"No...." I muttered to myself when I saw Dean Carol sitting in the visitor's chair in front of Alaric. Alaric seemed curious, which made me realize that Carol was yet to say anything to him. She gave me that sly smile that made me know her intentions for coming here instantly.
I had just survived Jack's betrayal and found out the truth about Alaric's rejection, and now this. I couldn't even get a little break to prepare to tell Alaric the truth about Adrian.
"Hello, Samantha, it's been a short while," Dean Carol said, and I let out a shaky breath. I ignored her and quickly turned to Alaric. He was looking confused.
