Sarah’s P.O.V “This is the middle of nowhere! How am I gonna live like this.” I muttered angrily under my breath. The trail was filled with rocks and sticks. I once again caught one of my best designer heels in something deeply rooted within the ground. I growled in anger as I let go of my hot pink suitcase, attempting to unstick my shoe. The forest was engulfed in darkness as I pointed the flashlight of my phone down to my shoe, attempting to wriggle it free. I finally freed my shoe, but not without obtaining a long scratch on the brand-new heel Damn it! He’s definitely buying me new shoes. Why would he even come to this place? It’s terrible! You can’t even go shopping and everyone looks like poor hicks! This is no place for a future Alpha. And more importantly, this is no place for ME! I sighed to myself straightening to continue on my journey. I couldn’t wait to surprise him, he’ll be so happy to see me. And all I had to do was ask one of his sisters and voila. Now I’m here. I grinned to myself, excited for the look he’ll have on his face once he sees me. Why was he even here, anyway? He disappeared from town without even so much as a murmur. Even his sisters wouldn’t talk. At first, everyone thought that he was just on vacation with his uncle, but as the week came and went he didn’t return. Many asked the Alpha what happened, to which her only response was that “he was away for a while”. Finally, I’ll be able to get some answers. A small cabin began to reveal itself to the left of me, while the trees to the right opened to a large lake with mansions surrounding it. Though it was dark I could see the faint lantern light within the old decrepit cabin, while the mansions across the lake were brightly lit. Why couldn’t he stay in one of those? Why did he have to stay… here? I attempted to hide the look of dejection written all over my face. I took a deep breath, furrowing my brows. I’m the Alpha’s mate. There will be times when I’ll have to live like this. I raised my head high, stepping onto the porch of the cabin and swiftly releasing a few knocks on the old door. I waited impatiently for a voice to come, yet none came. Instead. The door swung open revealing a large man with jet black hair and matching black eyes, behind him, the future Alpha. “Olliekins!” I squealed in delight. I ran to him, wrapping my arms around him. “Sarah? Why are you here?” He sounded confused, as well as, annoyed. I pulled back and looked him in the eyes. He didn’t look annoyed. He looked pissed. “Because I’m your mate?” I spoke slowly tilting my head. “You're not! I've told you a hundred times already there is no mate bond between us!” He growled In annoyance, attempting to duck from my grasp. “Oh Ollikins you silly. You just don’t feel the bond yet. But I feel the bond so it must be true.” I batted my eyelashes innocently. Oliver sighed in frustration, but he stopped trying to get away from me. I considered it a good sign. After all. That Luna title was mine, and if anyone else wanted it. Well, they would have to pry it from my dead hands. “Who’s the woman?” The older man spoke in a strained voice. Oh yeah, I forgot he was here. I turned to face him, sticking my hand out to greet him. “Oh, I’m so sorry! Where are my manners? I’m Sarah Howley. Ollie’s mate.” “She’s not my mate,” Ollie interjected. I deflated slightly before quickly regaining my composure. “Oh ha ha, very funny.” I pouted before turning my attention back to the man. “Hey! I remember you, well, vaguely. You would come to get Oliver from class every couple of years for a vacation. You're his Uncle. Uncle… Noir. Right?” he nodded his head in response. You could see his muscles relaxing. “Yes.” He spoke casually.” That’s me. I’m a good friend of the Alpha.” He gave me a lopsided grin. I turned back to the tiny cabin before me. There didn’t seem to be much space to put my stuff. But I’ll make due. “So. Where can I put my things?” “Your things?” Oliver sounded confused “Obviously! I didn’t come all the way out here to surprise you, and then leave.” “There’s no space,” Oliver replied flatly. “But your sister told me there would be space for me!” “Well, my sister lied to you.” “Well, hold on.” Noir injected “you can't allow a lone wolf to be out roaming around in unfamiliar territory. Especially not this late.” Noir reprimanded Oliver, who immediately looked down in submission. “You can share Oliver’s bed.” “But Uncle!-“ “I don’t want to hear it, you can’t kick a woman out. Not like this. If you still want her to leave tomorrow we’ll get her a bus ticket. But tonight. She’s here.” I heard Oliver sigh with defeat. “Yes sir.” He muttered quietly. I grinned, basking in my own victory. I knew for a fact that I wouldn’t be getting on that bus tomorrow. I turned back to Oliver, wrapping both my arms around one of his and leaning close. “We’re going to be bedmates!” “No, we’re not. I’m sleeping on the couch.” Oliver huffed. My face immediately dropped, attempting to hide the anger I felt in my chest. No, This wouldn't work at all! "But Olliekins! I'm in this brand-new cabin. There's a man here I don't know that well. I don't feel safe!" I put on my most innocent face, fluttering my eyelashes as I looked up at him. "I would feel much safer if there was a future Alpha right next to me." "Fine." He sighed in exasperation looking away from me. "Just, stay on your side." Mission Accomplished.
