"Daddy Dan Dan, are boys supposed to kiss girls like you and, and, and mommy kiss? Cause Mishon tried to kiss my cheek and I said NO! Nooooo kissing!," explained an adamant Destiny, who was coloring perfectly inside the lines, in her Princess coloring book.
"Wait, wait, WHO is Mishon?," a demanding, yet conncerned Daniel said.
"A boooy Daddy Dan Dan! In my class. Mi.....Shon! Ok?!," said a sassy Destiny.
"Ok, ok, good gracious," Daniel could only see Patricia in his daughter. "Who is this kid?"
"Dan Dan...he's the Korean and Black boy with the curly hair like mine and he sits by me in school and...and..."
"He better not kiss you again Destiny. That's alright, I'm coming up to your school and have a talk with him."
"NO!"
Daniel stopped in his tracks, looking at Destiny, only to reminisce on how he was holding her at 8 months, and now she was in 2nd grade. *my how the time flew by* thought Daniel. "*sigh* Destiny, you're a beautiful little lady and so smart, so I won't come up to your school and embarrass you like that."
"Its not you I'm worried about, you will embarrass hiiiiim and when I get older they'll say *that's the girl with the pops who will embarrass you* and I won't be like you and mommy, all happy and married..." Destiny looked over at Daniel, "I loooove yoooou Daddy Dan Dan!"
"I loooove yoooou toooo Destiny," mimicking Destiny in the way she said *iloveyou*, bringing a smile and then a giggle to her precious little face.
Little did the two know, Patricia was leaning outside of the door listening in and smiling. *always wanted to have a family love like this, and I finally have it.* she thought to herself while smiling. Cherish what and whom you truly love, commitment to family, self, love, and other things, is possible for those willing to work at it.
