Chapter Seven

CHAPTER SEVEN

   “Kneel!” Lucifer commanded and immediately the body went down to the floor trembling, “What are you doing?” Elias asked almost crying, “showing you who’s superior” Lucifer replied grinning to himself, “you know Elias, you’ve been a demon all your life and you were given a chance to be human with your powers still with you… And I’ve been visiting you as a human not as my intimidating and powerful self, so I decided to do that now to show you, you are nothing to me and I’m your head and still more powerful than you, In case you’ve forgotten, I sent you to do a job and you have to do it” Lucifer said all these walking around helpless Elias, “I’ve… heard… you” was all Elias said as he bowed to the ground. “Now why summon me by this time and at this place? Why can’t you wait till u get home?”

   “It’s the urgency of the matter my lord” Elias answered, “What urgency?” Lucifer asked, “I want to know if anyone has found out my secret” Elias enquired, “It’s really awkward asking me this knowing fully well that I didn’t” Lucifer replied, “I feel someone else knows, someone that’s not in the level of the Supernatural” Elias said, “You mean a human?” Lucifer pointed out, “Yes” Elias replied, “You mean Rowland?” Lucifer asked with a smile, “Yes, I think he has known something be shouldn’t know” Elias said sadly, “I remember the last time I wanted to kill him you stopped me” Lucifer reminded Elias who replied, “True my lord but…” The devil interjected, “you want him dead?” “No, not at all” Elias replied, “So what do you want me to do?” Lucifer asked as he stood in front of him with crossed hands, “don’t kill him, until I find out he knows what I think he knows” Elias said, “Okay, and once you’ve confirmed he knows?” Lucifer asked with a raised eyebrow, “then you kill him but by my word” Elias said. “It is done” the Devil replied as he vanished. Elias stood up and went his way.

    Few days later, at work, Rose was transferring a document to the HOD when she was called by Elias into his office through his secretary, Mr Kim. “You may sit” Elias said offering her a seat when she came in, “I hope work has been going fine with you?” Elias asked, “Yes Sir, it has” she replied as she adjusted herself. The chef came in with two cups of coffee and dropped them on the table that demarcated the two individuals, “have a cup” Elias said as he took one for himself, “Ehmm, thank you sir but…” Rose tried rejecting the offer but was stopped, “this is your first time coming to my office, so it would be human for me to show you a level of hospitality” Elias said with a smile, “Uhmm… Sir… I…” Rose stammered, “well if you don’t want to, It’s okay” Elias said as he relaxed on his chair, sipping his coffee, “I’m sorry if I offended you by rejecting the coffee” Rose apologized, “You don’t need to” Elias replied but she took the coffee and sipped a little, “But Miss Rose why did you…?” “I feel bad rejecting your kindness” Rose said smiling, “it’s okay, am glad you finally took it… Thank you” he said as he stood up and went to the glass window.

   Rose smiled as she kept on sipping her coffee, following him with her eyes. After a few minutes, Elias spoke up, “Miss Rose, I know you are close to Mr. Rowland, are you?” Elias said looking through the window, “Yes I am” Rose replied as she sipped another coffee.

   “And I know d relationship u have with him is beyond work, it is romantic” Elias said turning to Rose who almost shocked as she tried drinking, “I’m sorry please drink carefully” Elias said smiling, “I’m sorry Sir, I don’t understand u” Rose replied trying to be calm. “Miss Rose, u can be free wit me, I’m not against office romance, not at all” Elias said as he came towards her still wit his coffee in his hands. “And I’m sure you know that I and Rowland are friends” he added sitting on d table close to Rose, “I know Sir” Rose said trying to control her heart beat. Elias smiled as he heard her heart beat increase in tempo… He had super hearing. “Well Miss Rose, I just want to enquire from you the whereabouts of Rowland” he said standing up and moving over to his chair.

   “And I know the relationship you have with him is beyond work, it is romantic” Elias said turning to Rose who almost shocked as she tried drinking, “I’m sorry please drink carefully” Elias said smiling, “I’m sorry Sir, I don’t understand you” Rose replied trying to be calm. “Miss Rose, you can be free wit me, I’m not against office romance, not at all” Elias said as he came towards her still with his coffee in his hands. “And I’m sure you know that I and Rowland are friends” he added sitting on the table close to Rose, “I know Sir” Rose said trying to control her heart beat. 

Elias smiled as he heard her heart beat increase in tempo. Well he has ad super hearing. “Well Miss Rose, I just want to enquire from you the whereabouts of Rowland” he said standing up and moving over to his chair.

   “He has not been sharing things with me lately” Rose lied. Elias listened once again to her heart beat and smiled, “You’re lying” he said calmly. Dis made Rose chuckle and in amusement but in surprise, “Excuse me Sir but how do you know am lying?” She asked, “because I know Rowland, he’s one of the most sincere person have met and he doesn’t keep secrets from anyone he luvs especially if that person is u” he pointed out wit his finger. “It’s not always like that” Rose replied, “well be it as it may, I understand if u don’t want to tell me because he told u not to… I definitely understand, dis love tin also involves protecting each other, I understand but we’ll both go to his house today, after work” Elias said, “Excuse me Sir” Rose objected, “No need for that, he won’t open d door for me but he will for you, so we’re going together. Don’t call him, don’t let him know or der will b consequences. You can go” Elias said sternly, “Sir….” Rose tried talking, “U can go Miss Rose” Elias said again and she left slowly.

   As Rose walked across d hall way to her table, thoughts ran through her mind, “How did he know I was lying?” “Why was I suddenly afraid wen he looked me in the eye?”, “What is he up to?”, “what Rowland said really true?”, “I think I need to find out”, “but he has an intimidating presence”, “something unusual is about him”, “what consequence is he talking about?”, “ My love, please don’t be home”.

   Flash back…. The two, Rose coming down from Rowland as they both lay on d bed naked, “Baby that was good” she said as she exhaled biting her lower lip, “I’m glad u enjoyed it” Rowland said stroking her cheek softly, “beware of him” he warned

   “But why tell me this at this moment after a hot round of s*x” Rose said touching his chest, “I just have to let it out, I’m scared he might come for you, he might ask you about me” Rowland replied with a sad smile.
