Chapter Seven I just kept walking, covering several blocks before ever looking up. I didn’t want to know where I had spent the last several days, and I certainly didn’t want to know where I left that bastard either. He was an evil man and deserved everything he got. Finally I looked at the street signs. I was on the corner of 9th Avenue and West 34th Street. I reached into the pockets of my newly acquired pants and didn’t find very much. He was carrying no wallet, so he had no money or credit cards. I did find thirty-six dollars in cash and his cell phone in the other pocket. “Not much to get by on,” I told myself.
