Prolonged
Isabella POV
The bell rang out, echoing through all the hallways of St. Michael cathedral. It is a day meant for celebration. The day of my happiness, yet I felt some sting brewing in my chest.
I smoothed my wedding dress, a masterpiece adorned with silver lace. I glanced at my reflection in the mirror, this is the day I have been waiting for. My long wavy hair cascaded down my shoulder. And my hazel green eyes looked dull today.
I don't know what happened. I should be happy, but something deep in me wants to warn me about something.
“You're going to be late, Isabella,” Mia said. My best friend since childhood, called me from the second room. When she was having her make up, our dress was the same. I wonder why she asked us to wear the same dress.
“I am coming” I replied, trying to force a smile, today was supposed to be the happiest day of my life. I am getting married to Daniel Alexandra, the Billionaire and the owner of Vanguard Weaponry, but as I step out of the bridal a chill runs down my spine.
“Wow you look stunning and amazing” Mia declared, her dark brown hair perfectly fit, her white bridal gown, her hazel green eyes shining with envy.
“Thanks Mia” I replied “ I just hope everything will go smoothly” I added, my voice trembling slightly
“Don't worry everyone knows that Daniel loves you, and this is your day nothing bad will happen” Mia reassured me, but I could sense an old tension in my best friend's voice.
As I walked down the aisle, I looked back and saw that Mia already left me alone. She told me she will walk with me, but I suppose I will be happy today, but something is telling me deep down that I lost something.
“Wow she looks beautiful”, I could hear all the guests. Their whisperers.
Rich men from all over the country were present. I looked up and I saw him. Daniel stood at the altar, tall and handsome, his stormy gray eyes filled with love and lust, his long blonde hair swayed back.
I saw him as he whispered into the priest's ear, he nodded and he went out through the back door. I wonder what happened.
The groom usually waits for the bride but mine is different. I am actually waiting for the groom.
“Isabella, you need to see this,” Jake shouted, Mia's boyfriend as he swung the church door open.
“What's going on? What happened?” I demanded my heart beat fast.
“It's Daniel he's cheating on you," Jake said, his voice urgent.
“WHAT.. you must be joking” my voice trembles, a mix of fear and disbelief.
“Just come with me," he shouted. As we rush down pushing past the guests, as they whisper among themselves.
As we reached the restroom, with a deep breath, I opened the door, my heart racing, what I saw made my blood turn cold.
In the dimly lit, Mia and Daniel, having s*x, in the church restroom on my wedding day.
