Chapter 7 (Us)

Codi's POV

I got out of bed and put the tray outside the door. I sent Mom a text and let her know. I turned around and noticed Lizzy had already curled up and passed out, so I slowly climbed into bed behind her and before I was even aware, sleep took over me. All of a sudden, I heard a knock. I sat up slowly, slid out of bed, and answered the door, trying not to wake her. She looked so peaceful when she was asleep. I opened it and it was my mom. "Why are you up here? I thought you were supposed to be spending the day working on the final touches of the party." I asked. "Well, I have been texting and calling you for the last 10 minutes to tell you that lunch was ready. But you haven't answered me, so I was getting worried about you two." She responded. "Hold up you said lunch. Wasn't it just breakfast?" I said questionably. "Yes, son, it takes a lot out of you when you shift for the first time. And I can almost guarantee that it took more out of Lizzy. Just lie with her. You being next to her will help her heal and it will also help you." Mom told me. Maria had opened the door and heard everything. She picked up the tray outside their door and closed it behind her. I took the tray from Mom. And walked in, and proceeded to wake Lizzy for lunch.

"Lizzy wake up. It is time for lunch, " I said. She stirred and slightly smiled from the left side of her mouth. That smile has always made me weak in the knees and now I know why. She is my mate, my other half, the breath I breathe. I leaned in and kissed the left side of her mouth. She opened her eyes. "Did you say it was lutimeime? " She asked. "Yes, it is 12:30 in the afternoon. You feel asleep before I even put the tray out after breakfast. So I just crawled into bed with you. Mom just woke me up and told me that we needed to eat and that you might need to rest till the party. Your shifting last night most likely took more out of you because of who and what your wolf is. We ate lunch in complete silence and I just stared at her beauty, astonished that I get to call her my mate. She is the most beautiful person I have ever met, mind, body, and soul. As we finished eating I had a thought and I saw Lizzy blush. "Why are you blushing beautiful?" I asked, knowing exactly why. Moments ago, I saw her collar bone of all things and thought, "Oh how I just want to kiss that collar bone and trail those kisses down to her belly button. I have always wanted to trail kisses all over her body."

Lizzy's POV

I awoke to Codi kissing the side of my mouth, telling me that it was lunch time. We eat in complete silence. I looked up to see him staring at me. I can hear everything he is truly thinking and if I am honest, I want him to do that and so much more. I pushed my empty plate out of the way and kissed him passionately. I started to take off his shirt. He put his hands on mine and stops me. I am puzzled I can hear his thoughts. I know for a fact that he wants me, so why is he stopping me? " Why the f**k are you stopping me Codi, we both know that you want this. And so have I for so long. You don't know how many nights I would lie awake and mesmerize your face. Wishing that I could kiss your lips, touch you, hell just feel your skin on mine. I always shoved those thoughts into the back of my mind because you were my brother. I shouldn't think of you that way. I know now that you have always had the same thoughts. So why don't we just give into them? I mean our parents are okay with us being mates and our scents have already started to intertwine into each other. So, by the time of the party, everyone will know who we are to each other truthfully. I am going t get into the shower. If you want, you are welcome to join me. We don't have to have s*x, but I would like to get to know your body and you know mine. I want to take this at a pace that is comfortable for both of us." I told him. I get up and walk to the bathroom, taking my shirt off as I do. Hoping that he follows me.
