Chapter 20

CHAPTER TWENTY

At the gate, Lucifer and Elias was in deep conversation. The crowd by this time had dispersed and it was just the both of them. On seeing these two talking as they approached the gate, Aza got worried, “what could they be discussing? Didn’t they just have a fight?” He asked. “I was about asking that right now because I don’t quite understand what’s happening here anymore” she added.

Elias smiled when he saw them, “Hello Aza” he tapped Aza’s hand which made him groan in pain, “I’m sorry” Elias apologized. “It’s nothing” Aza replied. “How are you doing Dinia?” he asked turning towards her, “I’ll be fine” she replied.

“Okay, you guys can go. I have to go back to my duties” Lucifer said smiling. Aza gave Elias a look which meant, “what’s happening?” as they left the gates.

EARTH

"I'm glad you came" Aza said, when they got to Elias house. “I was scared for you" Dinia added, “it’s okay, and I’m sorry I came late" Elias said. “It was worth the wait. It would be so useless if you came when we were expecting you and then you get defeated and thrown in with us or worst killed” Aza said as he walked slowly to the bar which was in the living room.

“I’m glad you’re not angry at me” Elias said, “I’ll get the hot water bath ready for you two so you can have a bath. You both smell” he added walking away from them and holding his nose. Aza and Dinia laughed, “We’ll do that, you don’t need to do that” Dinia said as she walked into the house. “You know you have some explaining to do?” Aza said tapping Elias' left shoulder softly before following Dinia inside.

Smiles followed Elias ‘face as he reminisced on his fight with Lucifer. “Never in my wildest dreams have I ever thought I would have a duel with the devil not to mention defeating him”, “I feel so happy and powerful”, “No wonder the devil boasts so much in hell. I’m sure he won’t boast of being undefeated by any demon again”.

“So full of smiles huh!” Raphael spoke up after observing him for a while. “What in the hell are you doing here?” Elias asked as he discovered Raphael sitting just opposite him with legs crossed. “Well, I came here to congratulate you on your victory” the angel said. “How long have you been watching me?” Elias asked again, “3 minutes least” Raphael replied. “So tell me, how was it? How does it feel to be victorious?” he asked the demon. “I feel great, never felt like this before. Is this how it feels to win a great for?” Elias asked beaming with smiles.

This made Raphael laugh so loud, “Elias, you need to see yourself. You’re behaving like a child who has been given candies. Well to answer your question this is exactly how it feels but you know we the angels never loose a battle so it’s a normal feeling for us. Nothing new”. “ I wish I could feel this all day” Elias said as he relaxed on his seat.

“So how where’s Aza and Dinia?” Raphael asked, “Probably having hot s*x in the bathroom by now” Elias answered. “Sinners” Raphael replied shaking his head. “Well what next?” Elias asked, “I’ve defeated the devil and done what God needed. So what’s next?”

“I’ll say that when everyone is around including Rowland” Raphael answered. “Speaking of Rowland, how’s he doing?” Elias asked. “You know Elias you’re asking too many questions. You need to calm down, rest and then everything will be explained for you okay?” Raphael replied smiling. “Okay then” the demon replied

FEW HOURS BEFORE THEN

“What!” Rowland exclaimed after hearing what Raphael told him. The two of them sat in the open, close to a lake as they enjoyed the cool sea breeze that evening. “Yes! And that’s the best decision. There’s no use of him getting back to heaven, the time has passed for that. What he can face is life here on earth.” Raphael continued. “What about his powers?” Rowland asked

“It would be stripped from him, entirely. He would be human just like you” Raphael replied. “will Elias like this?” Rowland asked again, “Elias has been wishing for it since he was created” Raphael answered, “then it’s good news “ Rowland said smiling. “Maybe” the angel replied.

“Maybe? What is going to befall him when he becomes human?” Rowland asked. “I can’t tell you everything dear Rowland, when he is back from hell, only then will I outline everything for you and that would be in his presence”, “Okay” said Rowland with a shake of shoulders as he took a banana and peeled it’s back.

NOW

In Elias house, Aza, Dinia and Elias sat with Raphael in silence. It was obvious they each wanted to ask Raphael questions. Aza couldn’t take it anymore as he spoke breaking the silence, “why are we waiting? Raphael you’re keeping us in suspense. This feels like torment, just spill the beans”. “Calm down Aza, Rowland has to be here before we begin” Raphael pointed out

ELIAS POV

“I’m not comfortable about the attitude of Raphael. What does he want to say?” “why must Rowland be in this meeting? Is this not a meeting meant for the supernatural?”

AZA’S POV

“I hate being in suspense”, “I hate this. Why is Raphael even smiling? I can’t decide what’s in his heart” “ his face is clueless” he thought as he looked at the angel’s face, wishing he could read his mind.

DINIA’S POV

“I just can’t understand what’s going on here?” “What does he want to tell us?” “I’m dying in suspense”, “and where is that human? Why is he keeping us waiting?” “I can’t understand what God saw in him”.

Just then Rowland walked in, he quickly sat down and apologized, “I’m sorry for coming late, it was the traffic. You know I can’t vanish or fly like you guys. I just have my legs”. “Apology accepted” Raphael replied while the rest kept quiet.

“So?” Elias finally spoke, “please what do you want to tell us? What’s God’s judgement?”. “He has sent me” Raphael began, “to layout your judgement and I believe it’s fair enough and also the best for the three of you”.
