It's My Party

Josh and Nicole made thier way down to the kitchen the next morning. It took about 15 min to walk that far. Nicole could not believe how huge this place was. She loved all the larger than life paintings and fresh flowers. Everything seemed to be in gold. Gold frames, gold vases, gold trim.

They sat down and then Mark and Rhonda came it holding hands sitting down next to them.

"I am sorry I was not very welcoming." Rhonda said "I was just a bit on edge, but I feel better now. I hope we can be friends." She smiled. She was a pretty girl with long black hair and sharp blue eyes. Her skin olive color giving her a very exotic look.

Nicole hugged her, excited to have a cousin "Of course! I need a friend. I never really had any growning up." Nicole had never thought it was wrong not to have friends but now that she knows what she knows, it looks different. Nicole hugged her again "What do you usually get for breakfast? What's good?"

"I love Marggies scrambled eggs and bacon." Rhonda smiled at her and they sat next to each other talking and ordered the same thing.

They became fast friends having things in common like writing poetry and loving running and exercise.

"Have you trained at all?" Rhonda asked.

"Just running and I did some kick boxing." Nicole suddenly felt out of sorts with the look she was getting back.

"You have never trained with your wolf?" Rhonda was surprised.

"I don't think I have a wolf. I think it's called a Lycan. Right?" She looked over at Josh who agreed.

"What? You have a Lycan? If I remember right my mom said your mom was a Lycan too. My mom just talks jibberish now." You could hear the sadness with the few words.

"I'd love to meet your mom. Her name is Sabrina right?" Nicole casually asked.

"Her mind isn't here anymore but you could meet her. She lives on the East Wing with Luna. We have them under supervised care." Rhonda finished her breakfast.

"I can take you over there in a bit. If that's okay with you." She leaned into Mark smiling at him with that special look in her eyes.

"We can come with you." Josh piped in. Not really wanting Nicole that far away from him. Trenton was feeling protective today.

Rhonda led them all over to the east wing talking the entire time. Mark was just enthralled by her and Nicole wondered if that's what Mark thought of Josh.

"Here we are." Rhonda said toning her happy tone down a bit. She stopped at the door. "Now just remember she doesn't really know what's going on. She might sound good but it's all nonsense." Then she opened the door and stepped in.

It looked like any other room except for the locks on the outside. It was bigger than Nicole's apartment. There was a woman with jet black hair humming and baking something. She heard the door open saying Hello as she turned around but stopped mid word when she laid eyes on Nicole.

Her face serious she set her stuff down and walked up to Nicole "MaryBeth! Oh my God! MaryBeth thank God you are here!" She hugged her a long deep hug that seemed authentic to Nicole. "How did you get out? Tell me all about it and then I can tell them they've made a mistake for all these years."

"Mom, you know MaryBeth is gone."

Rhonda said sort of sad.

"Sabrina, I am Nico..I mean Katrina. Can you tell me anything about my Mother?" Nicole figured she only knew her as Katrina.

Sabrina looked at her close for a few moments "Humph, you are Katrina." She sat on the couch and offered her to sit. "You might listen to me since nobody else does."

Everyone else sat down too with Josh putting his arm around Nicole. "I am all ears" Nicole said.

"I was a dark night. You parents had just fled their one and only stronghold at Wolfgang Heights. I had made plans to meet them at the train station in St. Louis. I waited and waited for them. I ended up leaving a note somewhere I had hoped they would find it. I walked out and saw them taking your Mother. You father was incapacitated some how and she threw you to me. She like seriously threw you 100' in the air like a football." Tears came to her eyes and she stopped for a moment, a long moment.

"I didn't catch you." She took another deep breath. "They caught me first and just let you fall to the cement. I don't remember anything again until I woke up in the white room. Uhhgg it was so bright." She put her hands over here eyes just remembering the light.

"I was drugged and tortured until one day MaryBeth showed up and helped me escape." She looked at Rhonda who looked irritated.

"How did she help you escape?" Nicole prodded.

"Well we ran through the woods and she liateral threw me off a cliff. I ended in some forest that was sort of a desert. I had no way to call home and by the time anyone found me I stripped naked almost. Now they all think I am crazy." She looked upset.

"Alright, it's time to go." Rhonda almost sounded panicked.

"She's still alive and nobody is looking for her. NOBODY BELIEVES ME."

Rhonda began pulling Nicole toward the door and then guards came in just as Sabrina was charging them with anger in her eyes. "Ask them where your father is. Ask them Katrina." The door shut just as the doctor was coming in the other side.

Nicole turned and ran down the hallway with tears in her eyes. Josh was not far behind her. She ran all the way outside into a big beautiful garden. She stopped near a big oak tree and just looked at the sky.

Josh stood far enough away that he didn't interrupt her but wanted to keep an eye on her. She sat there a long time and when she was ready Josh was still standing there.

"Are you okay?" Josh concerned

"No, my parents are still out there and now I have to go to this party with puffy cry eyes." She leaned into him and he wrapped her up in his arms.

"Hey we don't have to go to the party. I am sure your Grandfather would understand." Josh pulled away to look at her.

"I have just the thing for puffy cry eyes. I have them all the time." Rhonda was standing in the garden. "Come on, let's get you ready for this dumb party." She took Nicole's hand and walked away from Josh and Mark.

They watched them leave and Josh turned to Mark "So?"

"She's everything I ever needed. This is awesome." He actually felt lonely without her.

"Yeah it's tough having your mate away from you." Josh thought briefly of his few weeks without Nicole and his chest hardened at the thought.

Nicole

She was quiet as she was thinking of all the things Sabrina said. She had a million questions running around her head. Did they really not believe her? Were they part of the 'Them'? What did she mean about her dad? Who really was Uncle? He didn't seem to be in either party.

"Turn that frown upside down" Rhonda tried to cheer her up. Nicole gave her a smile. "You are so beautiful. I hope you appreciate that." Rhonda finished curling her hair and took off her cooling mask to check her eyes. "Yep your eyes are back to normal. Just in time to get you dressed."

"I don't have a dress."

"Oh I have plenty. Let's go pick one out for you."

The party was almost in full swing as Rhonda and Nicole made their enterance. Everyone stopped to watch them walk down the grand stairway.

With Nicoles porceline skin and dark auburn hair they had picked out a red chiffon dress with a single wide strap going over her right shoulder and hanging behind her. The sweetheart line on the bodice showed off just enough of her breasts and hugged her perfect waistline and hanging from her hips with a lost slit her left left peeked out of with each step. Her hair was up in loose bun with tender curls hanging around her face long enough to touch her shoulders. She wore a diamond broach right in the center of her sweetheart neck line bring attention to her breasts as well.

Josh thought he was going to passout she looked so beautiful, the way she smiled just for him when thier eyes met made his heart skip a beat. If he wasn't in love with her before we was now. Trenton growled at the low cut dress and how it showed off her curves 'I think I liked the 4 sizes too big outfits better. I better not be here for this.' He shut the link off and Josh was relieved a bit because he wanted to show her off. He knew she was all his. He decided he was going to ask her to marry him as she got to the bottom of the stairs and he gave her his arm and she took it with all the grace of a real princess.

"Princess!" Alpha Giests voice boomed as her enterance was complete. "Come here my darling both of you of course. I want to introduce you to some people."

The night was filled with meeting people, laughing at jokes, making jokes. Josh really was perfect as he met people and talked with them. He seemed to have a genuine interest in everyone and Nicole loved that about him. She watched him all night and was amazed she found herself deeply in love with him. She struggled for a moment with it and then let the struggle go.

At the end of the night they walked back to thier room arm and arm quiet and comfortable. "You looked stunning tonight. I thought I was going to passout watching you walk down the stairs. Trenton even had to shut off the link because he was going to be way too protective. He did request that you go back to wearing cloths that are 4 sizes too big."

Nicole giggled "I felt good to feel pretty."

They were passing by an open window and the quater moon was high in the sky and not a cloud in sight. Stars were glimmering like diamonds. Josh stopped in front of the window. "You are beautiful,, which is much more than just pretty. You carry yourself like a queen. I am just so honored and humbled that you are my mate." He took both her hands in his and looked at her deep in her eyes. "Nicole Parks, it would make me the happiest man in the world if you would be not only my mate and life partner but my wife as well." He got down on one knee and kissed her hand.

A single tear of happiness escaped her eye as her entire body filled with emotion and she started to say "yes". Just then shots rang out and Josh fell to the floor.

Nicole let out a scream that could be heard for miles. She didn't know what happened next, there were men in black all around her. She started fighting them, she was stronger than she had ever been. She heard her grandfathers men coming down the hallway. She looked at Josh and he wasn't moving.
