The Birth of a New Race

chapter 3

I woke up in a forest. I tried to stand up, but I couldn't. My head was spinning. I could hear birds chirping as they were talking with me, I could hear even the bugs crawling on the ground, leaves cracking and the wind howling. I tried to adjust my vision as there was too much light. I could see much better now. All my senses were thousand times better than before. I could sniff the air and

feel unique flavors, something I've never experienced before.

I heard leaves cracking on my left and I looked that way instantly. There was a deer. I suddenly felt the urge to hunt it down, to taste it. I felt hungry. I tried to suppress my thoughts, but I couldn't. I instantly jumped on my stop...What?... I was petrified.... there were no legs and arms...I couldn't stand.... there were paws...huge white paws...and I was trapped in that body, a wolf's body.

I stood still and watched the wolf satisfying his hunger. "Where the hell am l?"

As I was unable to move, I just watched the wolf heading towards a stream. I suddenly felt the breeze hitting my nostrils. There was something else in the air. I could smell other wolves.

I was scared but a voice in my head was telling me to calm down. It felt somehow familiar. My heart was pounding hard when all the sudden I was attacked by three black wolves. They were huge and their snouts were full of blood. Their canines were double size. They were feral beasts.

I had to fight for my life, it was me or them, life or death situation. But when did I become a beast myself?

I felt content with myself all the sudden. My wolf was killing them one by one. She was so powerful.

But restlessness eloped in me as I felt something different in the air. Something more powerful. I had to run away as fast as I could. That wasn't the time to deal with what was coming. I was about to run away when an excruciating pain hit me and I fell on the ground, blackout engulfing me.

I woke up in something that appeared to be a room. But it was cold and smelly. Only a tiny window up the wall with metal bars. I could see the moon raising above. It was already nighttime.

My head was pounding. I looked around and there was no furniture, just some dirty straws in a corner. I tried to stand up but again I couldn't. I was trapped in that wolf's body. As I tried to move around something was restraining me. I couldn't believe I 've had a collar on and chained to the wall.

I sat on the dirty floor again, contemplating about what happened. Someone was trying to talk to me, but I wasn't sure who.

"Open up your mind and let the link work...we are one and the same"...I could hear. And then I realized what just happened. I was the wolf, and the wolf was me. She was trying to communicate

with me. I almost forgot I'm a werewolf. And then I remembered what Selena said.

"Am I back in time? How am I going to change the future?"

"Relax God dammit...we are stronger together...talk with me." She was saying in my head.

I relaxed, letting the bond form. All her past lives were shown in front of me. I could see how many times she reincarnated trying to save our world. She was one of the ancient wolves.

"You are special to this world Tiara. You are our last hope. Our race will end if we fail this time."

I passed out terrified by what I've seen and felt. The world was too cruel for me. But I must become strong and try to save it.

I woke up again feeling dragged by my hair. I looked up and I could see a man dragging me up the stairs. I was in my human form again. Looking back, I could see I was locked in the dungeon. In a way a felt happy I didn't have to stay there as it felt creepy. But I felt fear, fear of the unknown. Now that

man was pulling me somewhere. I tried to cover my body with my hands as I was naked. I felt ashamed of myself.

I tried to release myself from his grip, but he slapped me, blood running from my nose.

"Stay still you slut! Don't you ever think to escape, or I will kill you"...he shouted, grinning at me.

Where was my wolf when I needed her? I felt weak again and lowered my head not wanting to be slapped again.

While crawling behind that man I've heard a powerful voice "Stop!". The man stopped and bowed his head..."Master!".

'Take her to my chambers!"... he said walking away. I was drawn by that powerful voice, but I couldn't look up. Shivers went throughout my body, and I didn't know why.

We walked past three other corridors and stopped in front of some massive wooden doors. The man opened them with a cracking noise and shoved me on the floor. He looked around and found a blanket which he thrown at me.

"Cover yourself you slut...and don't ever think to escape." ...He looked at me with a disgusted look on his face, hitting me hard in my stomach.

Pain was all over the place, I was hungry and hurt tears starting to form into my eyes. I managed to crawl away from him and positioned myself with my back resting on a wall, covering myself quickly with the blanket. I was shivering, not knowing what to do. I made myself as tiny as I could, hugging my legs and putting my chin between my knees. I fell asleep thinking that was the end for me, that I've been abandoned by everyone.
