I Shouldn't

CLARA Oh my God! I am finally here.I have just reached the building I am supposed to live in for the next two years HOPEFULLY. I have just met my new roommate on the way here in a coffee shop.She seems sweet. I feel like I am gonna love it here. Leah,my roommate, owns the apartment here.I got the place at reasonable rent cuz she didnt like to live alone. Money wasn't the problem, according to her, she could use good company. I HOPE TO BE A GOOD COMPANY. I am nervous and excited. I got a good job. My first ever job! The screen of my phone flashed.Ah! Mary is calling.I picked the call and her sweet voice rang in my ears. "oh sweetheart! you didn't call.I was worried. Did you reach the place? Got the key? How was your journey?" she laid out a string of questions. "Hold on , have some patience.I am sorry i couldn't call.Yes, i got the key ,met the roommate,found the place easily and reached here safely. Ford called me .I thought he told you " I replied. "No Ford didnt tell me ,gl he must be busy.You know i was just checking on you.I love you. I wish you a fantastic first day at your work tomorrow. Stay safe dear".God this woman is an angel. I said her,"I love you too Mary.Thankyou so much. I still need to go inside and unpack my stuff.I'll call you soon". And with that i cut the call. MARY GRAYSON is the woman who i love, admire and whom i am grateful to. She was best friends with my mom and after she passed whrn i was eight she took me in .She loved me like ger own daughter. I have always felt loved and welcomed by Mary and his son FORD. Ford is five years older than me. We spent our childhood together most ofthe years. I am good friends with him.Forf was the one who helped me find this place.I'll always love Mary. I entered the two bedroom apartment. The room is spacious. The living room has a very cozy looking brown couch with a grey centre rug . It's beautiful. I started unpacking my stuff and started organizing it. Two hours later, I heard the apartment door open, I thought its leah so i got out to greet her but I saw a back covered with a striped collared t-shirt, long strong looking muscular legs fit in dark jeans. The stature leaning inside the fridge doing god knows what! Totally freaked out , as soon as i saw the male figure , i picked the thing closest to me, my purse! holding its straps and ready to smack the bag on the head. Okay,okay, this sounds funny i know but i had to pick something up! I was about to hit hard when the head covered with thick brown hair turned and all i did was a ridiculously loud scream ,"Ahhhhhhhhh".The guy who totally clueless saw me and let out his own scream "Ahhhhhh" .I gathered my senses and smacked his face with the purse. "Owww!" came out a very manly voice ." What the f**k ? who are you? and what the hell are you doing here?" "I should be asking the same questions shouldn't i? " I snapped back. LUCAS With a sharp pain searing through my nose and left cheek, I was unable to process what the hell just happened. this five foot three almost woman in a plane white t-shirt and denim shorts just attacked me with a f*****g purse? Who the hell is she? " Where is leah? It's leah's place . Who are you ? A theif ? let me call the police." I looked for my phone when i heard that same voice now fuming,"Seriously?? I am a theif ? for your information, this is my place and I am going to call the police". Who is this woman? and she seems pretty angry. I can see her pale cheeks turned into a deep pink. It looks cute though .God , why am i thinking about the face of this woman right now? she just broke into Leah's apartment. Suddenly someone walked in the apartment.I turned my head to look .It was Leah .Finally she is here .Before i could speak anything. That voice again snapped,"Thank god Leah you are here .I was about to call the police .I dont know how this man broke into the apartment." Now i was the one who spoke ,"Leah , your security system needs to be changed .Its unsafe now. Creeps and thiefs have found their way into your house for God's sake". Leah's voice boomed," what the hell is happening here?" No one broke in . Calm down you both." So do you know her" "so do you know him" ,both mine and the woman's voice came out at the same time.Leah turned to face the woman.Her face was still pink.Pink's my new favourite color.Shut up Lucas! Leah said,"Clara, I am so sorry I forgotto mention that my cousin always drops by my apartment to steal food. Meet my cousin Lucas". A pair of deep brown eyes looked at me ,now with a different look.There wasn't anger in them. They studied my face by narrowing themselves. Did leah really tell a stranger i steal food from her fridge. Shame leah . I am disappointed. what can i do by the way? I cant cook to save my life.. She cooks pretty well. I cant help but eat whatever she has in the fridge.But I cant admit it infront of the stranger.Now i was the one to speak,"Oh leah ! do you really think that i steal food ? Didn't i deserve a better introduction like ,'hey stranger! meet my hot and handsome cousin Lucas Clementine. I love him. He happens to comeover at my place to meet me sometimes.'"that earned me an eyeroll from both the women.Pretty woman, leah can do the eyeroll.You not! "My name is Clara as you heard ,not stranger" saud the same sweet voice. "Ah whatever, but i also deserve to know something other than the name of this woman who assaulted me with a damn purse! Don't I Leah?" ,i asked. "Sorry Lucas , meet my roommate.You know her name now.She is gonna live here with me from now onwards." " She could have just told me that instead of screaming and attacking me."I said trying to look annoyed." That was self defense! how could i know who you were? " clara exclaimed."Ms.Clara,you say self defense when someone trys to attack you.I could have tried to break a bone in my self defense by the way." Clara's lips parted a bit like she was going to get back at me with an answer but Leah interuppted by saying ,"Alright , confusion cleared.Thankfully i got here sooner.Now Lucas you can really go back to your place. It's not very far .Right next door.Also Clara, I forgot to mention Lucas lives right in the next apartment so we are gonna be neighbors. Earlier he had a key to my place to pick food out of my fridge obviously.Now Lucas you need to limit your visits" I looked at Leah trying to seem diappointed,"Are you betraying your blood relation for a stranger Leah ?" Leah picked her bag and told Clara ,"don't mind his dramatics Clara.Lets have a look at your room".And with that, they both went inside Clara's room.Very nice Leah. And very nice miss pink cheeks. Now i need to really keep that pink on your face..
