Chapter 13:
Yoon-gi was in the middle of a meeting when his phone buzzed.
Unknown number.
His instincts flared. He rarely received calls from numbers he didn’t recognize—unless it was bad news.
He picked up. "Who is this?"
A slow, amused chuckle. "Ah, Min Yoon-gi. Finally, we speak."
Yoon-gi’s grip tightened around his phone. He knew that voice.
Kang Dae-hyun.
Leader of the Black Fang Syndicate. A rival mafia group Yoon-gi had clashed with more than once.
"You have five seconds to tell me why you’re calling before I end this conversation." Yoon-gi’s tone was ice.
Another chuckle. "So cold. But I think you’ll want to hear this."
Then, in the background—
A small, muffled sound. A voice.
A voice he knew.
Seo Yuan.
Yoon-gi shot up from his chair, his pulse spiking. "Where is she?"
Dae-hyun sighed. "Not even a ‘how have you been?’ That hurts, Yoon-gi."
Yoon-gi’s jaw clenched. "If you touch her—"
"Oh, we already have."
The air in the room turned deadly.
The men around Yoon-gi stiffened. They had never seen their boss like this—so still, so terrifyingly silent.
Then, Dae-hyun’s voice dropped. "You see, I was curious. The infamous Min Yoon-gi, known for being untouchable, suddenly has a weakness?"
A pause.
"She’s beautiful, by the way. I can see why you like her."
The world tilted.
The walls around Yoon-gi closed in.
He could feel it—the cold, merciless rage creeping into his veins.
They had Seo Yuan.
They were using her to get to him.
And he would make them regret it.
Every. Single. One.
Dae-hyun’s voice came again, smug. "If you want her back, you know where to find me."
The line went dead.
Yoon-gi stayed still for a moment.
Then—
CRASH.
He flung his phone against the wall, shattering it into pieces.
The room filled with heavy silence.
His men exchanged uneasy glances, waiting.
Then, in a voice so calm it was terrifying, Yoon-gi said:
"Gather everyone. We’re going to war."
