The Miracles

She had battled with her eminent depression for years, until he came home. He was a marine, who had finally come back to her. Even before his departure, she would try to come up with ways for him not to go, anything she could just to get him to stay. Yet she knew he couldn't abandon his duties. Her & their daughter, although having had Destiny by another man, would write him every single day just to make sure he stayed in high hopes of him coming home to them. The war was rough, it was brutal. He came out alive though and much stronger than he ever was in the past. Some war wounds he had endured, but if one asked, he would say it was all worth it. Being home with his wife & daughter meant everything to him. Although those days in the war seemed to press on longer than expected, & the days seemed longer, he found reason to smile when he would receive those letters. Those letters from his girls gave him hope. When she would receive letters back from her dear love, her heart would be overflowing with joy. And she would read the letters with their daughter and they would just smile, and hearts would be warmed. The thought of him being such a strong survivor is what would bring her to tears though. Being away from him was unheard of. Yet their hearts were closer than ever. "When daddy dan dan come hoooome momma?!" Would say an exasperated Destiny. Only 18 months old and missed her "Daddy Dan Dan" tremendously. One day, a knock at the door had occurred. Mrs. Lomaz dreaded every knock at the door, praying that behind the knock wasn't the news of her dear Daniel being killed at war. She slowly made her way to the door (trembling)... "Mrs. Patricia Lomaz?" "Yes," she hesitantly replied with tears already rolling down her face. "Your husband, Daniel Lomaz, has went missing in action & we believe that he has actually become a POW..." "A what" "A prisoner of war" "They have my husband!!?? They took him! Oh no no oh no please! Please find him!" Mrs. Lomaz fell down to her knees almost pleading with the Marine officer. And he looked at her as she grabbed her stomach, for no one knew that one holiday Daniel came home and gave Patricia and Destiny the biggest surprise of their lives. Mrs. Lomaz held her stomach, because during the time her husband was home, he had left her with someones in the oven. Twins. One boy. One girl. Supposedly anyways. Yet Mrs. Lomaz hid it so well until that moment she fell to her knees...grabbing hold of her stomach looking down at the floor with tears flooding her eyes, then back up at Christopher, the Marine officer. He reached down and helped her back up and told her..."we WILL find him. He's one of my best friends and he found me" And indeed he did find Mr. Lomaz. They had tortured him so badly, so ruthlessly, but with a strong miracle Daniel was still able to walk. Yet, the cigar burns made perfect circular holes into his thighs, and the look of despair could be seen on his face...somehow he still had a smile on his face. Could it have been the thoughts of his loved ones awaiting his arrival, not knowing if he would come back standing, crawling, or in a body bag?! Or, maybe just the relief that he was found, and he was safe? Another knock had come...early October on the 8th, Mrs. Lomaz once again dreaded that knock but as she held onto her now 9 month old tummy her & Destiny made their way to the door. The door slowly opens... "Oh my goodness you're really pregnant!" Said a smiling Daniel! The looks on their faces of Destiny's then Patricia's....they ran right into his arms with tears of joy! "Daddy Dan Dan is home! Finally!" Patricia had a few words, accompanied with tears..."and on our 2nd anniversary, iloveyou" ¤
