Chapter 11 HartI waited at the dining room table. Golden was taking his time with Cynthia, which was fine. He was better at handling her than the rest of us. Blister paced in front of the dark windows. He was always restless in the middle of the night. It was the trickiest part, this balance between his lucid hours and the knowledge of how dangerous those hours were for all of us. Something had to give, and I didn’t want that something to be Blister’s life. Roan sat back, his feet on the table and a wistful expression on his face.
