Slide helped Tjon out by cleaning the rest of the rabbits that he had hunted the day before and starting a fire. He noticed how the people had grown into a natural rhythm, with Jack and a few others taking care of Layla and the baby while Dean and a few older members of the group took a much-needed rest.
He wasn’t exactly fond of the idea of sticking around in the same place for too long. But his mind was fogged with love for Ember, so all practical concerns had evaporated.
