The Birth of a New Race

chapter 2

I've got home just in time for dinner. My head was hurting. I couldn't even concentrate. I blamed the weather pressure for it. Sometimes when the pressure is too high, I end up having headaches, so I didn't bother too much. I was used with it.

We all sat at the table and started to eat.

"Mom? Dad?"

"Yes pumpkin?"

"What can you tell me about our history? I mean there are references about human history but why nothing about ours." ...I asked.

They looked at each other and back at me. I could see the sorrow on their faces.

"Oh honey...our history was conveyed from generation to generation through tales. But we honestly don't know how we forgot about it."

I felt sad once more. My beloved parents didn't care about our heritage anymore. They were human transformed.

I dropped the subject and went to my bedroom. There was no point in asking stupid questions. Soon all werewolf and vampire population will be human transformed. And I was one of them.

I fell asleep thinking about the meaning of life. Was there one?

I woke up in a white chamber. I looked around and there was nothing but the chair I was sat on. I was confused and scared. I pinch myself thinking I was dreaming, but the pain was there and so was my fear growing. All the sudden a door opened in front of me, a door I couldn't see until now. The professor stepped in and walked towards me. I wanted to run away but there was an invisible force that kept me still. I felt trapped. I was about to faint from fear when she spoke:

"Do you know who I am?" ...she asked.

I couldn't reply, I just stared at her.

"Don't be afraid" ...she continued and moved forward. Now she was in front of me. and I was petrified.

She extended her arm "I'm going to take away your fear" ...and touched my shoulder.

I felt relaxed and fearless in an instant.

"What's your name child?" ...she asked.

'Tiara"...I answered back.

"l'm Selena...your moon goddess. Do you know why you are here Tiara?"

"First of all, I never heard of you, and I have no idea what this place is, or how I've got here."... I replayed, checking the place once again with my eyes.

"As far as I remember I was asleep in my room.".. I looked at Selena with a questioning look.

"Fair enough!" ...she laughed softly.

"And what do you mean by goddess?"... I asked curious. From my knowledge a goddess should be immortal and something untouchable or seen by us, the mortal ones.

That couldn't be. Probably someone is making fun of me I thought, looking around and waiting to jump and say "surprise.... You've been pranked!!!"

But that never happened. And to my surprise Selena spoke again pulling me out of my thoughts. "Yes, my child. I am immortal indeed and nobody is pranking you..."

The next second I froze. How was that even possible? I never opened my mouth to spoke. I only thought.

"And yes, I can read your mind"...she continued.

I just stood there, frightened, and not knowing what to do. That was too much for me. I was just an inch away from pissing myself of fear once again.

"Relax my child" ...she said touching my shoulders again. But this time I was pulled in some kind of dream. It was somewhere not far away into the future. I could see people around screaming. There were no more vampires and werewolves left. There were only humans. And bad ones. Enhanced

ones. With powers from all of us. But that was too much for them to handle. They were killing each other. The powers were too great and destroyed them in the end. I could see their struggles to stay humans, I could feel their emotions, their fears, and their pain. Everything was destroyed and there was no hope for humans.

All the sudden I was pulled back to reality. The pain was too much for me to handle and I crumbled on the floor.

"What would you do if you were given the chance to go back in time and try to change the future?"

Selena said looking straight into my eyes.

"I would take the chance if that would ever be possible."

The next second, I saw Selena starting to float. She raised her hands into the air enchanting

something. Her hair started to change colors and her eyes were full white now.

I felt a stream of energy passing through my veins, my head was spinning, everything was spinning

around me. All my senses were enhanced and the pain was excruciating. While struggling to cope with everything what was happening, I've heard her saying...

" You are unique now, my child, and so is the wolf within you. Embrace your powers and learn how to use them. You must become strong. Only then you will succeed. Good luck my child and take care of yourself....remember my words. "

The next moment I passed out, exhausted.
