Alpha Atlas

In the year 2032, a deadly virus is accidentally released from a private research facility but this fact is unknown till a string of unexplained deaths started to occur. The phenomenon issued an investigation into the deaths and the virus and it's source were discovered. Unfortunately, it was too little too late seeing as the virus was wide spread and had infected 98.9% of the population of the planet. Earth was on borrowed time... A Russian scientist named Yuri Plisetski brings forth a theory he had been researching his entire life; uploading the mind into a computer like data, but he'd lacked the funding to make it a large scale project. After a series of debates on the idea's unethical tags, the surviving members of the UN gave Dr Plisetski his funding and proceeded to setting up various upload stations worldwide. Humanity uploaded it's consciousness into the solar powered virtual reality universe known as ALPHA ATLAS, and every individual left alive casted away their terminal bodies and became ikons in an event termed "The Ascension".500 revolutions have passed since The Ascension and humanitiy has known grown accustomed to life as on Alpha Atlas, they took care of their Health Points (H.P) which when goes from 100 to zero causing you to respawn in your last checkpoint except if you have a 1UP (gives extra life). In the event of an ikons death, all items in their inventory are dropped at the location of their deaths. Currency on the Atlas is known as Seki crystals which are used to buy anything and everything from 1UPs to skins and even weaponry. Ikons gain Seki crystals from some of the countless mini games like cooking or singing or 1V1s, the number of Seki crystals gotten from partaking in mini games depends on the Experience (X.P) level of the ikon… The higher your X.P level the higher your pay and X.P level served as a social hierarchy as well, your X.P level determines which of the five (5) layers of the Atlas you'll reside in [The five (5) layers of the Atlas in order of ascension are Omega, Epsilon, Delta, Beta and finally Alpha]. X.P level increases from the repeated performance of tasks and each task has ten (10) levels of completion; 1= Novice 2= Beginner 3= junior 4= journeyman 5= Adept 6=Professional 7= Savant 8= Expert 9= Master 10= Legend Alpha Atlas is governed by a select group of ikons known as The Caretakers, they ensure that life on the Atlas was as peacefully as can be and peaceful it was.
