Chapter Three

538 Words
Satan's POV There was a loud thump followed by a shriek as the human slammed couple of dusty books and pulled a chair from the table in front of me. After meeting her in a moving shelter, which humans commonly call 'taxi' , I decided to tail her all throughout the day. Of course, she was exasperated by my sudden appearance, considering the fact that only her, is allowed to lay eyes on my amazing human form. She was frustrated, I remember her saying " I should have a check up. It must be my maladaptive daydreaming kicking in." which baffled me while she, subsequently, shrugged nonchalantly and ignored my existence since then. Later that afternoon, I found myself inside the state library; browsing various uninteresting books in a crooked shelf, while she spent the rest of her day reading 'How to exorcise demons.' and such. I snapped my fingers before her eyes, "Hey human, how long do you plan to stay in this place?" There wasn't any major response, other than blinking her eyes, which infuriated me. I don't like this kind of places, or atleast don't spend my time smelling that weird scent from the books in the old shelves or listening to that irksome silence; nothing's entertaining here, aside from few pairs having s*x in the library's secluded areas, nothing catches my attention. "Listen here you peasant, I'm the king of Hell and the most magnificent creature you'll ever see. I don't dawdle about in this kind of place so get your ass moving and lead me to the most sinful place in this city." I commanded, She stopped for a moment, I thought she'd comply to my orders. To my surprise, she just blinked twice and resumed reading. In two shakes of a lamb's tail, I was strangling her to death as she wriggled and grabbed my arms to free her neck from my tight grasp. How dare she neglect my command, I, Satan--the epitome of sin and wickedness, ignored by a lowly human! Her feet left the floor as I raised my hand higher, making her hang mid-air. "Is it fun ignoring me, b***h? You know I can kill you in a snap, right?" A lone tear escaped her begging eyes that was looking at me, perhaps pleading for me to spare her. Which has no use because the devil don't show mercy to creatures, especially humans. "Please," she cried, Fear is evident in her face as her trembling hand reached for mine that was gripping her own neck. "That face..." I paused, I never felt this nostaglic, that feeling I once had before I was banished from heaven, fragments of memories came rushing in my sea of conciousness. Maybe that's why I followed her, she was a spitting image of Lilith. My beloved Lilith, the very reason I was banished from heaven. I backed away, releasing her neck from my grasp. She, then, fell to the floor-- creating a loud thud. Everyone's attention was drawn into her, confused on why she was on the floor and why is she gasping for breath while staring fearfully at nothing. Tears brimming through her cheeks, she stared at me with horror in her eyes. "Lilith..."
