Chapter 6 (True Identity)

Lizzy POV

I'm usually not one to speak in front of anyone other than our parents. Codi has always done the speaking when we have had presentations and everything. "Yes, of course, we would love to get to stay here and get to know both of our children," said Alpha Don . " How are we going to let everyone know the truth? I will not be hiding my mate bond with Codi for longer than today," I said. "We will use the birthday party to announce it to everyone, but until then. I want Codi and you to go to your room. I mean, well technically, Codi's room. We all know that you have just used yours to shower and get ready. It is a good thing that we got Codi's room soundproofed on the last day of school for you two. We just assumed that you would automatically move in with your mate when you found them Lizzy, and I guess we were right. Go upstairs now before anyone else in the house wakes up. I will have food brought up to the room for two. I will text Codi when it's outside the door. Also, both of you get some more rest when you transition for the first time. It can take a lot out of you. We are going to put Atrayus and Maria in Lizzy's room as well till the party because they will also need to get some rest. It will also give them a chance to know each other better," Mom said. You see every mated couple in the house. Well, their rooms are soundproofed so that they can't be heard through the house. I completely understand why they didn't bother with mine. It would have been a waste of money. I looked at my mom confused on why we needed to hide out today and before I got a chance to ask. Codi spoke up. "Why must we hide till the party?" he asked. "Because you two have already claimed one another and your scent is starting to intertwine together and by lunch you will have one smell to everyone else. You two will be the only ones who can tell each others scent apart. They don't teach that in school so that no one knows and we can use it as a protection precaution." mom responded. I will never be able to call her Jacqueline. She will always be my mom.

Codi takes my hand and leads me up to our room. Atrayus and Maria followed us upstairs and I pointed at the room directly across from Codi's. "This is well, I guess, my old room. It is fully stocked with comfort clothes that both of you should be able to wear. We slept in my room very rarely. I started to crawl into bed with Codi at night. I started at about three. Mom said she came in the morning and I had crawled into Codi's bed. So sometimes he would try and stay in there with me until I fell asleep. But most of the time he fell asleep too. So, once a month, we just sleep in there so that it gets some use." I told them. I turned around and Codi had already opened the door and was waiting for me to get inside. Once he shut the door, I just laid my head on his chest and melted into him like always, but this time it felt different. We stood there for a few minutes then Codi's phone chimed and it was mom letting him know it was safe to get the food from outside the door. I pushed myself up right and crawled on my side of the bed. He turned and the tray was full of all of our favorite breakfast foods. Bacon, sausage, ham, pancakes for me, waffles for Codi, blueberry muffins, and eggs along with two huge cups full of coffee for both of us. We ate without speaking a word to one another and before we knew it. It was all gone. All I wanted to do now was to go to sleep. Codi gets up to put the food outside the door. The next thing I knew was me in good dream land, which meant he was in bed next to me.
