Chapter 13 RoanI lifted the corner of the couch, then hoisted the whole thing onto my shoulder. Between being half werewolf and gaining strength after being turned into a vampire, I had what I needed to get Cynthia’s furniture into all the right rooms. Wrapping myself in shadows, I stepped into her night room. Unfortunately, the bulky thing obstructed my view of Cynthia, so I turned around, making a show of bouncing the couch on my shoulder as if it weighed nothing. “Where do you want this thing?” I asked. Cynthia stared at me, her jaw slack and the textbook in her lap forgotten. After a few moments, she shook her head as if to clear it and pointed at the corner. Still speechless, though. I winked at her. “Want me to take my shirt off before I bring your dressers?” “Sure,” she said.
