Book 5

Nell Dias finally found her mate. Like many wolves, she has looked forward to this moment her entire life.

So imagine her disappointment to find that he is the only man she has ever hated?

She rejects him, except it doesn’t work. She is too proud to admit that fact. Now she stuck fighting her attraction for her unrejectable mate. And he’s not making it easy.

Excerpt:

I open the front door. And there he is, blonde and blue. The biggest, tallest, and most fit man I’ve ever seen.

He feels the instance attraction I feel. His breath hitches. The sound makes all the hairs in my body stand. He starts leaning down, but no way in hell I was going to wait for it. I pull his head down to me and both our lips meet together.

He lifts me up and steps inside my cottage. Everything is haphazard as both of us are just trying to keep up against either other. We collide with a wall and knock over some vases, but it doesn’t stop us. Nothing can stop us.

His hands slip under my shirt.

“What are you guys doing?” My friend and roommate Alexis asks, interrupting one of the most important event of my life.

“I think it’s obvious, don’t you think so?” I respond, completely breathless.

“Yeah, but why are you doing THAT with my brother?”

Her brother!?! Oh no, no, no! f**k!

Frustrated
“For the last time, no!” I yell at Jorgen over the phone. I know I’m being a little extra, but I can’t help it, Jorgen Klaus is the bane of my existence! When I decided to take a summer internship with pack’s travel agency, Moonstone Travel, I didn’t expect it to be such a bear. I mean quite literally. Jorgen is a full blooded bear, and a real pain in the ass. He and his sister are honorary members of the pack because they helped save our Luns’s life. He was given monetary compensation. He had the pack’s loyalty, access to our connections, and so much more. He could have done anything, literally ANYTHING, in the world but he joined the pack’s travel agency instead. The pack’s leadership and been working to improve the travel experience in Germany around the time Jorgen joined the pack. And since Jorgen was German, he was given the job automatically, even though he lacked any merit! He accomplished little since he joined but despite this he remains arrogant, the guy who always thinks he’s right, and the all around jerk. No one probably wanted to work with him the last year and a half, so now I’m stuck working with him on the Germany project. Ugh! No one gets my temper going like Jorgen does, it gets to the point that my day is a hundred times brighter when I don’t have to talk to Jorgen. I guess the only good thing is that he is physically in Germany, so at least I don’t have to see him in daily life. It just baffles me that he is so much different from his sister, Alexis Klaus. In fact, I would say he was quite the opposite of his sister. Alexis happens to be my roommate, and I adore her. She is a stunning six foot tall blonde with ocean blue eyes. She could be a model with her physique, but instead she works hard, goes to part time classes, and, also, is doing an internship at our pack’s travel agency. Alexis is smart, funny, and beautiful. I don’t know what Jorgen looks like, but he’s definitely not smart or funny. And forget lovable, there is nothing likable about Jorgen. Why couldn’t Alexis and I have done a project together? Why did I get stuck working with this arrogant asshole? Right on cue, Jorgen starts yapping again. “You’ve never been to Germany, Eleanor. I’m telling you that this is a good idea,” he says over the phone. He sounds slightly irritated, which makes me happy. I want to get under his skin the way he gets in mine. And I hate being called Eleanor because it makes me sound old. No one calls me Eleanor, except for of course, Jorgen! “It’s Nell. I told you, my name is Nell. And I don’t have to go to Germany to tell you that riding some shady ass train is not a good idea for touring. It’s a private car or they stay at the five star resort. I don’t care about ‘the experience’ of riding a train. We are a LUXURY travel agency, we don’t do trains.” “Well, you are very out of touch with reality and, frankly, a little too classist. I can’t believe you just assume that public transport is beneath you. Maybe you should come to Germany and ride this train. It’s very nice, plus, it gives an option for the client, they can have either their own private coach or travel in a regular coach. This will make our trip affordable and customizable while still maintaining the LUXURIOUS label. I think increasing access through affordability can increase our client base, and therefore, a good idea” he says on the other end. Fucking hell! He just won’t stop. And for some reason, he always manages to keep his calm and cool whereas I lose my temper when I am frustrated. And right now, I was beyond frustrated. “You don’t have to give an affordable option in luxurious travel. It’s luxurious for a reason. I’m not a classist, that is the truth. If you want a luxurious travel experience, you book with us. If you want affordable, well then, you book with someone else that you can afford. And that is how you keep the label luxurious,” I tell him. “Sounds classist to me. You just don’t want to admit it because it makes you feel like a b***h,” he responds. Fucking hell! “You know what, Jorgen, let’s talk about this AFTER you have breakfast so you aren’t this cranky when we talk.” “It’s in the afternoon in Germany, and quite a nice day, if I may add. I have had breakfast, lunch, and I will have dinner in a bit. But maybe YOU should have YOUR breakfast before calling, you are being extra bitchy today for no reason. I, on the other hand, would like to think that I’m in a relatively good mood. I, also, think that since your opinions matter so much to you, you should come to Germany and see how things are for yourself. Talk to you later, Eleanor,” he says in his cool, distant voice like nothing I say affected him in any way, shape, or form. His tone further set off my desire to punch him for being an ass. “It’s Nell! I’m calling you in a couple of hours because we have lots to go over, including the shitty resort you picked,” I tell him. I'm about to hang up the phone when he says, “no can do, I have a date tonight. I would rather spend time with her than talk to you about work, any day.” What an ass! For some reason his words sting my pride. I have always been a cool, fun girl. I think it’s the first time someone told me that I sucked, and I felt bad. He didn’t have to do that, little fucker. “Well, f**k you, Jorgen,” I shout into the phone. “I will take that as a ‘good luck’ because I do hope there will be f*****g involved.” I hear the familiar click of the phone disconnecting as I sit there shaking from the anger. Ugh! Gross. I probably need to wash out my ears after hearing that! “Your brother is insufferable,” I tell Alexis, who is on the verge of laughing at my frustration. However, Alexis is too polite to laugh at my misery, so she just bites the inside of her cheek while I try to ignore the wide grin spread across her face. I put another bite of that cereal into my mouth. I really shouldn’t let him get under my skin, but his words affected me more than I would like to admit. And for some unknown reason, my wolf seemed particularly irritated. Jorgen I’m not sure exactly why I told her I had a date because I didn’t. I'm, also, not sure why I like to get on her last nerves because I do. I like listening to her get all flustered over something I said, which usually follows with her shouting insults at me that I find hilarious. And that’s exactly why I call her Eleanor, maybe a little too often… I can’t help but laugh to myself. I always found that name alluring, but she hated it; she preferred to be called Nell, which sounded more like someone grunted a sound than a name. She’s a little too much, but she’s probably a spoiled little brat who likes to have everything go her way. She’s supposed to be my intern, but she acts like she owns the project because she’s the Gamma’s sister. Well, she will just have to learn that she’s not going to get any special treatments from me. She will have to rough it out like everyone else. Yet something about the end of the conversation is bothering my beast, making me feel restless. I need to do something to get this feeling out of me. I go out to the street. There is a place across from my hotel that sells mouthwatering strudels. And after a fight with that girl, strudels are a must. The store is pretty small, about the size of a small deli. They keep their doors open in the summer to let the breeze into the store, but that also means the smell of freshly baked goods travels a mile and stimulates those appetites. By the time I reach the counter, I am drooling so I order half the menu. Hallo, wie geht's dir? (Hello, how are you?) the restaurant worker asks me. I look up to find a dirty blonde haired German girl with brown eyes. She is a looker, and maybe I would try to get a dinner date after all. Although I’m German, I grew up in the states, which means the only German thing about me is that I speak German. Pick up lines in German, not really my strong suit, but I guess it’s been a while since I’ve had s*x. Maybe scratching that itch is what I need to get this restlessness out of my beast. “Ich könnte Ihnen eine schlechte Abholnummer geben, aber ich werde es nicht tun, wenn Sie mit mir zum Abendessen kommen.” (I could give you a bad pickup line, but I will not if you join me for dinner.) She laughs at my response, but she flashes the ring on her finger. Damn, she is married! I guess I’m not winning at all today. She lowers her voice and seductively says, “Ich kann mitmachen, solange mein Mann zuschauen kann.” (I can join as long as my husband can watch.) Umm that’s definitely not something I have done before...and I was a member of a f****d up cult that bred supernaturals to make hybrids. She is pretty and by the looks of her dress that’s hugging her body, she has some curves. If this is what she and her husband are into then I don’t see a problem with it. I’m single and the night has just begun. I agree. She texts her husband before closing the shop early. We all skipped dinner and went to my hotel room. I can’t lie, this felt a little weird, and I really had to work to get it up. I focused on the beauty in front of me. I tried to forget the fact that she was married or somebody was watching. For some odd reason, Eleanor kept on popping into my mind. I didn’t actually know what she looked like because I had never actually seen her, so I imagined that this girl was Eleanor. I f****d hard to get rid of all the tension that had built up around us. And it worked. I no longer associate Eleanor with something bad. Maybe Eleanor and I can hook up once I go back to Wellspring. The thought makes my beast very happy. What the f**k is going on with my bear?
