Chapter 9-Dylan Saunders

1996 Words
Dylan "Why the hell would you a get a god damn phone if you don't even answer it." I yelled through my receiver slamming my phone back down. "f**k. Who the hell does she think is to ignore my calls." Picking up the receiver again, "Get me Ms. Isabella Stone's address now." If HR can't even get me a capable secretary and sure as hell Percy won't even help me, I'll just go get her myself and drag her back here. How dare she just walk out on me when I have so much work to do and because of her I can't get anything done. "Sir, I have gotten her address." "Good text it to me." Waiting for a good solid minute, finance had given me her address. Finally, when I see her I will make sure to drag her back here. I don't care if I have to do it forcefully. Sure I had gotten half of my work done for the past couple days without sleep but without a capable secretary work will just continue to pile up. And from what Percy has told me she will serve me well, not like those fumbling idiots that HR keep on sending my way. Storming out of my office and into my car I punch in her address into my GPS while I rushed to the highway. It's been a good solid hour until the houses were becoming more visible and the neighborhood becoming more foul. Graffiti was plastered all over the walls, trash had soiled the ground and the people in this neighbor neither cared nor dressed decent. Is this where she lives? Driving through, I slowed down trying to fine her apartment. It was almost four in the evening and she better be home. "Turn right on Leake street." My GPS said. Turning right, I was only met with a dead end. "Stupid GPS, damn thing must be broken." The sun was already setting and only now the people were just leaving their homes. Some with loud booming music. "Excuse me ladies, I'm looking for Stampford Street." I pulled up next to a couple of girls, rolling down my window refusing to even step out. "Well hello their handsome," One of the girls leaned against my door, "What is a handsome man like you doing on this side of town and in this beautiful car." She ran her fingers along my window sill. "Ladies, if you please don't mind, I am in a bit of a rush." "Hey you!" Just then a barley voice yelled from across the street, watching this brisk stubby man roaring at me. "Are you checking out my girl?" Stepping out of my car I rolled my eyes looking down at the man himself. Sure he was tall but I was taller, "I was just asking for directions." I calmly stated not wanting to cause any trouble. The man glowered at me before he took the first swung of which I didn't dodge in time. Isabella "Please give him back. Please don't take him." My chest was getting heavy, my eyes blurred, my voice growing tired from crying, "Please don't take him away, please Jack. Mummy is here." "What the f**k is going on in here?" I froze not recognizing that frightening voice. My eyes rooted towards the ground as I felt a hand gripping the side of my arms hoisting me up gently. It was gentle that I wanted to fall into his embrace. Meeting his chest, my eyes slowly traveled it's way up as I was met with a very angry Mr. Dylan Saunders. What the hell was he doing here? He however didn't even take one glance at me, instead he was glaring at the two people before him. My face observing his facial features. It was the same as the last time I saw him with his strong chiseled jaw and his rugged manly look aside from the bags under his eyes and a bruised that had formed at the corner of his lips. "Who are you?" The elderly man asked. Mr. Saunders didn't back down. Instead he had let out a very strong obstinate aura of which had me quivering in my shoes. If I didn't feel so relaxed in his arms I'm sure I would probably be burning in hell right about now and he would send me there himself. "I asked you a question first." Mr. Saunders narrowed his eyes at the people. "Mummy." Jack cried yet again causing me to turn around letting him know that everything will be alright, if only he could read my eyes. "Mummy?" Mr. Saunders looked taken back as he switches his eyes back and forth between me and Jack. I watch him scrunch up his nose as he was getting an idea of what was going on. "Look sir, I'm sorry but this is not your business." Blocking their path, Mr. Saunders made his way into my apartment pushing them inside before closing the door. My guess is there were too many eyes on us. He however didn't say anything as I could tell he was observing his surrounds possibly my living environment. "This is my damn business." Mr. Saunders voice was cold and hard. "Mummy." "Please," I sobbed again trying to reach for Jack. "Can't you see you are hurting the child." Mr. Saunders did not once look away. He kept a straight face making eye contact. I could see that the man and woman were shriveling under his stare. Any person would shrivel under his stare. The woman step forward however batting her eyes at Mr. Saunders and pulling down her top revealing a bit of her plump breast causing me to roll my eyes in the process, and I thought she was a professional, "Look we are just doing our job." Her voice now softer than it was earlier. "Job? And does this job entails you to remove a child from their mother." "If it is in the best interest of the child then yes." I stepped closer only for Mr. Saunders to pull my back from my waist, my back now pressed up against his hard chest. For some odd reason it felt nice to be held like someone trying to protect me. Never had I felt this feeling before of being protected. Maybe once upon a time when my dad used to fill that role but now it was me trying to protect what I have. I didn't mind, I was used to it however, it made me stronger. "Put the child down now." Mr. Saunders ordered. His hold on my only tightened around my torso. I didn't know he had such big hands. "We have it in our right to removed this child from an unsafe environment." Though Mr. Saunders was already scary, the man didn't back down. "Now if you'll excuse us, Ms. Stone." They attempted to step around but Mr. Saunders stood firm, not once moving from his spot. "Unsafe environment you say?" He questioned, "How so?" "Though this isn't your place but if you insist," The woman began to tell Mr. Saunders of my living conditions. I could only shrink back. Once again I felt like I was humiliated in front of the famous Mr. Saunders. The interview I had once had with him, was suppose to give him an idea of who I was, now I am sure he is thinking otherwise. So much for first impression. "And seeing you are nothing but a struggling single mother, I'm once again am truly sorry it had to come to this." The woman yet apologize and insulted me all at the same time. "And who says she is a single mother?" The woman's face has turn a different shade of color. "Are you saying this child has a father?" The woman laughed. "I'm sorry but it's hard to believe considering your income is below of what you make of it. How will she or even the child's father for that matter provide for this child. And yet where is this imaginary father we have yet to meet." She can't say that, can she? Her professionalism all of a sudden dropped. I wanted to slap her. Just a few minutes ago she was feeling guilty and pity for me, now she is mocking me. Mr. Saunders facial expression did not waver instead he had ran his fingers through his hair before looking at me. I felt his gaze bored into mine. "Sorry honey but you make it hard to find you." I cringed at that word. Honey. "I had tried to find you, but how dare you run away with my son. You know how worried I got when I didn't even know where you both were." Not only did I gasped in shock but the woman and the man too. Their mouths were hanging on by a thin piece of invisible thread. "Are you telling me you are that boys father?" The man sneered. "Did I stuttered, now you are holding my son or should I report you for attempted kidnapping." The woman just laughed like she didn't believe a word he was saying. Hell I didn't believe what he was saying. "If he is your son then call for him." Mr. Saunders didn't phase one bit, "My darling wife here ran away from me with junior here when he was only two months old." If I didn't know any better I'd say that sounded believable. He didn't even look away. And for a second if I didn't know him, I would have believed him. "We sort of head an argument, when my cute wife had left me with our son for another man who I assume left her considering the situation." Mr. Saunders snickered while pinching my cheeks. Ouch that hurt, my hand was now soothing that area. Is he seriously blaming me for having an affair...hold up...that's not even true. "Now I have found her and come to claim my wife and son." The man and woman still in disbelief. "We will make sure your story checks out. In the mean time we have to conduct a DNA test between you and child." Okay now I was getting worried. One lie after another and everything will come out in the open. "Sure, when would you like it done?" I glared at Mr. Saunders because I know for a fact he is not Jack's father. "As soon as possible." "Great I will send you the results next week in the mean time give us our son back." The woman who was holding Jack gently placed him in my arms as I tried to soothe and calm him down, "Shh, it's okay honey, mummy got you." I felt his tiny arms wrapped around my neck, his breathing becoming erratic. My hold on him only tighten, "Very well Ms. Stone and Mr..." "Mr. Saunders, Mr. Dylan Saunders." He smirked. The two people only gawk at him after all his name is probably well known, "Mr. Dylan Saunders, as in Saunders of Saunders Enterprise?" "The one and only." Mr. Saunders smugly replied. He knew what he was doing, the fact that his name had brought fear to others brought a smile on his face. Granted when my boss Percy had mentioned his name, it didn't click right away to who he was. After all he was not only known for being one of the top CEO but powerful too with his other business that was not yet seen to the public eyes. But the rumors were there. Just his name alone had brought fear in the hearts of many and yet girls literally fall at his feet. "Oh...kay. Mr. Saunders." The woman lowered her gazed, "We will be leaving now but we still expect that DNA test." Watching the woman and man leave, closing the door behind them leaving Mr. Saunders, me and a sobbing Jack in my arms.
