Puzzles take time

Nicole sat down on a near by couch and asked her Grandfather to sit as well.
She told him everything, from the delivered box, the hidden box in the floor. Josh added the pictures he found and the secret room.
The she told him about being kidnapped. Waking up in the white room, everyone was Russian, about meeting her Mother's parents and the different vibes she got from her Grandmother. She told him in detail about how she escaped, jumping off the cliff and landing in the middle of nowhere.
Josh talked about finding her behind Mount Rushmore and going to Wolfgang Heights. When Josh was all done Alpha Giest just stared at them for a moment.
Nicole let him take it all in and stood up and walked back to where her father was laying. Josh followed her and put a head on her shoulder feeling her sadness.
"All these years he has been a figment of my imagination. A pretend person that flew jets and died a hero protecting my mother. Was everything he ever told me a lie?" A single tear escaped as she looked at his face. It was definitely the man in the picture.
"I think he did what he thought was best for you. Don't destroy him because your fate was never in his hands. You have always been hiding from your fate until now." Josh kissed the top of her head.
"Well that's about to change. Chasing Fate is what we are doing. Chasing my fate." She turned away from her father and looked back at her grandfather.
He was just looking at the ground his mind swirling with memories of his daughter. His heart sank realizing that he never believed her and treated her like she was turning into her mother. He hadn't really ever looked for MaryBeth with all his resources.
"I must go talk with Sabrina." He finally said and stood up and walked out the door. It was time to make things right.
He left Nicole and Josh with her father and went straight to Sabrina. How had this happened to his family. He remembered his kids small and them running and playing. His mate was happy and a great Luna. He longed for those simple days now when everything was perfect in the world.
His guard answered the door and he told him he could go home to his family. He walked into the room and he didn't immediately see Sabrina. He noticed how beautiful she kept her space. It was calming and comfortable.
"Daddy, is that you?" She came walking out of her workout room. "What's going on?" She was confused because he only came to visit every other day.
"Sweetie I just wanted to come and tell you I am sorry for not believing you. Katrina told me all about her kidnapping and escape." He paused trying to withstand the feeling of his heart and soul filling up with guilt. He looked down at her. She looked so much like him with raven black hair and piercing blue eyes. He saw all her emotion looking back at him. "How can I ever ask you to forgive me?" He started to openly cry.
Sabrina leaned into him with a hug "Daddy I forgave you a long time ago." She felt his big strong arms encirlce her and it felt so good to get an honest hug from him. He sobbed for a little bit holding on tight to her. "How can I make this better?"
Sabrina thought for a moment and then said "Take your family back. Find MaryBeth and take this family back." She said her words with conviction.
Nicole and Josh made their way back to their room. She had a feeling of determination as she collected all the mysterious items they have collected along with her drawing. "I just know all the pieces are here." She started spreading stuff out on her little table.
Alpha Giest knocked on the door interrupting her moving her stuff around. He came in looking around "Is this the stuff you talked about?" Sabrina was right behind him with a big smile on her face. Nicole and her shared a look and a smile.
"Yes. I just know the answer is here."Nicole answered.
"Gather it all up. We are going to take it to my security team and they can help us or I mean you." Geist said.
"US. It's for all of us." Nicole gathered it all up and Josh helped her.
They moved their stuff into this huge room with a giant screen TV, peg boards and pin boards. The table in the center was a grey conference table. There was 2 men, Ace and Hadley, already in there when they entered.
Alpha Giest introduced them as being his biggest investigators and assigned them to this case.
They showed them all the high tech stuff they can do with computers and pictures. Nicole laid out all the stuff they had and then Josh asked if they could access other computers.
They hacked into Uncle's computer and had the main computer look for every file with the names of anyone involved. "This will be a while." Ace said and they left it to do its thing.
"Alrighty, show me what we have here and how you think it plays a part." Hadley started taking stuff out of the box.
Sabrina picked up her note she left at the train station and looked at it silently. "Who had this?"
"Uncle hid in a tin box under the floor board." Nicole said and then handed her the jewlery that was also in the box.
"Your Uncle had to have been there. All of these items were with us at the train station that night we were all abducted." She picked up the bracelet "She never was without this and I know she was wearing it as she was shoved into the car."
"Was she wearing it when she helped you espace?" Nicole asked.
"No."
"So then it is fair to say that all these items were collected by Uncle on that night. Which leads me to believe that he was part of the plot but something happened." Ace was thinking out loud.
"Sounds reasonable. Now we just need to know who he was." Ace said knowing this was a piece that was missing from this puzzle.
"He was probably a moon angel." Geist said.
"What's a Moon Angel?" Josh asked carefully.
Geist sat at the head of the table letting out a sigh. "I hired Moon Angels to protect Edward and MaryBeth. They were also supposed to protect you when you were shot." He swiped something off the table and looked back up at them. "I don't think they did a very good job. There were a few killed when your parents were attacked, I guess he could be one of them."
"Tell me more about these Moon Angels. Where are they from?" Nicole asked.
"They are from a different realm and we didn't know it at the time but their magic powers decrease coming into this realm which is why they could even be killed. I rehired them when you arrived just to be sure things were okay. They did not detect the intruders." Geist was frustrated with everything.
"I think he was one because he wasn't human. I knew by the smell in his room when I was there." Josh said confirming their suspicion.
The door opened and Mark and Rhonda walked in the room. "What's going on?" Mark seemed confused.
"Mark we need to ask you more about what you know own about the urban legends." Nicole asked.
"About the gate keepers?" Mark clarified.
"Yes." Nicole answered
"I don't much more than I already told you. I could call my mom. She'd know more." He offered.
"Please call her."
Mark opened up.his phone and called her.
"Hello?" She answered.
"Hey Mom. I have some friends here and they'd like to know more about Lycans. Can you tell us where they are from, where they live or anything?" Mark asked.
"Sure. I only know what I have researched. Is this about Josh's mate? Is she a Lycan? "
"Mom, not right now."
"Okay, Okay. I know that Lycans live in a different realm and they travel between realm through portals. I have heard there are only 4 portals that even work anymore. A thousand years ago the wolves almost breached the realm and several of them were destroyed in the process of war. This limited their ability to find a portal and made it easier to guard them. You know, they say some portals allow for time travel. Anyway, things have been sort of quiet since the last surge which was about 200 years ago." She was quiet for a moment. "Does any of that help?"
"What do you know about the wolves?" Nicole asked. "Are the wolves they are dealing with magical or how are they different from the wolves here on earth?"
"Werewolve exist today because of evil wolves time here on earth. When they would bite a human most of them died but the ones that lived often took on human characteristics of wolves, like strength and speed. Eventually these people were able to shift and work with the wolf part of them with the help of the Moon Goddess. This is how we found peace and started livinging in packs. Eventually the humans found us out and killed us without thought. We went into hiding which is why today we can live side by side with the humans but they have no clue who we are. Now, as for the evil wolves, they are magical. They can infect someone's mind with thier own and make them do things they do not necessary want to do. They can control peoples thoughts if they get the chance."
"What kind of chance do they need to do that?" Nicole asked her to continue.
"There are a couple of ways. Bites, lovers, memerizing someone. Anything that brings their guard down enough."
"Could they make do things like, kill their own?"
"It would take a while to widdle the person's thoughts down, but they would eventually take over the entire mind and soul. Kind of like when first light a candle. At first you barely smell it and after a while it makes you sick because the smell is so punngent."
"Could this happen to anyone? Any Lycan?"
"I suppose. Even royals are not perfect. Wait are you a Royal Lycan?"
"Mom, not now. Trust me when this is all done I will give you a call and tell you everything but for right now the less you know the better."
"Okay hun. We miss you here and we love you both!"
"Thank you." Everyone said and Mark was bit embarassed by his mom affections.
"Well, I think my Grandmother has one of those wolves in her. I think that is why there is an imbalance somewhere. I felt something different in her once in a while. Sometimes she was super warm and loving and other times it was like she didn't care about anything. She was going to try separate me from Josh, that's why my Lycan took off and escaped." Nicole was in thinking about everything and even her grandfather was off when she was there. She needed to save them.
"Babe, how were they going to separate us?" Josh felt sick to his stomach even thinking about it.
