"Alaric....." Lily called, her grip tightening around my arm. She looked stiff, like she was holding herself back from an outburst. The little veins that appeared on her temples, her clenched jaw, the slight tremor visible in her neck all indicated that she was pissed off. "Do you not realize that I'm still here?" She asked, forcing the words through her teeth.
" Of course, I do." I said, hoping to contain the situation, but Lily's anger was barely contained. Her claws had elongated slightly, carving their way into my skin. It stung, but the pain was nothing, though it was enough to let me know just how angry she was. I trailed my gaze from her claws on my skin up to her face to meet her eyes that glistened with tears and a pinch of redness.
