Lily's POV
I straightened my gown as I stood up slowly, careful not to crease the beautiful dress I was wearing. Today, I was going to get engaged with Ian under the full moon. My heart skipped a beat as soon as I remembered his face again. His aura, power, determination, everything about him was so attractive. Ian was like a goddess amongst the unmated she-wolves. When I found out that my dad, alpha of the Wind warrior pack made a marriage alliance with the alpha of the Fire warrior pack, I was furious. All my life, I have been the diligent little daughter always doing what was expected of me. The least I thought I was entitled to was choosing my own mate or letting the moon goddess pair me up.
Everything changed when I met Ian during the alliance meeting. I fell for him at first sight. When Ian smiled at my direction, I hid behind my father knowing I would be red as an apple. 'Please don't let him see me blushing', I prayed. But I could not help sneaking few more glances at him throughout the meeting. I looked outside my bedroom window remembering my first encouter with Ian.
'This is really happening. I am getting engaged', I thought to myself trying not to get too excited. 'Ian....my husband, my alpha'

Third POV
Hundreds of wolves were gathered at the engagement. The ceremony was taking place inside the territory of Wind warrior pack. A little stage was built for the rings to be exchanged. Small chairs were arranged with white clothes draped over them. An island of food was arranged near the entrance with servers serving all kinds of drinks. This was planned to be a simple engagement, nothing too exquisite as per alpha Phoenix's request.
After all important guests arrived, the ceremony commenced. As Alpha Ian entered the stage, everyone looked up unknowingly just from the sheer force of Ian's presence. He just had that aura everywhere he went.
Few moments later, Lily walked towards the stage with her father alpha Phoenix by her side. She had a simple white gown on with a small flower pattern embroidered on to the dress. The lower part of the gown had a skirt that flared out and touched the ground. The dress beautifully lined Lily's gorgeous figure. She had her brunette hair tied up in a low-tied bun and was wearing the traditional Wind warrior drape over her dress. Everything Lily had on was simple, yet she looked effortlessly eye-catching. 'If I had not met Sarah, I would have been happier with Lily', Ian thought to himself as he watched Lily walk towards him. But everything was different now. All Ian craved and thought about was Sarah. Remembering her scent, her eyes, her body, he was heads over the heels crazy about her.
Alpha Phoenix looked seriously into Ian's eyes and said,' Remember your words' as he handed Lily's delicate hands to Ian. Ian simply gave a nod and took Lily's hand. The two locked their eyes and exchanged rings. The exchange of rings was just to consolidate the alliance as Alpha phoenix wanted some sort of security before sending Lily to Fire warrior pack where the actual marriage and mating ceremony will take place. Alpha Phoenix still cared for his daughter's safety though he mostly agreed to the alliance because he would gain stability especially since a revolution was brewing in the east.
As the ceremony begun. Ian started, ‘I, Alpha of the Fire warrior pack, descendent of the great Fire warrior king present to you this ring which promises a marriage in the future and welcome you as the future Luna to my pack’.
‘I accept this ring’, Lily brimmed happily as Ian slid the ring onto her ring finger.
‘I, daughter of Alpha Phoenix, of the Wind warrior pack hereby present to you this ring which promises a marriage in the future’, Lily repeated as she put the finger onto Ian’s hand. Just for a spilt second, Lily thought she saw pain on Ian’s face. ‘Was it my imagination? If Ian was indeed in pain, he was very good at hiding it’’, Lily thought to herself confused and worried for her now fiancée.
Once the rings were exchanged, everyone howled in unison to express their happiness to the newly engaged couple.

Sarah’s POV
‘Let me out!’, Sarah screamed but to no avail. She was held inside the hotel room for hours now much against her will. ‘Why is my luck always so ill? Why moon goddess, why?’.
After being marked by Ian, my bond with Ian has grown so much at such a speed that it scared me. I could feel everything he was feeling. As much as it was a magical feeling, it was a curse too. Being marked meant now that I was mated to him for life. I would want to be close to him every day, every second, possibly go into heat as I was marked without being mated. Being in the heat was extremely painful and dangerous for she-wolves.
I thought I was the happiest girl when Ian marked me earlier but then he said that he was going to get engaged to another girl. This ignited so much rage in me that I wanted to dangerously kill the girl he was talking about.
‘You are just a rogue. I will keep you close just for the mate bond’, Ian told me. ' A rogue can never be a Luna'.
I could feel tears filling up again. I knew what Ian meant. I was a nobody. Nothing was special about me. Even my wolf was different, a stupid white coat and silver eyes. A FREAK.
‘Hey! Watch who you call a freak’, my wolf Selene hissed in my mind.
‘Sorry’, I managed to say with tears still running down my face. ‘But it is true, we are not strong in combat or have anything special about us. While we are mated to the strongest alpha in this world’
‘MY MATE STILL WANTS ME’, my wolf spat out. ‘I am not going to be a part of this pity-party. I am special and you are a nobody’. My wolf said in the meanest tone she had and quickly put a mind block. Damn my wolf is savage, I should not have teased her. Few days ago, I would have laughed after teasing Selene, she was always on the edge and easy to piss. But now, nothing seemed to lift up my spirits.
I was more hurt when Ian announced he was getting engaged tonight, just right after marking me. I closed my eyes as I could feel a lump build up in my throat.
Suddenly, interrupting all my thoughts, a sharp pain hit me. It went away at first. But then it came back again. This time the pain spread throughout my entire body as I screamed and threw the things around me. ‘What’s happening? Did Ian really get engaged?’, I cried thinking while I laid on the floor, my body being completely engulfed by the pain.

Third POV
The ride back to the hotel room was silent. Lily was sitting quietly on Ian’s left side. She had her head down and was playing with her hands trying to distract herself from the nervousness and awkward air.
Ian did not glance her way at all. He was too busy thinking about Sarah and worried about the pain she must have felt. Ian had been training in harsh conditions ever since he was a young pup. So, the pain was tolerable for him. But he knew, Sarah must have felt it worse.
When they reached the hotel, Ian quickly got off the car and rushed to his room.
He could feel Sarah was still in pain through the mate bond. He swung the door open and found Sarah laying on the floor burning up in pain.
‘Jesus, mate’, Ian said as he picked her off the floor and brought her onto the bed. ‘Why are you still in pain’.
Lily entered the room soon afterwards with Damien carrying her bags from behind. She noticed Ian holding an unfamiliar woman in his hands. Instantly, she shouted, ‘Why are you holding this woman?’.
Ian was taken aback from Lily’s outburst. Never in a million years would he have thought Lily would be able to speak out like that.
‘She’s my mate. I am keeping her for my own sake. If I reject her, I will suffer from the pain of breaking the bond and might not recover. If I accept her, she would be unfit as my Luna since she is a rogue, and my pack members would never accept her. I would not be too worried about her’, Ian said in a calculated tone. He knew what he said was the truth, but he also kept Sarah close by because he could not imagine living without her. She had grown on him so much in just a few hours.
‘Damien, keep an eye on her’, Ian said as he led Lily outside the room. ‘We will take another executive room’.
Damien nodded, ‘Yes alpha’.
Sarah closed her eyes in more pain as she heard everything. Just when she thought that Ian cared while he was holding her, she was wrong. He did not care from the start. And he will never care! To him, she was just there for his safety reasons.
'Did he not feel the mate pull? Did he not feel the sparks between us? I really am a nobody’, Sarah slowly cried as she realised how miserable her life is.
