, talking all through” Rowland said smiling.

Raphael watched these three argue about the characters of the movie and tried to predict the events of the next episode. He smiled and thought to himself, “O really wish Lucifer left them alone. Being human really fits them all. Just take a look at Elias, laughing and talking freely. Aza is no longer afraid of orders and punishments if he doesn’t carry them out effectively. Dinia who was the reason many homes were broken in the past, the sole reason of deaths of many loved ones, in her own love story with Aza. Who said life as humans is so much complicated? Wait till they meet the life of a supernatural who became human”

Dinia sat close to Aza, resting her head on his shoulders. She wondered what’s going on, “is this a night out with Raphael? Didn’t we come to this house to hear a plan and know how we can defend ourselves? It doesn’t seem like it. What is really going on” she turned towards Raphael, and watched him for a moment before turning back, “Raphael doesn’t seem like someone who is on errand and who has something to say to us”, she thought, “he seems to be enjoying tonight”.

Just then the wall clock ticked 12am and as soon as Raphael saw this, he stood up, clearing his throat signaling for audience. “It’s time to get to know the plan which brought me here but before I say what it is, after tonight I won’t be seen any longer by any of you”. This statement brought murmurs among them, “why?” Rowland asked, “this is the last message I would be delivering to you and after this it would be the end of everything” Raphael replied. He could see sadness on their faces, they were now find of him and comfortable around him and he wished the news didn’t bring sadness to their faces.

“So what now?” Elias asked, “can you remember what I told you all in the eatery? The last meeting before this?” Raphael asked them

FLASHBACK

“Here is the plan; in four days time this city will experience series of earthquakes.” The angel said as they sat, “earthquake worse than the last one?” Rowland asked concerned about his daughter. “Yes! It would be like the gates of hell were opened. The media will carry these news but you should not be worried because Lucifer will plan to attack on that day but the earthquake is a delay to him and an advantage to you” Raphael replied. “After the earthquake what else?” Elias asked, “I’ll be back in three days time to tell you what next” he replied him.

“Three days time? Why not tell us now, why prolong it” Rowland asked, “I’m sorry Rowland, I can’t answer that question but you should not be worried, you are safe till after the earthquake” he replied tapping the shoulders of Rowland. “I trust you” Rowland muttered.

PRESENT DAY

“So what about it?” Aza asked, “after the earthquake, you all will be granted your powers back but for only that day. It is to defend yourselves but this time your powers will be tripled.” “Tripled!!” They all chorused as this statement amazed them. Aza began laughing hard, “I would be so powerful” he thought to himself. “But only for that day, after that you would be human again” the angel continued.

“Fine by me” Aza said, “So what do you think will happen when we become human again? Lucifer will attack again, he is persistent and once he finds out, he may attack at once and then we will be defenseless” Elias said. “He won’t attack anymore, this fight would humble him because he never will expect you all as strong as you will be” Raphael assured.

“Are you saying we are in the fourth day already?” Rowland asked after realizing the day they were now in. “Yes!” Raphael answered, “what!” the three exclaimed. “When will the earthquake begin?” Dinia asked, “At noon” Raphael replied, “get your daughter and the both of you should be in this house before then” he instructed Rowland who nodded his head and said, “I will”.

“We have to be prepared for it then” Elias said getting up, “where are you going?” Aza asked, “do you want to stay here when it would start? It’s better you are at home and get ready” Elias replied. “You’re right” Aza said standing up with Dinia. “we would really miss you when you’re gone” Dinia added and Raphael smiled. “Just be safe” he replied waving as the three made their way out of the house.

Rowland just sat in deep thoughts, “don’t worry Rowland, everything is going to be fine” Raphael assured him, “I’m not worried about them or me, I’m just in thought. Where will this battle take place?” he asked. “It’s not to be known by you. Just make sure you are in here on that day” the angel instructed. “I won’t go anywhere I promise” the human said.
