I am sitting in the back next to Laura and staring at the passing scenery. She is quietly sobbing next to me, and it is slowly getting on my nerves. I do not like her, and I do not want to feel sorry for her, but I do. After what Ellen told me about killing your wolf, she must be in a world of pain.
“I’m sorry I thought of killing you,” I say to Maya. “I was foolish to think it’s a solution.”
“No hard feelings,” Maya grins. “At one point I was agreeing with you. The agony became too much.”
“Welcome back, old friend,” I smile.
“Good to be back,” she smirks. “And I’m sorry about Harvey. I know you liked him.”
“I still do,” I sigh. “That will never change, he is a good man. With him, I had a raw s*xual attraction. But it’s more than that with Caleb. He makes me happy.”
