Ember was floored by Layla’s pure selflessness as she proposed staying behind and letting the group leave. A part of it made her angry, while the other part admired her greatly. Women were often so quick to self-sacrifice for the sake of others. Even if it meant separating from her baby, she was willing to do it, all to save everyone around her.
