Dylan
My stomach growled indicating I was hungry.
After my video call had ended hours ago, I was now just working on the presentation for tomorrow. Looking at my clock it was almost 6 and she was not yet back yet. Probably worried about the prices down at the boutique.
Maybe she needed help to choose. I should have gone down with her instead.
Leaving my penthouse I made my way towards the boutique and only seen but a few ladies in here as well as the sales associates but no Bella.
"Hi there." One of the associates greeted me with a flirt. "May I help you with something?" She held on to my arm only for me to shake it off.
"I'm looking for someone." I smiled.
"Oh, and who are you looking for?"
"A girl who should have been here, she was in jeans and a shirt."
"Oh her." She scoffed. "She's long gone. The way she dressed stated she couldn't very well afford these dresses here."
My jaw had ticked at her statement, and my fist was now clenching, "What do you mean gone?" I kept my composure.
"I mean I had sent her away."
"And where to miss..."
"Holly." She introduced her self as if I would care.
"Holly." I repeated hoping she would very well tell me where she would send Bella to.
"I gave her directions to Rockefeller Center hopefully she gets lost, we don't serve her kind here."
"And what do you mean by that?"
"You know, her kind, Asians who probably do well at buying from a garage sale."
All this because she was different, "And that considering what she was wearing should most defiantly couldn't afford our prices here." If she wasn't a girl I'd deck her right now.
"Because she was different you denied her the dresses here." I roared causing everyone to turn towards me.
The girl who is known as Holly shook in her spot. Fear now showing in her eyes.
"Excuse me what is going on here?" A man had intruded who I am assuming is the manager.
"Your employee here sent a customer away because she was Asian and she didn't dress the part." I was angry, more than angry but furious at what the employees here think.
"Holly." The man growled at her, shock that one of his employee would even do that. "Is that true?"
"Yes Mr. Gravier." She nodded her head timidly.
"I am so sorry about this sir..."
"Sorry, she is out there in New York for the very first time and you're sorry. If anything happens to my PA I will make sure you need a good lawyer."
Rushing out I was stop by the receptionist, "Mr. Saunders." She called.
I didn't have time for this. "You have a message." She finished.
"Tell me later."
"It's from Ms. Isabella Stone."
At the sound of her name I stopped, "What did she say?" My heart was now ramming against my chest. It was getting darker and fear had crept up my spine.
"That she'll be a little late because she is at grand central terminal."
I didn't wait to say thank you. Instead I had rushed to take a taxi there.
"If you get me to the grand central terminal in two minutes I will double your fare."
The cab driver nodded his head and sped off. It was always busy no matter what time of day but the fact that he had gotten me here in two and half minute I had doubled his fair all right.
Grand central Terminal was big so the fact that she didn't tell me which terminal she was in, I had my work cut out for me.
Running through the terminals I had bumped into people who didn't seem to care. Hell I don't seem to care.
Until a couple of men had rushed passed me seeming to be in a haste. Not bothering with my surrounded I ran towards the opposite direction asking around.
No one has seen an Asian girl well the fact that there were many around here didn't help. And I didn't even have a picture of her on me.
"Excuse me sir but may I borrow your phone." A voice so soft and sweet had gotten my attention.
"Bella." I yelled only for the woman to turn around.
With long strong steps I reached her in less than a second flat. She looked okay except for the part where tears where streaming down her face.
At the site of me she had thrown her body, her arms wrapping around me quietly sobbing, "I hate New York."
"Bella what happened?" I pulled her back to get a good look on her face. She looked defeated and worn out.
"I lost my bags and my wallet." Her eyes casts downward.
"Is that all, I thought something terrible happened."
"Actually it was stolen." She confessed, "My wallet my clothes, everything. I had no money and I thought I would have to spend the night here and, and and..."
I patted her back in an attempt to sooth her down.
"As long as your fine. You are not hurt are you?" Shaking her head no, "Good, now." I grabbed her hands, "Your hands are freezing."
"Really I couldn't feel anything, they were numb for minutes."
Placing her hands in my pocket, "Better."
"Much." I'm just glad she is okay. "But all the credit cards where in my wallet and, my clothes that I bought and your tie."
"My tie? I'll just call the bank and get you new cards as for the clothes will go back to that botique place as for the tie I have plenty."
"Are you sure, and the lady there wasn't very nice."
"This time I'll be with you."
Removing my jacket I placed it around her to keep her from even more freezing.
"I was scared," She spoke quietly, "When these men had ambushed me."
"They touch you?" With my fingers I gently wipe her tears away. It must've been those man that were running earlier. If they ever did touch her though I was going to find them personally and make them hell to pay.
"One just grabbed my shirt but it was an accident."
"Are you defending them?"
"No, just I couldn't understand what they were yelling and and..." Her voice became sobs. "They had grabbed all my bags and fled."
"Come." Holding out my hands she took it, "Let's go home. New York is different from home so don't attempt to take the train. If you must take the taxi. Here use my card." I gave her my card from my wallet.
She hesitated but took it, "Eye, eye, Dylan." She joked, her eyes now trained on mine.
Back in the taxi, "We will pick up a dress tomorrow after our conference."
"Okay."
"Why didn't you just stick with the boutique instead of travelling this place." Though the lady was mean to her and dismiss her Bella should have just tell her to f**k off. Hell I would have if I was with her.
"The lady wasn't very friendly."
"I'm sorry about that."
"Why are you sorry, it wasn't your fault."
"I know but I should have gone with you."
"It's fine. I didn't want to do business with stuck up people anyway."
"Are you hungry?" I calmly asked.
"Not any more." She yawned.
"But I'm hungry, let's just order in. Ever had room service."
"Room service, hell this is the first time I have been in a hotel that is so extravagant."
"Right." I click my tongue.
"Even though we are only here on business, thank you for bringing me here."
"This is just the first of many. Now sleep, until we arrive home."
Leaning her head on my shoulder I listened until her breath had slowed down.
Tonight was tiring, I'm just glad I had gotten to her on time. Who knows what would have happened if I was even a second late.
