The True Ric.

“Come in Ryder’s in the kitchen he just woke up. Honey Ric is in trouble!” I yelled a response to Ryder as Ric walked in, and when we entered the kitchen Ryder was already cleaning his plate.

“Quick in my office link Nyk and see if she can’t watch the kids for a few Zahra, and while you do that, I will link Eric to come and join us in the office.”

‘Hey Nyk, can you watch the kids? Ric has an emergency that we need to take care of.’

‘Of course, I hope everything is okay.’

‘Thanks, you know you’re the best sister-in-law and aunt.’

‘Please don’t make me blush.’

She said and I ended the link just in time for Eric to come rushing through the office door.

“Okay now that everyone is here what happened?” Ryder asked Ric.

“Okay bear with me for a moment I have two problems one more severe then the other however both of them are bad.”

“Ric what is it?” Ryder asked more stressed then anything in his tone.

“Rouges there’s about 100 or more patrolling our boarder on the opposite side your territory is on. The weird part is that they just watch they do not do anything else but watch. Each one is being replaced with another; you know alternating. When one is done doing whatever it left to do whether its eating, pooping, peeing that one will take over for the one that was sitting there watching us. It was like this for a few days they never left I split my whole pack into six groups that way none of them get tiered just in case for an attack. Its become nerve racking its scaring the mothers and children to the point that they no longer go outside without their soulmates or bodyguards. Something is wrong and I can feel it. Something bad is going to happened, really bad.”

“And the other problem?” I asked

“Its mine and Ada’s anniversary if I don’t get the perfect present, I’m in the doghouse for the year.”

I looked at Ryder shocked at what the last issue was. We were holding our laughs the best we could while Eric rolled his eyes and shook his head.

“I told the one that I really worried about first because the other issue I have is just going to have to wait.”

We all looked at Ryder who is lost in thought of what to do. His arms where folded and he was leaning back in his chair. I could tell this news of the rouges bothered him even though we were trying not to laugh at the whole present for the anniversary for Ada and Ric.

“Why don’t you and Eric go to the living room and me and Ryder will figure out on how to play this smart, so no one gets hurt.” I suggested and they both nodded their heads and left.

I got up and pulled a chair next to Ryder and unfolded his arms and held his hands. He started to relax a little. Then all of a sudden, I had a wonder and interesting idea.

“What if they start doing the same thing that they are doing to my godfathers pack to our pack too?” I pause for a moment then I had a plan in motion, “what if only the most skilled at hiding will follow the ones that leave and see if any of them go to their hideout.” I told him.

“I was thinking of that but when we find their hideout how do we handle the situation from there it’s not like we are going in there blind. There would be to many casualties.” He said looking at me with a wonder of awe in his eyes, but that look soon faded into a protective look, “As for your question we will do what your dad is doing ill call my father and see if we cant have some help sense they left with the back up they gave us when we had the issue with my brother. I’m still pissed that I couldn’t kill him and he’s still out that planning on how he can destroy me by taking you or one of our kids.”

“Hey, lets not think about that right now I know you wanted to make it safe for everyone and you can’t because he is out there somewhere, but we need to focus on what is in front of us, well on the side of my fathers pack that is.” I told him.

He laughed a little and started to relax but not too much.

“We watch their hideout for a few weeks see what is going on in the outside then when the new moon comes that’s when we will strike in the darkness like shadows.” I told him I got the idea from the book called The Fallen Dark Angel.

Its when a character named Risna used the darkness to shadow demons and angels that try to interrupt the humans lives, and then attack them if they disobeyed the lord of life or the prince of death she also teaches the technique to her friends she makes latter on in the book to save the world from a fight between the life and death sides.

“That’s a good idea we must hurry and prepare for this and quickly before they start to get bolder.”

“Agreed.” I said standing up and then we walked out of the office and in the living room where we heard a set of footsteps pacing and Eric trying to distract Ric from not being too worried about the situation.

“Okay here is the plan Eric and Nyk will take half of the pack. Half of them will be our strongest and the rest not so strong but they all know how to fight. The rest will stay here just in case they decide to see if we are weak. Pretend that they are there to help with the anniversary celebration. Only the strong ones will be watching the rouges and Niki and her group of tractors will follow the ones who leave to see if one of them will go back to their hideout. When we find it, we will watch them for a few weeks and then we will gather together and attack all of them.” Ryder said however I have a different plan, but he will not like it.

“That sounds like It could work after all they are rouges its just…. Who is behind them you know giving them orders and all?” Ric said and Ryder puts his hand on Ric’s shoulder.

“We will have to wait and see about that, father, but it’s best if our packs gather together and fight vs just your pack. More manpower and brain power are better than extraordinarily little.”

Ric nodded and smiled as Nyk come’s in the living room with a crying baby.

“He’s hungry again Zahra it’s like his stomach is a bottomless pit.”

I laughed when she said that and took him from her, and Kane stopped crying.

“Or he just didn’t want me to take care of him geez what a mean brat he is turning out to be already.” Nyk said and Ryder playfully growled at her and she turns and then says,

“Well at least I know he got that attitude from you Ryder.

We all laugh, and I let Ric hold his grandson before he left because I do not know when he would be able to see him again, especially with all that is happening right now.

“Hey dad is it okay if mom comes and sees him too with everything going on, I don’t know if she will be able to see much of him?”

“Yes, ill send her you way there will be guards with her just in case. It is best if she sees him now because like you said with everything going on, we need to stay careful.” He said as he gave me Kane and he kissed my forehead and shook Ryders hand before he left.

It was a good thirty minutes before Ada knocked on the front door, I was still in the living room waiting for her arrival. Before I could get up Ryder was already at the door opening it.

“Please come in your grandson and daughter are in here.” Ryder said and a few seconds later she came through the doorway.

“Oh, he’s so handsome he looks a lot like Ryder. He even has natural born highlights with your color of hair and Ryders is the base color. This lucky grandson of mine is going to turn into a really handsome man your going to have a hard time keeping the girl’s off of him.” She said laughing as she held him.

“The best part is he has Zahra’s eyes but the opposite the right is sea green and the left are a darker blue color then the lighter color like Zahra’s.” Ryder told her.

“So, he has the rare eyes no one can figure out. Does that mean the wolf is going to be similar to Zara’s then?” she asked.

“We wont know until the day he first shifts.” I told her.

We are quite for a moment then she gave him back after about thirty minutes holding him.

“Thank you, Zahra, Ryder for letting me see him before all this madness starts, I really do appreciate it.” She says as she starts to hug me and then shakes Ryders hand.

Ryder pulls her into a hug and then says,

“Your welcome mother please be careful and tell father ill contact him when we find out anything.”

He then shows her out the door and I walk up to Kane’s bedroom and lays him gently down. I then felt warm hands around my waist and then a head on top of mine.

“Come lets go to bed my queen.”

I just nodded and then followed Ryder to our bedroom after checking on Amborgino to see if she was okay.

Once in the bedroom he turned me around and kissed me lightly on the forehead and the trailed those kisses down to my lips.

I looked into his eyes after we broke the kiss to breath, and they were full of lust and need of pleasure. He then swiftly picked me up and carried me to the bed and set me down gently. He then moved some hair out of my eyes then ran his thumb on my bottom lip.

“You’re so beautiful I know I don’t get to spend time with you and tell you how beautiful you are.” He said in my ear his hot breath really got the sparks flowing through my body.

He then started kissing me again I wanted to stop because this was not the time to be having more pups not only that, but I am still breast feeding our first one.

“Ryder please we need to get some rest and prepare our pack for tomorrows mission.” I said in a rushed breath because I was getting worked up already.

He stopped kissing my mark he gave me and then he looked into my eyes.

“Okay as you wish I just don’t know how much longer I can hold in the urge though.”

“Well what if I told you something that will make you mad?” I asked him I had to tell him that my plan was already set in motion before tomorrow.

He then pushed himself off the bed with his arms and I sat up on the bed. his eyes not concerned and on the verge of angry.

“Please tell me you didn’t plan something behind my back Zahra.” His voice a little on the darker side then I was used to hearing.

“I’m sorry but none of your pack warriors know how to hide in the shadows like me and Niki we can train some but that would be a waist of time, so I told her that she was going to take one half and…” I paused and looked down at my hands.

“And WHAT ZAHRA” Ryders voice became Zane’s.

I looked up at him and his eyes were no longer his they were Zane’s and they are filled with rage and sadness.

“Never mind you will find out tomorrow I’m going to go…. for a walk.” I said getting up to go out the door.

I was sad and angry he would not let me do things anymore I miss being apart of the action. He gets angry to quickly before hearing the whole thing. Before I could made it through the door a hand softly grabs me, and I did not even look at him I just kept going.

I walked outside even though I could feel his presents.

          Ryders prov.

I got angry with her I used my alpha tone to my own wife. I did not even think of how she would have felt or anything but sometimes the things she does behind my back pisses me off to that point. I knew what she was going to say without her even telling me about it.

I can feel that she longs to be in missions with the rest of the pack, but it was more than just being in the missions it was something else entirely, but I could not figure it out at all. The only thing I can see in her eyes is the fear and anger, so I thought that if I keep her at my side, she will not feel like that. However, what she did just now just proved that I was wrong.

“Zahra honey I’m sorry please just stop walking and talk to me please…I want to ask something its been bothering me now more than ever.”

She just kept walking until she sat on one of the benches that was in the backyard. I sat next to her but not too close not until I have calmed down more so I don’t use the alpha tone on her anymore. I hate using it on her and to tell the truth I hate using that tone on anyone.

“May I ask you something?” I asked after a long silence.

She just nodded her head not even speaking to me and it hurt my heart and Zane is whining as she continued to give us the silent treatment.

“Well I actually have two questions I hope that’s alright. Why have you been afraid and angry when we give pack members missions?”

She looks up at me in shock like I did not know, but in her eyes, there is concern.

“If I tell you will you use that tone of voice at me again.” She said with anger even though there was no anger present other than in her voice.

“I can’t say that I that I won’t because I want to keep you safe because I care about you and I’m afraid of losing you in anyway. I have not been able to sleep because all of my dreams of you turn into nightmares of what if scenarios, and I know that is my fault in the long run. I have a feeling that is why I got angry too quickly at you without even letting you finish and I’m sorry.”

After I finished telling her what was really bothering me, I felt a hand cresting my check with a thumb whipping a tear that escaped from my eye. I also felt a huge weight that was lifted off of my shoulders that I did not know I was carrying.

          I looked up at her and she was smiling with worry in her eyes.

“The reason why every time we give our pack members missions is, I don’t want them to die on me too knowing that I could have been there to protect them like I couldn’t do for my own blood pack.”

“You feel that away because you blame yourself that your whole pack was murdered, and you couldn’t do anything about it.”

She just nodded and then I understand why she was making different plans involving her so she could make a difference and fix her mistake and help save lives.

“Is that why you became an assassin?” I asked seeing if my theory is true.

She just nodded and then opened her mouth then closed it.

“you don’t have to tell me what you have planned ill try to hide my anger for when I do find out, but I hope you realize that if you are putting yourself in danger not only are you endangering your own life but also me and our children.” I got up and then held my hand out for her to take, “ Come my queen lets get back inside and get some sleep for tomorrow.”

Without hesitation she took my hand and I walked her back to the house, and we laid down to rest. She scooted over until her back was against my chest and I wrapped an arm around her stomach cuddling her tightly but not too tight.

“I promise I will try on not putting myself in missions but at least let me do this one.” She quietly said to me in a pleading tone.

“Okay after this one please stays home you have to trust that our pack members with keep themselves alive during a mission and come back safely. You have to learn how to trust this pack more not only for your title of Luna but for me too. I cant keep worrying over you and the pack its just too much for me to handle. To let you in on a secret I worry about everyone on each mission I hate putting my own people in danger but it has to be done for the greater good for our pack because no one sees life like we do.”

I told her as I put my chin on her soft head and then she whispers the words, “ I understand.” Then she fell asleep.
