Chapter 12: The Angels

I’m sorry Anna, the angel spoke such words, but the demon common sense for those types of angels were that they were without will, a machine designed for monitoring and eliminating  demons, I’ll just ask Elena about it later, but phew, I’m finally home, I really think they should renovate the summoning room, it looks demonic you know, if it was up to me, first I’d brighten the room with more chandeliers, then repaint the crimson wall with something more vibrant, then

Damn Gale stop appearing out of nowhere,

“Welcome back Milord Calix”

“Ah yes, I’m back Gale, please stop standing behind me and speaking out of the blue”

I'm not sure if it's on purpose, but Gale, this ninja assassin butler, would frequently appear out of nowhere and start talking, which is really bad for my heart, tsk, he doesn't even choose the place, I remember one time when I thought I was alone in the bathroom, so I started humming and pulled my pants down to pee... holy s**t! I felt my son pop in amazement when this assassin started talking behind my back; I wonder if he does that with the girls; if so, you're creepy Mr. Gale, and I'll call you creepy Gale; or maybe not; after all, he can lop off my head in seconds.

“MiLord that is?”

Gale inquired, intrigued by the little girl with black hair, who had obviously gone through Ingrol as humans would literally explode at Helliun's thick mana, sleeping soundly in my arms, it's fortunate that she fell unconscious or she would have felt the same shock I did last time, yup that hurts, I thought it was something dangerous but turns out it's just my new body adjusting to the demon world.

“This is Anna, long story short I needed to take her with me cause one of those metallic angels yet again tried to murder me”

“Is that so MiLord, I was worried that you had that kind of taste” said Gale, with a sigh of relief escaping his mouth,

“Kind of Taste?” I asked back, what does this old man talking about? Taste of what?

“It’s your taste for women, thickhead” said Esteroth as she push the door open, revealing three more demons behind, it was obvious that they were listening behind the door, as Halen, Elena, Heather had flustered expression, probably surprised at Esteroth suddenly opening the door.

“Are you out of your mind? Just so you know, she’s five years old” I grumbled back at Esteroth, it was disgusting to be infatuated with someone this young, I recall it’s called being a pedophile, those disgusting fuckers, if I was given the chance I’d unresistingly reduce them to mana.

“I apologize MiLord, I thought differently” chimed Gale, surprised at my strong denial, but he had no fault, there were really those humans that were like that, humans worthy of eternal burning,

“For what else would you bring someone that young back in the demon world? I’d reprimand you for you immorality but that doesn’t seem to be the case” continued Esteroth, strangely she looked a bit grumpy,

“Don’t lump me in with those kinds of people, I just find it pitiable to leave her, when both of her parents are dead”

As a result of my human values I took Anna with me, I admit I was rash and should have asked Anna if she had any relatives she could call or visit, but given the circumstances, such possibilities became immediately unavailable due to the angels' intervention.

“Well not that it matters, but why are you ready for battle, excited for training?” Heather chimed, I was holding unto Asporeas and he have gotten the wrong idea, plus who would be excited at getting their head hit every minute! I’ll pass! 100% pass.

"As if, it was just an unlucky encounter of that holy machine" strangely enough for demons, it was rare to encounter an angel, though I had done so twice, once with Esteroth and again just a while ago, but today was a special case because angels are known to absorb the life force of those who have died, and that angel was most likely there to collect Anna's father's life force.

“Did you mean an angel?” Excitedly ask Elena, Another surprising fact about her, despite her unapproachable look when it comes to discovery of knowledge, then you’ll have this drooling child.

“Yeah, never seen one before?”

“I read the records, but just like you said I’ve never seen one, plus I’ve never been to Earth” Elena Replied looking downcast, she dedicated most of her time in alchemy and had never planned to venture Earth.

"Well, they have those metallic wings and dazzling shining haloes, much like the books, which reminds me that the records don't say anything about it being able to converse." While we're on the subject of angels, I though it'd be a good time to inquire,

“You’re talking about those lowly one’s with metallic wings right?” asked Halen, another contract holder that had been forging contracts much earlier than Esteroth or me, given the fact that she had been doing it for far longer than us, naturally she was much more knowledgeable in terms angels, according to the demon’s records angels have different classes and the one’s with those of metallic wings were of the lowest class and was recorded as nothing but a disposable machine as they don’t pose that much threat.

“Yup that one, when I broke it’s halo it shook for a bit before muttering some words” I explained, it was a new information in the demon world which could be of help.

“I don’t suppose your lying but just in case and since this is a new information, Asura” said Halen,  drawing a magic circle on a piece of paper, she chanted the magic Asura which is something that discerns lies by inflicting pain to those who shroud the truth, you put your palm on top of the paper that contains the magic circle and recite the words that are to be judged, it is trustworthy, but such method would always be verified first by telling a lie and receiving a strong electric shock,

“Is father not around?”

I’d rather not do this method, it  is much simpler if Father Areath is here with his Eyes of Veracity that discerns lies from truth however such wish had disappeared into thin air,

“Yeah he was summoned to the capital, now get to testing it” said Esteroth, who gave a devious smile along with Heather, Halen, Elena and even Gale

You merciless demons, faced with no choice, since information about angels were valued, I gently hand over Anna to Esteroth and placed my sword back in its sheathe and hesitantly put my palm on the paper which Halen was holding unto, I devised a lie to confirm the magic’s function,

“I am the immature Esteroth” I said jokingly, which made Esteroth’s happy expression instantly crumple to that of someone seeking for blood,

The magic instantly put its purpose into effect, sending me intense electric shock, toasting my demonic body, after a while, I recovered with my hand still glued to the contract and went on to prove my testimony,

“ I witness an angel mutter a few word’s after breaking its Halo” I muttered,

I am telling the truth, but still sweated of the anticipation that I might get shock again, but with these my words are proven,

The people around the summoning room, had their expression stupefied at this new information I brought, quickly Elena had written a report, that is to be sent immediately to the King of the Kingdom of Enratas.
