"Lily?" I called, kneeling before her as well. "What are you doing?"
"I can see you have no desire to touch me, but can you do me one favor, Alaric?" Her voice cracked as she broke out in tears amidst her words. I sighed deeply. I felt really bad and guilty, but I wasn't sure I could give her what she wanted.
"What do you want, Lily?" I asked, regardless. Her lips shook, and she peered deep into my eyes with her reddened ones.
I raised my hand to wipe the tears off her face, having a soft spot for her tears right now. "Tell me what it is?"
"Would you let me stay for the night with you then?" I looked at her, speechless for a moment. I swallowed hard and thought hard and fast. I felt so guilty that I didn't think I could deprive her of this.
