CHAPTER TWO: HOW TRUE ARE MYTHS?

2591 Words
"Things change too fast, too quick, and more often," The teacher in Class 2 was busy teaching the students in the class, only a bunch of them were listening. Some were sleeping, some were playing, and some were distracted. Among those that were distracted was Jarek, he gazed outside the window staring at the birds flying freely in the sky. "If only I was like this, I would only be searching for what to eat everyday, not sitting in this dump school receiving lectures I cannot understand. Why teach ethics though?" He thought. The boy sitting beside him looked at him with bad eyes, and Jarek noticed. "Hey Max, hope you're fine? You have been staring at me like that for over 10minutes," Jarek said, but Max ignored him. Max, Maxwell Garrison, born into the popular Garrison's family. It was rumoured that his family helped the vamps to erase the white wolf clan, yes, there was no proof for this, but they were the first suspect. Jarek doesn't know why they treat him like an outcast, but he seems like a nice person, and won't even hurt anyone. Max looked so fragile, having a slim figure, a little bit taller, and a little bit older than Jarek. His blonde hair flows freely on his forehead stopping right above his gold eyebrows. "Who told you I was looking at you? I am glorifying nature," He said, pointing at two lovebirds caressing themselves on an almond tree. "Ohh," Jarek exclaimed, "But, it seems--," "Jarek you are disturbing the class," The beautiful miss teaching the class notified Jarek. Jarek beats his chest with his hand, "Ma? You mean me?" Jarek asked, and most of the class members stared at Jarek. "You have been thinking out loud for about some minutes now," Sasha, who was sitting alone in the class, told Jarek. "Was I?" Jarek asked not believing what Sasha just told her. Suddenly, the door to their class opened up, and a busty looking man entered with Cassy. Everyone looked surprised as the Chairman, and Cassy entered their class. The teacher and the chairman greeted themselves. "Everyone, we have a new student in our midst," The Chairman disclosed as he turned to Cassy, "Introduce yourself Miss," The Chairman whispered to Cassy. Cassy stared at the eyes that were fixed on her. "I hope Mom will not come to pick me up today," She said to herself. "My name is Cassy Norman, I am 8, and I would love it if we treat each other nicely," Cassy introduced herself, and Jarek, who was bored from the class, was geared up immediately when he saw Cassy. "At least, there is a new girl," Jarek grinned. The chairman gestured to Cassy to take her seat. Everyone still fixed their eyes on Cassy as she moved slowly towards Sasha. "I wish the ground should open up, and swallow me right now," Cassy thought. "Can I sit with you?" Cassy asked Sasha. "Sure, you can," Sasha responded. "Take care of yourself students!" The chairman said, and walked out of the class. The bell rang almost immediately, the teacher packed her books, and left for her office, "Enjoy the rest of your day," The teacher said. "Okay Ma," only a few pupils replied. "So, you are a newbie in our school," Sasha asked. "Yup" Cassy responded "What was your previous school like?" "Fun, lovely…" Cassy's previous school was hell in the making. There was violence everywhere, even when they were kids, still yet, the young students had no measures when it came to violence. That is where Cassy got her scar from when her senior shifted angrily, pounced on her wanting to tear her apart because of eraser. During the break period Cassy was doing her most favourite thing, drawing, as she was busy drawing, an older student came into their class, and asked Cassy for her eraser. Cassy kindly told the student that she is using it. "I can't give you, I'm using it here," "Why can't you? Why don't you split it into two?" "My mommy would scold me if I do that, when I'm done, I'll bring it myself" "No, I want to use it now," "I'm sorry, I can't give you," The student who possessed a bad temper scattered Cassy's table, and Cassy became slightly angry. "Why are you doing this?" "Give me that eraser," Cassy hates people commanding her when it was not necessary, so she didn't flinch. "I can't give you," "You can't gi---" The senior had not finished talking when she shifted into her wolf form. She sneered at Cassy, and Cassy was very frightened. Everyone had gone out to play, now she is alone with this murderous beast. She ran towards the door, but the student wolf was fast enough to get to the door before Cassy. "Le-ave m-e al-o-ne," Cassy murmured, taking a few steps backward, and the wolf followed gently. Cassy turned around swiftly, running towards the window crying for help, but the wolf scratched her back using her nails, and Cassy screamed. Luckily, a student was passing by, and shouted, waking the senior student from her jeopardy. She flew over the window, and ran into the woods. Cassy was on the floor trembling in blood. When sighted, she was immediately rushed to the clinic. "It is a scratch, she is not infected. It will heal in no time," The registered nurse told Cassy's Mom, Karen. Karen had rushed over from Askarvard to see her daughter. She heard what happened, and she was very scared. The nurse left them alone. "Mom, I'm leaving here. I want to start staying with you," Cassy used the command tone on her Mom. "Okay, we leave tomorrow," Karen replied. "No…Now," Cassy said. "Okay" Karen replied. "That fun and lovely doesn't sound fun and lovely," Jarek said as he sat on Sasha's desk. Cassy and Karen stared at Jarek, and Max watched from his seat. "I'm Jarek," He pitched out his hand towards Cassy for a handshake. Cassy stared at him, stretched her hands out to meet his. "I'm Cassy," "Nice meeting you Cassy," Jarek grinned. Cassy smiled, "My utmost pleasure" Sasha stood up from her seat, turning to Cassy. "Wanna grab some snacks? We have about 10minutes to come back to class," Sasha said, and they all left the classroom. At the entrance of the classroom, Jarek turned around. "Aren't you coming, Angelo?" Angelo who was busy reading a novel replied, "Go on without me," "What if they come to bully you?" "Nah, they are on the basketball court with their coach. They are training for tomorrow's game," "Okay then," Jarek said looking at Max who was reading a magazine. "What's with him and magazines?" Jarek thought, then he left the class. "Hey guys! Wait!" He screamed, running towards Cassy and Sasha. Figo sat quietly in the school's cafeteria, looking at students as they passed by, and he whispered to himself. "Upcoming immortals," He smiled. He was brought back from his thoughts with a phone call. He dipped his hand into his pocket, bringing out his device. He looked at the screen, and he stood up immediately. "Hello Sir," Over the phone. "Figo," "Yes Sir," "Go to Dylan's office, tell him, I request his presence," "Okay Sir," Figo steadily ran as students bowed to him, and he waved his hands to them. He knocked, and entered Dylan's office. "What is it?" Dylan asked. "Boaz wants to see you. I think it is urgent," Figo replied. Dylan sighed, "give me 10 minutes, and wait for me outside," Dylan instructed, and Figo obeyed. He packed some necessary documents, and put them in his safe, took his car keys, and left the office. "Where is he?" Dylan asked. "Commodore," Figo replied. "Commodore?" "Yes Boss" "Something must be wrong again," Dylan thought. "Let's go," Dylan said, locking the door behind him as they both left. COMMODORE 77 is the biggest clubhouse in Askarvard, secretly owned by Dylan. After he had bought all the mini clubhouse in Askarvard, his own remains, up, and always running. Dylan and Figo entered through the door. The place was empty. The guards bowed down to Dylan and Figo as they climbed the stairs. "Where is he?" Figo asked. The guard pointed at the third door by the right. Dylan and Figo went over to the door. "Stay here," Dylan instructed Figo, and Figo nodded. Dylan entered the room. He saw Boaz Udezero puffing the Shisha in front of him, and two guards standing beside him. "Dylan! Great man!" Boaz, a slightly fat man, having tattoos all over his body exclaimed. He stood up, went over to Dylan, and offered his hand for a handshake. Dylan looked at his hand, then stared at him. "I am busy, why do you call me?" Dylan asked coldly. "Hehehe Man, I just want to tell you the latest abo--" Boaz said. Suddenly, Dylan told him to hush as he sniffed his nose continuously. "What have you done?" Dylan asked, running towards the locked door. He opened up the door - he saw two young boys under the age of 15 sucking the life out of two men. They snared at Dylan when they saw him. Dylan's turned visibly cold, green and black veins on his face, his fingernails got longer, and he tightened his jaw slightly showing his already long canines. Dylan turned around, ran towards Boaz with his vampire speed as he held onto Boaz's throat. Boaz gripped Dylan's hand forcing the hand off his neck. Boaz's face changed, he successfully removed Dylan's hand off his neck. "Listen, let me explain," Boaz said, but Dylan was too angry to listen. Dylan jabbed upward Boaz's chin, recoiling his strike as Boaz's head thrusted up and back. Boaz dodged the sixth one coming at him, but Dylan who was coming strong shifted his weight forward, striking his elbow into Boaz's neck, Boaz staggered backwards hitting a table filled with breakable glasses. Figo entered the room. He saw Dylan charging at Boaz again, he ran towards him, grabbed him by the stomach, and threw Dylan away. "Carry him!" Figo shouted at the guards who were just watching the fight. Dylan stood up again. Figo held him from behind as he passed him. "Leave me Figo," "I can't Boss. Just hear him out first," Don't you know what is going to happen to us if they find out!" Dylan shouted as he tried to free himself from the grip of Figo. "I know, but you have to calm down first," Figo said. Dylan stopped forcing Figo to release him, and his face became normal again. "You can leave me now," Dylan said, and Figo gradually left him. The two guards helped Boaz stand up on his feet again. "Why did you do it?" Dylan asked Boaz whose mouth is full of his own blood. Boaz touched his lips, and stared at the blood on his fingers. "We shouldn't be this calm," Boaz replied. "What do you mean?" "Sooner or later those animals will come at us… As they have always done," "Nothing would happen if we stick by their rules," "The rules that the Snow-white Clan kept?" "What are you trying to say, Boaz?" "If they see us as threats, they will surely come for us… If we stick to their rules or not" Dylan went over to the nearest cushion and sat down comfortably. "What then is your plan?" Dylan asked. Boaz smiled as he sat down on a chair. SHARIA TANNA, THE LONELIEST STREET IN ASKARVARD where no one dared to enter its gate. There lived some witches named the Second-Order Of Witches. Anything they do is for violence, promoting chaos, and they are rumoured to empower some humans to kill the first hybrid that ever lived. "Wait! Don't do it like that," Kyla, the leader of the Second-Order of Witches commanded one of her subordinates to stop mixing the elements whose flames were green while being boiled. She collected the spatula from her hand, and started turning it to the left. "It is always to the left. Never forget," Kyla gently said, handing over the spatula to the young girl. There are about 50 witches in this big building, bigger than the First-Order Of Witches mansion. Two of her subordinates walked up to her. "Mistress, we have finished the previous task you handed over to us," One of the subordinates announced. Kyla nodded her head while she stared at everyone working. "Have you seen Samad?" The two subordinates looked around as they shook their heads. "No, we haven't," "Okay, go your way," They both bowed down, and left Kyla's presence. Kyla looked beautiful from the right, but the burns on her left face reduced her beauty to null. She looked around, and her eyes met with an elderly man with grey hairs who supported himself with a stick. "Samad!" Kyla called out. Samad, the elderly man turned around. "You called me…why?" Samad asked. Kyla went over to meet him. "Where have you been?" Kyla asked. "Went out for a walk," Samad replied. "Okay. How about your meal, have you eaten?" "Yes, I have" Samad replied, and walked his way. "Mistress," One of the subordinates in charge of the meals came over to Kyla. "Yes?" "He hasn't eaten anything since the past few weeks now," The subordinates confessed, pointing at Samad. Kyla sighed as she looked at Samad as he strayed away till he was out of sight. ASKARVARD MAGAZINES is busy as ever, with workers running here and there trying to get their work done against the release of the 100th edition of Askarvard Magazine. Someone walked up to Alde who was busy on the screen of the computer in front. "Alde, you won't believe what I saw today while going for research," His friend, Lukas, a nerd, is also obsessed with myths and supernatural stuff. He handed over his phone to Alde to look at some pictures. He swiped the screen twice. Alde's attention was stolen immediately when he saw the image on Lukas's phone. "How did you see this?" Alde curiously asked. "We were going to the next street after Sharia Tanna, then we met with an old man with grey hairs. He told us about the myths of Passa City," Lukas explained. Alde looked uninterested after the mention of Passa City, and gave back Lukas's phone. "Passa City is just a city in a popular storybook," Alde said. Lukas pressed forward towards Alde, and he looked very serious. "I wouldn't have believed the man too, but he showed us the wall holding the Sharia Tanna's gate. Guess what we saw," He said, giving his phone out to Alde again. Now, Alde looked interested as he turned around facing Lukas collecting the phone from him. He zoomed in on the image, and he whispered "Welcome to Secoy City... So...so.. So this place exists," Lukas nodded, and Alde continued, "That means we have witches around us," Lukas nodded yet again. "What about the man you saw?" Alde asked, wanting to feed his curiosity. "He entered Sharia Tanna's gates," "Why didn't you follow!" Alde screamed, and everyone looked at him. He pleaded with them, and turned back to Lukas. "He said, if we want to die, we should enter," Lukas replied. "That's cruel," Alde whispered, feeling so down, and at the same time excited. "There is a chance that werewolves are not really a myth," Alde whispered to himself.
