"When I disappeared, they sent a stronger one. I know her, she is a merciless killer. Much as Dan described about many that he has met." "That's why he has such a low opinion of the people here. By the gods, I would also if I was treated as badly by most of the people as he was," Anna said with tears falling from her eyes. They spread out to search when Danea yelled that she had found him. She was at the edge of the crater staring down at Dan, whose hands were glowing bright red. She whispered to the others as tears started to fall. Dan was bleeding from several places, his face especially. "DAN!" Bell almost screamed when she saw him. "What happened to him!" Bell had started to levitate, shocking the others. At her yell, Dan's eyes cleared for a moment as the red glow started to diminish. Bell landed near him, though couldn't get closer than six feet. "Get away from me, Bell," Dan said sluggishly. "I'll only get you killed. I've almost killed the rest of them, and they're rightfully mad at me. Just go, let me die, got, got nothing left, let me die." With that, he passed out his energy very low. Tygan and Kim'ta were beside him immediately pouring healing energy into him. Again, briefly, he awoke and tried to push both Tygan and Kim'ta away, to no avail. The rest of them had seen this and were more afraid of how he'd be when he awoke. "You eight, need to decide what you are going to do when he awakes. He was trying to protect you all, and you turned your backs on him," Bell said. "You all have to remember he is human, nothing like the pompous and not-caring ass of males that are here. From what I see here? He gave the f**k up and decided to take all of the monsters with him that he could," Ella said. Bell looked up at her sister and asked, "Can we just take him with us and leave them here? They obviously don't give a s**t about him." Ella looked at the other eight females with a scathing look. "We didn't mean to," En'tra started. "Yeah, well, I'm not the one that you need to convince. You see all of this? He was trying to die! Do you understand he didn't think it was worth going on. We tried to get him to stay, but we weren't enough, he needed all of you, and you walked away," Ella said. "If you really love him, as I think that you do as the both of us do, then you'll have to prove it," Bell said after a deep breath. The other eight could only stare at the two witches that had verbally spanked them. They then withdrew a bit to discuss exactly what they needed to do. Ella and Bell had made a small covering for Dan to keep him out of the sun, they had water ready as soon as he awoke. It was almost dark when Dan finally clawed his way to the surface. The first thing he saw was the face of one of his only female friends, Bell. He reached a hand out to her face, gently rubbing it against her skin. "You have such soft skin," he said as she nodded her head as tears escaped her eyes. He was slightly confused as he then saw Ella and her eyes had tears also. "Your finally awake," Ella said. How are you feeling?" "Ugh, like I went as few rounds with a boxer," he said, then winced as he tried to move. "s**t feel like a truck ran over me, then backed up over me, then went forward again." "You're gonna to feel weak for a bit as you exhausted your power. Even with as much as you have," Ella said. Dan nodded, then tried to sit up again, then gave up as the energy just wasn't there. "Yeah," Dan said as he drained the water that they held to his lips. "Feel worse than I did each day in the Dragon caves." With that, they helped him to get more comfortable, then he was out again. Ella and Bell were glad he hadn't asked after the others as they didn't want to upset him. They both could see that the other eight were still deep in discussion. They shook their heads, though they knew that the females were of this world and were a lot different than them. Still, Bell thought how hard was it to see that Dan cared. A whole hell of a lot more than any of the males here. She again decided that they should just take Dan and leave away from them and live with him. She shook her head, she knew that Dan wasn't like that, never had been. With a sigh she saw that they had finally concluded whatever they had been discussing. It seemed that whatever they had decided was going to have to wait 'til in the morning. Oh joy, Bell, thought. Cre'sa had managed to crawl a great distance away into the destroyed forest. That creepy male, white elf had left her to die as he ran bleeding in several places. She herself had been tossed more than a hundred meters, thirty meters high. She felt that almost all her ribs were broken, her legs refused to work, her arms were cut and scratched up, and she was out of power. She'd never seen anything like that mage. She could swear that she and the white elf had created tens of thousands of constructs. The plower that the mage had, he'd kept destroying them as if he didn't care. She smiled a bit as she thought of the injured white elf. The damn coward running like that, even as she continued 'til the mage zeroed in on her. She'd also felt him shadow step, a rare power for any male as it was almost always a female power. She was actually feeling a bit of respect and awe at the mage, or she should say human. A human of all things and he had more than five powers, no wonder he had been so hard to kill. She then thought if she really had a chance to kill him at all. She sighed as she felt that it really didn't matter at all. She'd barely managed to stop the internal bleeding, never mind all the broken bones. It shouldn't be too long now, she thought, as if the wounds didn't kill her, the sun and thirst would. She didn't notice when she was picked up and carried to a camp a distance away. Dan awoke the next morning feeling a whole lot better then he remembered the fight the day before. That's when he noticed that he was backed up to a female form. As dark as the female was, he at first thought it was En'tra. A gasp from him brought Bell before him. "Who in the hell is this?" he said, trying to crawl away. "We found her in the woods a good way from here, she was hurt pretty badly. She's also pretty powerful, as we haven't been able to heal her, except for internally, but not much," Bell said. "What, you want me to heal her? She might be one of the ones that were attacking me," Dan said, looking at Bell, then sighed at her puppy dog eyes. He shook his head as he held a hand over the dark elf. A moment later, everything inside her was fine. He then ran a hand over her arms, which were healed in a few moments. It was at that moment that she awoke staring at the both of them. Then she felt inside her eyes going wide then she saw that all the cuts were healed. She looked afraid as she felt that her legs were badly broken in more than twenty places. She had tried to start her personal healing, but the pain interrupted her power. She looked at the handsome male shaking her head, wasn't this the one that she was supposed to kill? Dam it she thought what in the hell was wrong with her? "I'm sorry did you get caught in all of this?" the male asked. Pointing to all the destruction, Damn his voice was calming. She only nodded. She just looked at him, too stunned to speak. Finally, she got out a hiss, "Hurt so bad, hurt legs." Dan could feel all the breaks that she had throughout the entirety of both legs. They were really bad from her hips all the way to her toes. "I am going to try and heal your legs though I am afraid that it will take a long time. May I?" She looked at him in fear as he waited for her permission. He smiled as she hesitantly nodded yes. At first, she felt his power as it went through her hips. The bones were actually knitted back and were whole again. He looked at her after her hip bones were whole. "I am afraid I can only heal one leg at a time. I am also afraid that it will hurt quite a bit. I will stop if it becomes too much, OK?" Dan asked. Cre'sa was amazed that the bones in her pelvis were whole again. A great deal of the pain was gone through all of both legs felt shattered. She was already amazed that her pelvis was whole though she feared that she'd never walk again. The male started to run his hands down her left leg, the healing rolling through it. It took almost an hour, but she was amazed that not only was it healed completely, it didn't hurt nor was it sore. The male had stopped as he'd seen great tears rolling down her face though she made no sound. Who in the hell was this mage? She'd never felt nor seen a healing as complete as he'd done. "I think you need to sleep, if I do anymore, I am afraid that you'll pass out," he said with that disarming smile of his. She nodded to him, afraid to speak that her voice might make him go away. With almost all the pain gone, she managed to fall into a fitful sleep. Her mind was torn as to what she had to do and what she wanted to do. The dreams she experienced weren't of much help either. She awoke a few hours later, turning at the sound of low voices. The male was near her though her eyes flew wide as she saw the assembled females. Dear God, she thought two witches, a mermaid, a Golem. Two white elves, a Felich, a Harpy, a Dragon dear god, an actual Dragon! Ah, there it was the dark elf, wait wasn't that En'tra? She looked far different. She could see all their power. She shook her head; one was in the high mid-range, four were in mid-mid-range. The last five were all in the low-mid range. It wasn't as hard as she thought, though she could feel that the Dragon was close to the low high range. She looked at the Dragon, nodding her head, she'd have to be careful around that one. She herself was only in the high-mid-range with her five spells. She had looked at the male earlier and had almost lost her breath, eight aspects? A grand mage, she shook her head, he could kill her with a snap of his fingers. She decided that she needed to remain demure and not say much. She needed to find out if he was the one that was prophesied to save the world. She'd already heard rumors that all the Dragon clans were healed. It seemed half the Harpies, most of the mer-people, a good number of the white elves, many Golems and the Felichs. Cre'sa's mouth dropped open as she saw that none of the females here were sick. By all the dark and light gods, they were all healed! As she fell asleep she wasn't sure if she could complete this mission. What were the dark elves afraid of? Cre'sa awoke a few hours later relieved that most of the pain was gone. She watched as the two witches and the mage male stayed separated from the others. He then walked up a few moments later, kneeling before her. "Are you ready for me to finish with the healing?" She slowly nodded at him, then looking at my hands as I moved them toward her still broken leg. "Oh, I'm sorry my name is Dan, pleased to meet you," Dan told her. "What may I call you?" She almost flinched when he asked her, her name. She stared at him, her mouth dropping. He hadn't demanded or ordered her to, just asked. "Cre, Cre'sa," she said, staring again at the male before her. He nodded as he put both his hands over her right leg. "As I warned you yesterday, I am afraid that this is going to hurt a bit." Cre'sa looked at it for a moment with a hint of fear, then she seemed to harden her resolve. "Please," she said, "I can't live with just one leg and my own healing can't repair this." Dan looked at her for a moment, feeling sympathy for her. He then started to heal her, her leg starting to grow rather warm. "Cre'sa, nice name, are you from the same clan as En'tra?" He asked, then stiffened when she got a sour look on her face. "What's wrong?" "Nothing, nothing," Cre'sa said, trying to cover her revolution of the other dark elf. "I don't really know her that much," she lied. This, of course, had Dan looking at her suspiciously for a few moments. That plus he had stopped at her knee when she pulled the face. Distracted as he was, he didn't resume the healing 'til Cre'sa groaned in pain. With a shake, Dan apologized and resumed the healing. It was almost another half hour before Dan finally finished up with her leg. Cre'sa's mouth was again hanging open as she stood with no pain, no difficulty. Dan smiled at her almost happy glee, as she walked around, she then shrunk back as the eight females started to walk toward her and Dan. If that wasn't bad enough, the damn Dragon walked forward from the rest of them. Cre'sa was trembling as she could feel the raw power the Dragon had, though not as much as Dan. Gre'ta walked forward, her head down slightly. "I guess I have been elected as the spokesman. First I want to personally apologize to you especially what you did for the Dragon clans." Dan nodded, not feeling much better, but it helped. "You say you speak for all of you. I have healed all of your people respectfully. Except for the witch community and the dark elves. Not quite sure how I can do that and survive," Dan said as Cre'sa was nodding her agreement. Gre'ta was nodding her head, agreeing with him. "I believe that they all realize this. Yes, I agree that the witches and the dark elfs are going to be a problem. I think though that your friends will make a difference there." "I started out probably pissing the dark elves off after what I did to those they sent after us at first." Dan looked at En'tra and then Cre'sa. "I hope that they know that they can't get their powers back unless I allow it," Dan said, causing En'tra and Cre'sa to gasp. "What do you mean?" En'tra asked, her lips quivering. "I seem to have an ability that I already knew to seal power away. I don't strip or take them away, I just seal them away. If I let them go, they have it, if not, well, they don't," Dan said, shrugging. En'tra and Cre'sa looked at him. "You'll make an enemy of all the dark elf clans," En'tra said, with Dan shrugging again. "I look at them like I do anyone that is trying to harm you. Leave me alone or pay the consequences, as I'm sure those that tried, found out," Dan said. "That's a little harsh, don't you think Dan," Bell said. Dan shook his head," For this piece of a crap world not really." Here he looked at Tygan and Kim'ta, "I blame the vast majority of this on that bastard of a king you have. No, I don't blame the light elves, just the fear the king has installed in all of you." Dan was about to say more when he felt a pain in his head and that irritating pull again. With a growl, Dan sent out a titanic wave of energy toward where it was coming from. Less than a minute later, I heard a high-pitched scream as the pain dissipated. The pull went to a barely noticeable tug. "I'm not sure who in the hell is responsible for that, but I might kill them when I find them," Dan growled, then stopped. "No, I think I'll just gift them with all the pain that they have graced me with." Dan then turned toward Gre'ta, who was still waiting there. "So, can I tell the others that you forgive them? Gre'ta asked. Dan crossed his arms as he stared at her, then the others. "Not so sure, you betrayed me and turned your backs on me. I only wanted to protect you, but you thought that I didn't trust you. I do, but do all of you actually see it?" Gre'ta bowed to Dan as did the others, "We do, Lord sir. Please forgive us, we need to help you to heal the rest of the world." Dan could hear the near desperation and sincerity in her voice. He looked at the others as he could also see it in their eyes. Dan sighed with them like this, it was really hard to stay angry at them for very long. Dan turned away, hearing Gre'ta and the rest of them gasping in horror. Dan turned back toward her and the others with a stern face. "Alright, but remember I am not of this world and I find a lot of the social mores here to be stupid." All the females' mouths dropped open, then a few of them started to nod. The thing that got him though was when the females started to giggle a bit from the look on his face. Dan just sighed as he sat down, suddenly feeling more drained then he'd thought. "I think that we need more rest before we move on. All agreed as they moved closer to Dan, arranging themselves in a circle around him. Dan watched in shock as they set up around him a foot apart from each other. Dan could only shake his head, he was afraid that they might fight to get near him. Strangely enough, he felt far better with them like this than if they were up next to him. Then they were all bowing to him as they laid down for the night. He sighed as he finally laid back, feeling far more tired than he should, especially as long as he was out. The next day, Dan awoke feeling a hell of a lot better than he had the day before. He started to reach out to feel how the king was then decided against. He had all of them gather together as he prepared to shadow step. He stopped when Cre'sa said, "Dan, are you sure you can move all of us? I know that you've moved eleven of you, but won't one more drain you?" Dan thought about it for a moment, then said, "Moving eleven was hard at first, but I find it rather easy. With as much power as I have, I'm not really all that worried about it." En'tra looked at him with worry also, "If you lose us during a step you know that we are trapped there. It is a maddening experience if you are there too long. Please make sure that you have the power." Dan looked at her and nodded as everyone joined hands and vanished. They then appeared not far from where they and he had met Marlena. Marlena smiled as she reached out and touched the water. A few moments later, her father appeared with a young male whose looks mirrored Marlena's that Dan recognized. The young boy's eyes grew wide as he sprouted legs and stumbled to Dan. "I am feeling much better," he said with a smile then Dan laid his hands on the young male. "I am glad that you are better but now," Dan started as he and the young mer-male started to glow. A few moments later, the youth's eyes flew wide as he stared at Dan, then himself. The glow dimmed, then was gone, "am I all better now?" the youth whispered. "You most certainly are," Dan said with a smile at the youth. The youth jumped down and jumped up and down, then ran and dived into the water. "Daddy," the youth shouted when he surfaced next to the king. "It doesn't hurt anymore!" The king turned to Dan tears in his eyes, and mouthed the words Thank you as he chased after his son. Dan turned to see the tears mirrored in Marlena's eyes also. They all stood there and watched the father and son as they swam out 'til they disappeared. "I believe that you have not only saved the mer-people, you have saved my father's heart. Thank you so much Dan," Marlena said as she locked lips with a startled Dan. Dan, still shocked a few moments later, could only stand there as all the females started to giggle and laugh. "Dan?" Bell asked. "Are you OK?" "Uh," Dan stated, then stopped still a bit shocked. No female had ever kissed him with as much passion. He couldn't really think that what he had done was worth that which she had given him. Dan shook his head as the pulling was back and a lot closer, though it still seemed a ways off yet. He thought about it a moment, then thought, who in the hell is this? A moment later, he got a few words, though nothing else. This is....your power...can't... destroyed. Then there was nothing, though the last word that he got was slightly worrying him. He had asked the females but none of them had ever heard of anything like he had described. Dan sighed, another perplexing mystery that it seemed he was going to have to solve. They all started forward for a few hours 'til they were near the area where the pig-like soldiers had attacked. This had Dan then most of the rest of the females on high alert. They had just passed the exact spot where Dan had fought when they all heard stomping and grunting noises. They kept on forward 'til they turned a corner beside a lot of boulders. Dan rolled his eyes as they cleared the rocks before them were another ten of the pig-like soldiers. All ten of them squealed as they saw Dan, then all the females with him. "Lunch and fun boys, I'll kill him, you strip the butches," the leader said as he watched Dan pull his sword.
