Alaric's POV
Despite everything that had happened between Lily and I so far, Lily was persistent. Calling off the wedding and refusing to be intimate with her did nothing to her ego. She was desperate, and today, she came to my room once again, just when I was about to leave my room and attend to pack duties.
"Alaric, I'm sorry about that day at the rooftop," she had pleaded with me. "Mom and I might have pushed you too much, but I'll speak to her, okay? Let's not call off the wedding. We can choose a more appropriate time to fix it." She had tried kneeling, but I stopped her from doing so. I hated that Lily was this vulnerable.
